However the driver of bus blew his horn a good 30 ft behind me , so far that I didn't even know it was me he was blowing at and he refused to pull the bus in until I moved my car! Once upon a time, it actually was a bus station that you could go inside of and wait for your bus, but that was years ago. Now it's just a bus stop where buses pick up and drop off. And of course, once arriving at buffalo for our layover, it turned out that the date on the ticket was written incorrectly by the employee at York, and almost caused us our ticket to be invalidated if not for a supervisor stepping in and making it work. The only factors that made me even consider rating above 1 star is the employee at the York station at least making an effort (a failed one) to do his job, and the supervisor fixing the error that was made. You would be better off crawling through rivers of human excrement and used needles to your destination, rather than wasting your money, time, and sanity on this piece of crap service.

The two metro stops are transfer points to other lines. Note that the pick up and drop off locations at L'Enfant are different. Depending on traffic, the trip can be from 30-60 minutes. Other than not having many stops, this bus is able to take Dulles Toll Road in the express lane. While this is an express bus to Dulles, it is essentially a commuter bus. This, there really isn't a place to put your luggage like the airport buses. If you intend to take the bus to catch a flight, plan accordingly. If major accidents/inclement weather occurs or its rush hour, the arrival time of the bus may vary. If there are people waiting, then the bus operators do their best to fit everyone on board. However, this can lead to people standing for the commute until the last stop. If you are pretty short and the bus is packed, aim to stand near the doors where the poles are or hold on to the headrests of the seats. Otherwise it's painful to hold on to the overhead bars for so long. The fare is $7.50 via SmartTrip card (can be bought at any metro station) or exact change. There is no metro operated vehicle parking at the two metro stations. The parking at Herndon-Monroe is currently free, but I imagine that will change once the silver line station there opens up. Then it will be $4.95. Dulles Airport has its own paid parking. Note that WMATA is considering ending Bus 5a when the silver line metro station at Dulles Airport opens. This is still a proposal and not yet decided upon as of February 2020.

The bus driver, instead of having people board in the order they were in line, just came out and said "we're late. We need to go, everyone come on." So people who got there early like myself and my group, who were at the front of the line, ended up towards the back because everyone was stumbling over one another to get on the bus first. Then some guy apparently paid for reserved seats (not in my group), but other passengers also had paid for the same reserved seats. So there was a whole brawl about that and we ended up having to pull over on 95 to get everyone to calm down. I definitely wish I had just paid the money for the train lol, never again will I take a mega bus.

After this the Orange goes to West Falls Church. The Silver goes to Wiehle-Reston. It doesn't seem to get too crowded. This is a bad place for driving to and parking because space is limited. It seems good for getting to Falls Church. Plenty of busses to take you here. This is also good for making a transfer.
