My friend and his wife have been telling about this place for over a year…read more.. We finally had the chance to go last weekend on a whim we came here. Though my review is only about the quality of the food, I just want to say, the service here is warm and attentive. The menu is in three section a salad section to which you can make into a table d'hôte for 5$. Then there's the plats favoris section which is a table d'hôte section with various choices. Come with either soup, or salad, or entree and dessert. It's 25$, what? How is this possible! The last section meats table d'hôte, 45$. Has filet mignon, lamb shank, lamb chops and veal. We ordered from the plats favoris for 25$ The entrée was mushroom puff pasty, it was flaky, mushroom was creamy but not too rich, well balanced mushroom to pastry ratio. For this to be part of a table d'hôte impressed me. Next I chose the butternut squash ravioli in rosée sauce. Ravioli cooked just right, filling was nice and sauce well balanced. I had the mascarpone with raspberry jam dessert. Light sweet and tangy, nothing fancy but nice. All this for 25$? See you next week?

All I have to say is that our 9 family members were all very happy that we found a quality restaurant at all levels (food, service, pricing and atmosphere). We found a gemstoneand this is our "go to" everytime we have a family get together. Unfortunately, my wife and I live in Colorado, although I am convinced that my family members will pay a visit to the owners for a 5-star experience at a very affordable cost. I wish them a full restaurant on all the 4 nights they are open. A must try and you will definitely make it one of your favorite.

Nice sunny day to sit out and enjoy some seafood and sangria. I was sat quick, I beat the Friday…read morelunch rush by a little bit. I ordered quickly. Calamari for an app. A lobster roll for my meal and a drink. The sangria came quick and was good, a little syrupy. The calamari and lobster roll took a while, but maybe they are a bit more relaxed in Canada. No one was available, even for me to waive down, no check ins either. Again, probably customary in Montreal, I don't know the culture that well. The calamari was pretty looking, but it was tough as a well done leather glove. The "lobster roll" had about two pieces of lobster, the rest was small shrimp. The flavor was good, the bun was perfect. But still, for the price, a disappointment. The French fries were delicious but soggy. Maybe that was a spin on Poutine.??? I sat for an hour without being able to get someone. I will not return.

Open kitchen with two chefs and two front of the house staff who were warmly welcomed me and were professional throughout. Had the oysters, clean and crisp with a nice Spanish Cava. Tried the lobster croquetas and the anchovy toast points. Tapas were in point, the anchovies were a tad too salty for me. Ended up ordering the catch of the day, butterflied sea bream. It was the piece de resistance. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the cheek/head was juicy all the way to the tail. The sides were fine, the papas bravas could have been crispier, but fine. Green beans were nicely seasoned. Had half and waved the white flag. Paired it with a tasty Albariño. Great start to quick sojourn in Montreal.

We made reservations here--absolutely necessary, as the place was packed--and I'm so glad we did…read more Just note that reservations are for two hours, and they will remind you. Located right in the heart of Vieux Montréal, just a three-minute walk from our hotel, this spot has a cozy wine cellar vibe with dark interiors, comfortable chairs, and stone walls. We started with bone marrow, a first for both of us. My dining companion wasn't a fan, and I'm still processing--it was rich, greasy, and intensely flavorful. An experience, for sure. The complimentary hot bread was absolutely delicious, served with butter. We devoured it so fast our server brought us a second round, equally hot and fresh. Bless her. My lamb was divine--perfectly cooked and served with beautifully steamed and seasoned vegetables (cauliflower and zucchini) plus potatoes. My companion's salmon filet was equally impressive; she raved about it. We finished with dessert: I had the crème brûlée while my companion demolished the cheesecake. No photos because we ate everything too quickly--a sure sign of a great meal. This place is rightly popular, and I absolutely loved it. Make a reservation and go.

Light was quite beautiful building an ambiance of elegance. The staff were friendly and reservations online were quick and easy; yes they had our reservation and took us to our seat as soon as we arrived. The service was excellent, we did ask to change a dish after ordering and it never came, but I attribute that to a language barrier, me not knowing their language and them trying to be clear. We did order one dish that we've had before that was definitely not fresh, and I would still have given five stars when we sent it back but the chef argued that's how it should taste, through the waiter checking, and I felt that was worth loosing a star. The rest of the meal was Michelin star ready! Beautiful presentation, delicate flavors, and wonderful aromas. Their drinks were also unbelievable, including the mocktails which tend to fall short in most places, almost an after thought. Overall a great meal and experience, worth the price.
