This has been on our list and we finally got around to checking it out and can't wait to already return. This place is a gem in Black Rock and we need to get the word out! Restaurant is beautifully decorated. We sat at the bar and enjoyed their happy hour and bites as well as entrees. Had plenty to bring home for lunch tomorrow. Food was phenomenal! The salmon fried rice is a sight to see and will satisfy your taste buds. Our service was a wonderful and everything came out pretty quickly.

Mother's Day weekend + a Friday night meant this restaurant was extremely busy, especially with us booking a same day reservation. As first time visitors, we expected a bit of a wait for service, and while it did take some time to get started, the staff was clearly working hard with a packed crowd. The best part? The food and drinks came out pretty quickly, and everything was absolutely delicious. From start to finish, the flavors did not disappoint. We truly enjoyed our experience and are already looking forward to coming back again!

The food here is outstanding and everyone was pleasant. We tried a few different drinks off their menu and each was as good as advertised. They have the tap system from previous tenants but no beers on tap yet.

Enjoyed my experience here a lot! I came here for happy hour and got some drinks and bites along with an entree. The happy hour options are great, lots of variety for drinks and bites. Food menu is large with lots of choices also. I got the garlic jumbo prawns - amazing!! The interior decor was beautiful as well. Great Thai spot! Only thing I didn't love was the parking which can get crowded and you end up street parking.

I've read all the rave reviews and had to go check this place out. Ironically, this was the old Black Rock Social and my husband I had a fond memory of his band playing there 2 weeks before they closed. Anyway.... The decor was beautiful. I couldn't even recognize the place but it was bright and airy. The food selection was great. I got the Masaman and my husband got the Drunken Noodle. We also got the Thai Dumplings. Everything was on point. Delicious, good portions but just a tad too salty for me. The service apart from one small issue was great. I asked for pineapple in my masaman and the waitress argued with me that it changes the flavor. Um... yes I know that. But she was so insistent that I relented. Always give the customer what they want... But it was still good. We left there with our belly's full and content. When I'm in the area, I'll go back. I do have my main staple closer to me. But I highly recommend this place.

I wasn't hungry but the menu looked delicious and my drink was excellent. "Like whippets, they dance in a curly-queue dance Of pulses…read moreand ringing and campfire chants Birds of a feather are flocking outside" (Phish) There are so many nice restaurants in Fairfield, picking one for lunch can be a formidable task. But because it was so cold today, we picked one close to the train station for our lunch for three, and it turned out to be a great choice after our meal at Ryebird. Their website describes Ryebird as "A Neighborhood joint where friends and family meet" and that seems pretty much spot-on. The bar is gorgeous, the dining room is beautifully decorated with red painted walls, dark distressed wood tables, and stainless-steel colored chairs. The service was great, I mean outstanding. Our server Leo was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a few conversations with Manager Thomas who was very charming and a real joy to talk with. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! OK, here we go! Our party of three went with a small Chicken Soup for The Soul with Cheesy Bread ($14) for me. What's Cheesy Bread? Well, how about three toasted pieces of gooey pizza bread topped with a feta spread and olive oil. My brother-in-law went with their Daily Pot Pie ($23 for Chicken today), with a house-made buttery crust, scratch-made filling, and an added $4 up-charge for a gravy boat full of mushroom bourbon gravy. My wife went with a Roaster sandwich ($18) of pulled chicken, cheddar, BBQ sauce, pickled onion, on a baguette served with fries. We also had an order of Lemon Chili Zucchini ($9) for the table. The food was wonderful, as both the pot pie and the sandwich were devoured. My soup was a pretty big bowl for a "Small" but was loaded with more carrots and celery than chicken. I asked our server Leo if they had any hot sauce, and he asked me how hot did I want it? Ryebird has a few different types in increasing levels of hotness. I asked for the max, and he brought out a little ramekin of some of the hottest hot sauce I ever had. It was pretty much at my upper level of tolerance. I chatted about it with the restaurant manager on the way out, and he was pretty sure it was made with Ghost Peppers, so that explained my thermonuclear mouth numbing reaction. Anyway, we loved our visit to Ryebird. Their food is reasonably priced, portions are generous, the quality is high, and the service is exceptional. What more do you want in a Fairfield County lunch?

Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.

The menu is some what tied into the Puglia region, which is the heel of the boot. I could tell the italian dialect from the owner when he was speaking to one of the staff, it immediately gave me a good feeling that this restaurant would be really good. The appetizers we had were all really good, we had the fried calamari, the grilled Octopusss, the fried zucchini flowers and thd hummus special. Sorry no pics of these. We had a couple of the Orrechiette Barese, Chicken parmigiana, a pasta special of fettuccine with shrimp in a cream and pesto sauce, another pasta with cavatelli, shrimp and cream and pesto sauce, really couldn't see the pesto, probably could have used a little more or maybe a little finishing with the pesto on top. Service was good and the owner came around to introduce himself and we got a complimentary round of their homemade creama di limencello to finish off the experience. Wr wouldn't hesitate to go again the next time we are in town to see a show.
