We went there for brunch this past weekend where they were offering "unlimited mimosas " which is a great sales pitch but don't actually expect it. Our waitress literally disappeared (as in NO WHERE TO BE SEEN) for almost 40 minutes at a time. For over $200 in brunch, the service was horrific. The each of us got 2 mimosas in the 2 hours. The food was good but outside of that, spend your money else where. We asked to speak to a manager after half of our table for their food and almost 35 minutes later the other 2 people got their food. They brought out ANOTHER WAITRESS TO PRETEND TO BE THE MANAGER we had trash piled up on our table since no one bothered to come by to clear off our table. We reserved a private room in Sept. for Saturday October 24th they double booked us . We had to settle for a table on the main floor. When I arrived at 9pm (my reservation time) our table was not ready. I WAITED 1hr and 30mins for a table I reserved!!! In addition my friend asked to put my bday cake in the fridge and was told by one server it was $25 just to put it in the fridge. Another server told us it was $25 to put the cake in the fridge and an additional $5 for the sparklers. At 10pm (remind you my reservation was at 9) we had to settle for a table outside with one heater when it was 48 degrees. Our table was served individually (each person got their food at different times). Our serves Narju and Khay were very nice and did everything in their power to ensure we had a good time. I, and two others, ordered food via telephone on July 4, 2020. We were told the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We arrived approximately 20 minutes later. Once in the car with the food, we decided to check the order. My niece had ordered chicken tenders, which were missing. She went in to let them know, and they said they would work on it. A few moments later, she came out to the car to check the rest of the order. The caesar salad she ordered contained a small amount of lettuce and a bit of grated cheese. She took that back in also, wanting to know where the rest of her salad was. She was told that the restaurant, which only had two other patrons, had no more lettuce for the day (2pm). She was refunded the $9.00 for the salad. My niece was in the restaurant for approximately 1.5 hours more, waiting for her tenders. She came out periodically, as the owner was "checking on them," and "they should be out soon." By the time the tenders arrived, all the remaining food had become cold, as it had been sitting for over an hour. This was my first and last experience at this restaurant! You would think the owner would be concerned about the lack of caring on the part of his staff, but it seems he is the same way. I came here for brunch with girlfriends to catch up. The food was good and the bottomless drinks were very large but the my plan wasn't to eat in a nightclub. The music was so loud I couldn't hear my own voice. I could have dealt with this later in the evening but it's not my preference with French toast. This spot is downtown and is nice looking. The drinks are strong and the masks and sanitizer is strongly enforced. There are really cool swings near the bar where you can sit and drink or take photos. However, the service is HORRIBLE. We were sat at a table for 6 when our party had 7. Then we had to stand their while the waitress moved the two tables together after we complained there wasn't enough room. Despite ordering our drinks at the same time they did not come out together. Then despite ordering food at the same time it took forever and didn't come out at the same time. My order came first followed by 5 other orders about ten minutes later. The appetizer never came. My last friend received her food after having spoken to the manager. By the time her food came the rest of the table was finished. It really ruined the mood for us. It really was poor service. This spot doesn't cater to social distancing whatsoever. When I went, no tables were 6 ft apart and were barely even 2 inches apart. The tables were so close I couldn't even stand up because the people behind me were too close. Not one waiter had a mask on correctly in sight and if they had one on it wasn't up and we're speaking to customers face to face mask down. The food was mediocre and same applies for the drinks. There is no capacity level and they allow as many people to come in as they want. They also do not have a limit as to how many people can come with a group as there were big families and parties. The theme is cute but the place is too small and the DJ is inside so it's too loud to even have a conversation. Terrible experience. Booked a reservation beginning of the week for my sister's birthday. Get to the restaurant at reservation time was told restaurant was at capacity and it would be a 15 min wait. The wait turned out to be 45 mins which was cool. The kicker was we got to the door and was told to wait while our table was being cleaned. They cleaned the table and another hostess sat another group at the table that was reserved for us. My sister was HIGHLY upset as we waited for over an hour at this point when we could've just went to another restaurant. This amazing place is the same space of the former Barnum and short-lived JB Vibe restAurant. It is an EXTREME BREATH OF FRESH AIR for the lounge scene in Downtown Bridgeport. The place is clean, the ambience is amazing; dining area, a bar, and well lit with neon lights and rope swings (literally) in the space. They even have a section for private events. It's Black owned, The food is authentic Jamaican/Caribbean fusion, the drinks are great and there was a DJ playing great music. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something to do on a Friday night and want good food and good vibes. I visited the restaurant on a busy Sunday afternoon and was seated rather quickly, but did not receive service for about 40 minutes. When someone finally came they gave our table water and then disappeared again. Disappointingly, there was a very limited brunch menu and the restaurant was unable to accommodate my friend who was a vegetarian. My friend ultimately had to order just a waffle and was still charged $40. As for the food...it was HORRIBLE! When our food arrived everything was cold. A friend ordered shrimp and grits and it seemed as if it had been sitting and was tasteless. When we brought it to the manager's attention she offered another meal that was cold and burnt. We had another waitress come to check on the table and offered to have us voice our concerns to the owner of the restaurant who was too busy chatting with friends to rectify our issues. Whew chile where does one begin. My sister reserved a table for her birthday dinner two weeks prior for her party for 8pm. At 8 we were told to wait 20 mins because they overbooked at 9 we along with two parties that also pre-booked weeks in advanced were still waiting with promises that our tables were being cleaned up and we were about to be seated now. Their greed really overpowers their judgement and safety regulations for covid. There was a sign on the door that said 32 people per limit but there were at least AT LEAST 65 people there. Our party had came from Long Island NY Buffalo and PA to celebrate. 9:30 we are still waiting still be told our table was being prepped and promised we would be taken care of and not get kicked out at 10 even though restaurants had to be closed at 10 due to covid. The health department came at this time telling them they had to close soon and were not allowed to let anyone else in though the security guard Nick is still making promises to us. He kicks us back outside in the dead of winter instead of the waiting area telling us 5 mins then proceeds to tell us he could not let us in due to the restaurants having to close. Me rushing from work and getting ready from Long Island 4 months Pregnant and last meal being at 2pm was now PISSED. They kept lying to us knowing they were never prepping our table. They had 90 mins seating limit but were unable to kick parties already seated out and no one reinforced it. They gave us free platters of food to go home with after one of party guest made her complaints loud and clear at the restaurant so I guess there is there one star. On a date night with the husband , we just came from the art trail party at reads art space and we knew that there was a new Caribbean restaurant where the old Barnum publik was. So since it was right next door we decided to stop in for dinner. I enjoy Caribbean food but I'm not a complete expert about it, but everything was delicious today; I had the Rasta pasta. It's Ina spicy cream / Alfredo sauce. You can have it mild or spicy. I had it spicy and it was perfect. It had some spice to it, but it was enjoyable and you could finish the whole plate. I want a jar of the sauce, it was so good. My husband had the burger that came with plantains in it. He enjoyed the savory sweet and salty combo of the two flavors . The owner came out and introduced himself which we thought was very nice, and even brought over a plate of their cornbread. It delicious. It's not that cheap crumbly cornbread. It's made from scratch and is more like a cake /pancake consistency. Definitely can taste some cinnamon or nutmeg in it too. We had drinks with dinner ; my husband had a mule, it was pretty strong and tasted great. The atmosphere here is fun, the food and drinks and service are great.
