I was so tired we went right to sleep and my son and my pet second day. My cousin come in wet tubing I was exhausted, but I was up that whole night. I felt something crawling on me. I looked on my bed cover. My blanket was covered in sugar aunts and then I seen carpenter ants, which was all over the floor. My dog was sleeping under the bed by day. Three I said this is unbelievable. There was giant wasps outside. I tried to sit on my porch swing. It was so dirty. I couldn't even sit down underneath I swear to sweep out the cabin beef day I checked in, and I washed the floor with a bucket in the rag and didn't mind that so much but when I went to the office to check out, I had complained with a lady at the desk, whose name was Madeline and she just dismissed me. I had been coming here for over 20 years bringing my kids and now my grandkids usually I plan to come back up in August and she told me I should've come up the day before. I tried to call the office three times to tell him there was ants in my cabin. No one answered the phone. We had a terrible storm. I have severe COPD wasn't able to go up there. I can't go out in the humidity to stay in the cabin the rest of that afternoon, which was the Fourth of July. The heat was unbearable over 100° management never even took the trash so I had to load that up and drive it up to the garbage can twice during my stay because animals had gotten into the garbage bag. I just assume the management that usually driver run on the golf cart ticket. They was just driving around on the golf cart. Doing nothing and she literally dismissed me with an attitude. Told me well. Have a could drive home when I was trying to explain my case and she said we would've moved you well they couldn't move me because there was no other cabins available. The KOA was totally booked I know this because I had a hard time getting my cousin a cabin disgrace to be trapped like that and dismissed when I was trying to explain to her why I couldn't come up didn't notice it the first night. Unbelievable I must say when I checked in the lady at the front desk was lovely but not when I checked out it was a different. It was a different person and they do not take collect the trash. I stay at KOA's constantly. I'm a big fan of KOA's very kid friendly and pet friendly but Harpers Ferry West Virginia. Need to get your act together not even a sorry or any form of an apology or compensation

Bad Kids riding their bikes at night- dangerous No guide to site (would have been helpful, especially for sites that are well hidden like ours was) Closed the pool for the season at 5 on a Saturday. I appreciate them keeping it open an extra week but why it couldn't be closed later that day or Sunday morning the same way is beyond me- they had to kick out at least 10 people who were all still swimming. Cabins are in rough shape- ours had holes from carpenter bees and other things. The heater was on making the cabin 90+ degrees when we walked in. Only 1 ac unit for two bed rooms. More than half the sites were empty the entire time we stayed. No dish cleaning station, especially important for tent campers. I had to use water from a pipe that sprayed everywhere except where you needed. Every time we did dishes I was soaked. I felt like there were a lot of extra charges despite the added activity fee. Unclear which roads are one ways and which aren't. An rv almost ran me off the road when they went the wrong way down one of the roads. Long walk to bathrooms for some spots. I've been looking to stay here for a few years but couldn't justify the cost. $300 for a 2 night stay in a cabin without a bathroom. Pretty steep! So when they offered a buy one get one night, I jumped at the offer. Cabin- decent, but badly in need of upgrades. We had A TON of carpenter bees. There was a trap that was totally full. I looked at other cabins near us and none of them had traps. Ours had 2 rooms, one full of bunks and another with a standard bed. The bunk room had a window ac unit. The adult room had nothing. No fan, no unit, just a few windows. If you close the door to the bunk room, it gets SUPER HOT! I opened the window but that didn't do anything on a hot day. I found out one of the screens was just being held in place, not actually installed. Grounds- decent, but seem to be run down. Maybe due to end of season, but there were clearly lots of things in need of repair. Just play a round of mini golf and you'll see what I mean. Mosquitoes surpringly aren't a problem but gnats are the worst. The areas where they were unbearable include mini golf and the jumping pad/playground area. Think a literal face full of gnats attacking you. Traffic- no one knows which roads are two way vs one way. I'm not sure even the staff know. We were coming back to the campground and turned down a road di thought was one way. Coming right at me is a giant rv. They refused to move so I had to drive in the grass just to get by. I later checked the map and it wasn't clear one way or the other. It seems like it should do the same thing as most other campgrounds, lots of one ways with the road at the bottom dumping everyone out who wants to leave. The way things are now seemed to cause a lot of confusion (some with me but I noticed the same thing with other drivers). Would I stay again? Maybe if prices were more reasonable for cabins. I wouldn't tent camping here because they lack a lot of the basics in my opinion. It was a beautiful campground with lots of space, but could end up being quite a hike to the nearest bathroom.

The positives of this place is the staff was overall very friendly, the water park was awesome and it was very quick to get here from DC. The downsides was that it is fairly pricey, the store is incredibly limited, and overall it feels a lot more dated than the Bedford location. Also, food is incredibly limited. We ended up ordering on Uber Eats since this Yogi Bear didn't offer dinner service and their pizza ovens stopped working. It was late in the season though.

My room had a wide range of issues which did hinder my trip and made the high price for my cabin non justifiable. The main office was closed and called back the next day which was not ideal. The events were not always timely for instance the advertised pool party didn't start getting setup until 15 minutes after advertised and it was indeed not a party. Lastly the canteen was inexcusably inefficient for grabbing a meal by the pool. You had to wait in line for 45+ minutes and then were quoted an additional 1+ hour until you would get your food. In all this park has so much potential to be better. But if cabins are not up to par, guests should be contacted in advance or given a remedy.
