Another great experience with Catherine and the Griggs Nursery. Went above and beyond in order to pull off a landscape redo before Easter weekend. We had them come back to finish off a couple of other areas we decided to add in. Thank you again for being an expert in your field and customer service.

Excellent nursery in the Carmel Valley. Visited this nursery with my wife and spent several hours wandering their grounds. It's a huge nursery with vegetables, fruit trees, California native plants, succulents, annuals, perennials, evergreen shrubs, and more. They had a large variety of pots and prices seemed fair. We're in the midst of planting a front yard garden and plan to get plants delivered from Griggs shortly.

I would have never known of this place if it wasn't for a gift certificate. While the lady isn't fascinated with taking care of the various bits of nature alive in our home, I am actually quite obsessive about it. I love every thing to do with plants and trees and sometimes wish I had the time to just bonsai *EVERYTHING* and make a miniature Eden to inspire others about the beauty of creation. /pause & refocus Talking to a few people working here, the plants in the nursery will change according to the seasons. I'm currently interested in setting up different fruit trees in my backyard as well as some GARGANTUAN pines (buy small, smile as it grows big enough to build an ark) and the employees were extremely helpful in every manner. Considering to redo your backyard with new plants and young trees? You're in LUCK...Griggs is definitely the right destination. Yelp 100: 71/100

Why have a cafe in a garden centre ?... Back in the UK there's a garden centre called 'Hayes' in the Lake District (north of England). It's quite spectacular but used to bemuse me for this exact reason. why in the heck would anyone think a garden centre was a destination location ! Fast forward many years and we stumble on Griggs in Carmel valley on a sunny day and I could easily see the opportunity to open a little tea room there and wouldn't be surprised if they charged an entry fee just to soak in the spectacle. Suffice to say it was a vibrant and exciting and tingled the senses. It seems silly to recommend a trip to a garden centre but I'd bet this is one will lower the blood pressure, relax those aches and pains in your shoulders and make you appreciate all that is fine with Mother Nature..OK, mock me now but if you get down to Carmel, take the 5 minute drive out into the valley and see it soon !

This is it! This is the local plant spot you can feel comfortable to ask questions, get…read morerecommendations, and spend time quietly looking with or without shopping assistance. Prices as expected (NOT overpriced), discount refill programs on soil and fertilizer, locally grown more exotic baby plants, and plenty of inventory and variety to choose from. The owner, Jess, just has such a calm, everywoman vibe about her, and she is so genuinely helpful! Not fake friendly or preoccupied/bothered or standoffish and know-it-all...just helpful and wise and experienced and upfront! I've seen her handle nosy, pushy customers with sincere help and without making them feel bad...that speaks volumes to me. Stepping into her shop, her absolute lil oasis, makes my day slow down a little and makes me take a deep breath and start looking at things a lil more closely. She's taken this space and just lushed it out to the max! It looks freaking incredible. I see from her regular social media posts that she designs and maintains indoor plant displays in multiple local businesses, too. I generally don't have any trouble finding parking when I come during the week, which is a treat for Carmel! I love this little location! Only about 1.5 blocks off Ocean Avenue, but a much more relaxed and friendly and everyday small town vibe is found in this shopping center. This place is a gem! Get here and support this lovely woman and her shop STAT! You will not be sad that you stopped in! Should be 10 stars!
