I thought the owner should know, but my friend and I came here and a cockroach crawled on me. Of course my friend is laughing because it wasn't on her but I think the owner should know this so he can take steps to fixing the problem. When I scroll down to negative reviews on yelp, I saw someone came here four months ago and killed a cockroach and there's a photo that shows. Sports teams come here, so I think that it just needs to get fixed as soon as they can! Other than that, it's a pretty chill vibe! Went to Griffins to meet up with a bunch of old friends last night. Had the best time! The food was yummy, the atmosphere was great! Lots of tvs with all different sports on. The drinks were delicious! Our server Brad was awesome! He recommended the "Lick my chili" it was so good, we couldn't stop ordering more! We had a big group, that showed up at all different times, he was on it and kept the food and drinks coming! Can't wait to go back! read more

Met up with a friend for a drink and food here, didn't even know about this place until found on yelp and had decent reviews. Venue - Front the outside looks like a dive bar hole in the wall. But once you walk in its actually pretty nice, remodeled , clean, and pretty good size. Service - Service was a bit slow but manageable. Staff was nice and friendly. Drinks - Ordereded Old Fashioned drinks and once didn't come out as good, but they fixed it and made it better. Food - Typical bar food that tasted well made and no complaints. Prices - The norm for a place like this. Parking - Decent wasn't too bad as the complex has a large lot. Overall chill spot and would come again. Friendly for a night out or with the fam. read more

First visit and only because OC3 was playing live. We had a party of 8 and had made reservations a couple weeks in advance with Max. Ample parking in the shopping center which was nice especially on a Friday night. Definitely busy!! Walked inside and oh WOW, incredibly busy and noisy!! My Apple phone kept warning "loud environment" lol. Unfortunately our reservation's were not available as I was expecting; however apparently there was a table set for eight under another name, same time which was a no show. I think it was my table under someone else's name so we got the table. Good thing otherwise I don't think we would have been accommodated because there was no more large tables. Now let me reiterate it was extremely busy and loud and the band had not even began to play. The place is somewhat on the small side for the amount of people packed inside plus a band stage and a small dance floor. Everyone was enjoying themselves from what I observed. I assume it's a lot of regulars. The waiters were pretty much on top of waiting on us. I did have to ask for our server once as he delivered our drinks and a few food orders to our table but left before asking if anyone else wanted to order more food. My husband and I shared the country Cobb salad and a bowl of tortilla soup. They both were pretty good. The salad on the chopped version side. Nothing too difficult to mess up. The tortilla soup was yummy as said on a review. The broth is red with a hint of spice & heat but not intolerable. Had large chunks of chicken and lots of pieces of avocado with some veggies. Not a bad portion, definitely shareable with another entree. Now the drinks were just okay. My friend's Mojito tasted awful!! Really no taste, more like seltzer water and booze. She had to order some wine. My husband had an old fashion and he said it was just okay. My J Lohr Cab even tasted flat. Now the beers our friend's ordered looked refreshing, but again how do you mess up beer?! Of course the band AHHHMAZING and we enjoyed it. Trying to visit and carry a conversation or trying to listen to one was on the difficult side with the noise level being what it was. Wasn't too impressed. We ordered an old fashioned & a salty dog. Both drinks were watered down a bit. We ended up just getting two beers our second round. My Husbands fish & chips were served cold, they ended up just microwaving it, which made the fish soggy & released more of the oil it was fried in. My chicken tenders was ok. Our server was hustling. Came here for karaoke, we only sang one song, the KJ Greg is known as no rotation at all. You could wait here for long long time. Instead he allows all these undisciplined kids jumping, screaming, tapping the tables and running to the stage sang over and over. The place is like Chuck E Cheese. My friend had a $5 bill was ready to tip the KJ. I told her to leave, save the tip. I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimps. The cook put so much salt on the shrimp, like eating a spoonful of salt. I was at a game day in the back room. They knew we were coming and it's the playoffs for College and NFL teams. There was ONE server, ONE cook and ONE bartender to serve everyone ( our room and the fans in the main room. They were at or near capacity. I was on the second table, I was the 6th person to order. I didn't get my food until after 3 other tables, who ordered after us, got there food. I'm Diabetic and I had taken my medicine when I ordered. I need to eat within a half hour of taking it. I guess I'll be going to Wendy's for my food before I go to play the games. I'll just buy a drink in the room. I just wonder if it's a policy to delay food to us. One Diabetic lady never got her food, even though she was the second person to order. Management needs to do a better job of staffing to be sure everyone is getting served in a timely manner. read more

Bring Back the Pastrami Pizza!!! I almost gave you 3 stars but we did bounce back after hearing the bad news that you no longer offer it. What we did get was good & the service was too. Still, why drop the most unusual item from the menu? Have we not learned anything from the TV show Drive-Ins, Diners & Dives? Most of these places have a hook, some food offering that is a rare find. The Pastrami Pizza was a highlight. Now we'll go to Downey Pizza for our fix, a longer drive but worth it! What we did get was Fish & Chips & a Patty Melt. Both tasted good & thankfully came with Crinkle Cut fries. Chubby, crispy, tender & golden. Service was attentive & friendly. The place itself is larger & livelier than it looks from the outside. They have a ton of TV's mostly focused on sports. The bar takes up a whole wall & it's attractively lit as the restaurant itself isn't overly bright. The noise level depends on the Game & the patrons but it's still welcoming to families, couples & going solo. Prices aren't exactly low but portions are decent & everything tastes fresh. I hope you'll reconsider the Pastrami Pizza. I'm still trying to get over The Crack Shack in Costa Mesa dropping their delicious & unusual Matzo Ball Posole soup! read more

This review is for Tracy! We live in the neighborhood and love the Dodgers so this is a great place to walk to for games. I have to say this place is consistently understaffed. I know that's the theme of post covid restaurants (living wage, people!!!!!) and I am always understanding of it. When we come sit in Tracy's section we are still served quickly and she never forgets a single thing. I served for 10 years and honestly don't know how she keeps on top of such a large section. Football Sundays! Have no fear, they open early just in time for the early games to start. Full bar. Great selection of liquors. Breakfast menu and game day specials available. I wish you could order off the regular menu before noon, but you can't. Waited it out and food was good! Typical bar food - nothing fancy. Service was awesome. The bar owner Dino makes it memorable. He's the BEST!! Helps his staff all around and really cherishes his guests. Such a great, local bar with many TVS. His reaction and hard pass to the guy requesting tennis was absolutely priceless. "NOT on football Sunday!" Only advice would be to the server passing dirty glasses over the bar. Not a good look! Walk the two extra steps (if that) to the service well and place them there vs squeezing between guests to leave dirty glasses where they're eating/drinking. When my family arrived, the place was mostly empty with plenty of staff. We stood at the door with no one to greet us. Thinking nothing of it, we sat ourselves down at a booth near the cash register where staff were standing. We waited a few more minutes with no one to greet us, so I went up to grab menus next to the register. At that moment, my husband saw the waitress turn her back to me. We waited another five min and nothing. Staff were doing a great job talking to the few patrons at the bar and one waiter brought to go containers to the only other group sitting nearby. I hear that Griffins Grill has been sold. A quick reminder: The location, for decades, was the site of "Mr. B's". It later became "The Pike". After The Pike went out of business, it was resurrected as "Griffins Grill". The entrepreneur who created Griffins Grill sold it to another ownership group. This second ownership has turned the business over, again. Griffins is now on its third ownership. My friends and I are regulars. We have seen how the two previous owners have approached the business. It will be interesting to see what changes this third owner might make. The one constant since Griffins opened is that the staff has always treated us as valued guest. I hope the long tenured staff stays. read more
