Decent grilled cheese, but nothing to write home about. I got the Buffalo Chicken one which consisted of grilled chicken, cheddar, and buffalo sauce. There was very minimal chicken and the taste of Frank's Red Hot was overpowering. Fortunately, I love Frank's Red Hot so it was ok but be vary of that if you don't. I would imagine this is a good meal as you're stumbling out of a club at 2:00am and conveniently enough, they're open until 3:00am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I think next time I will try the "Make Your Own" option because I feel like there is definitely potential there, seeing all the ingredients. read more

We went here last night. I was not sure what to expect but I would call this a sandwich shop set in an old house. Sort of a cozy vibe to it. There is a small dining room in front with tables and a kitchen in back where you order your grilled cheese panini. I have to give credit for whoever came up with this idea....very clever......grilled cheese, soup, chips and soft drinks. Last night there were 2 soups to choose from: cheddar broccoli (which I got) and tomato which my companion got. He ordered a chicken and cheese panini and I got the veggie panini. The food came right out and the soup was excellent while my panini was good but a bit too greasy for my liking. The only other complaint I have is the noise level in the dining room. Not sure if just a bunch of loud mouths were there last night but really ...I couldn't hear my companion talk. Instead I had to listen to some loudmouth from India carrying out about the castes in India and how he was one step down from a Brahmin. I mean, please, turn it down 20 decibels! When that loudmouth left, another group with a very loud man in it came in and proceeded to talk very loudly. The food was ok but there's some things that bothered me. I ordered the "Avacado" sandwich, which was made up of grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, tomato, avacado and ranch dressing. I also got a side of tomato soup. 1. The avacado was the mushed spreadable kind that tasted like it was the packaged kind. I was expecting sliced hass avacado. 2. The chicken for some reason seemed like it was processed. By that I mean it had the texture of tuna from the can like chicken of the sea, except it was chicken. 3. The tomato soup tasted like it was out of the can. Good execution, solid menu, nice place, great location- overall a welcome addition to Morristown's dining options. First, the food - sizable sandwiches, quality ingredients, and only a bit greasy. While walking in I passed a group where one said "$6 for bread and cheese? No way!" But as it is good quality, done very well, with some great twists on classics (PB&J!) it's more like "Yes way." So yes it is a bit expensive, but definitely quality. The venue itself is small with a few tables (about 20 seats total) which means that a lot of business will probably be to go, which is fine as the Green is a great place to take a sandwich for lunch. Food took about 5 minutes to come out, not too bad. This spot is perfect for late night food - Morristown customers are already used to waiting a bit for quality drunk food (like Raul's) so all good there. Ran through the cold rain, my boss in tow, because I wanted a soup and grilled cheese. He threatened to hold a potential cold against me if the gallop through the rain was not worthwhile. One day at lunch time, we all wanted to try something different at work. I had seen an advertisement for this place so I decided to give it a try. I was not impressed when we went to go pick up our order. The service was awkward and slow. I did not have a heart attack from my super greasy sandwich (but I easily could have), I also didn't love it. Great idea. Why didn't I think of this??!! The menu had a great selection of different types of sandwiches, and if you didn't like the sandwich selection you could make your own! The sandwiches come with chips as well. The Roma sandwich was great: cheese was melted, chicken was great, pesto sauce was great, peppers well-cooked. I went around 12:45 full lunch, and they had a pretty steady flow of people coming in and out. Finding a table was easy. I wonder if they're open for the latenighters at the bars... Drunchies aside, this place was a disappointment. While I thought the grilled cheese was passable, the tomato soup was a lame duck. Bad tomato soup is just unacceptable at a grilled cheese place. I got a grilled cheese with macaroni and cheese and pulled pork. The filling was good, but the bread had gotten soft by the time I got it home (a short drive, no longer than 5 minutes). This sogginess denoted that the bread was a) not toasted long enough or b) the bread was unbutterred so it never got that crispy crunch. This meal could have been salvaged by a good soup but, alas, this was not to be. The soup was standard Cambell's style, which I can easily make at home for fraction of the price. Heard about this from a friend and went in for lunch today around 2:15. I looked over the giant menu mounted on the wall and settled on the #4, The BCT: the bacon, cheddar and tomato. I figured it'd be a good standard entree into their fare. The gal at the counter couldn't have been more helpful. The sandwich was very big -- like a sandwich and a half; they use a very long bread. I've been back a second time, post bar, and it was just as good, if not a little better. At the end of the day, it's a little expensive for a cheese sandwich, so I won't be taking the kids here; but for a quick lunch or post-libation nosh, it's near perfect. read more

Went to the Grilled Cheese Factory today (12/30/11) for lunch, around noon. I asked if they had munster cheese, and was told yes, so I ordered an original with multi grain bread and munster, and my wife ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese, also with munster. We also got 2 sodas and our bill was $21, which is a little on the higher side for lunch in Motown, but I do love grilled cheese. We sat down and a minute later the guy came over to us and said the delivery truck didn't aririve today yet, so there was no munster. My wife changed hers to cheddar, and I said american. The guy seemed confused because he picked trash up at another table and came back and asked me again what cheese I wanted. A few mintues later, my wife's pulled pork and cheddar came out. She ate slowly since my food wasn't out yet, but a good 5-6 minutes went buy after her food came out, and my food was nowhere to be seen. I went up to the register and asked for the status, and I think the guy seemed to have forgotten to place my order with the cook or something, because I had to wait a few more minutes and then a different guy brought out my order and apologized. I also had ordered extra pickles but that was forgotten too, but I just dropped it. Overall the food gets almost a 5 because of the large sized portions of grilled cheese, but the service (granted it's only been open 2 weeks) can definitely be improved quite a bit, so I'd give that a 3. It wasn't even that crowded today at 12:30 PM but they still goofed on my order quite a bit. I'll definitely go back since I love grilled cheese and live very close, so hopefully the service improves by the time I return... read more

It was packed there last night at 2:00 am but it's probably because they are placed strategically outside of a bar. The key reason that I am giving them 1 star is because the cashier (female, shoulder length brown hair) last night wanted to basically rip me off. Sorry, even if your food was good, that kind of dishonesty means I won't be coming back here. She charged me $17 for a tuna melt and 3 bottles of water. That was fine, I knew what I was getting into at 2am - $8 for the sandwich and then $3 each for the bottles of water. Right after I paid, she said, "oh.. I didn't charge you for the water.." Umm, yeah, you did. After I confronted her on that, she just said, "oh", and turned to the cooks and laughed/shrugged. As far as the food itself, a grilled cheese is a grilled cheese. The sandwich is actually kind of small, and expensive for the price. That, coupled with the poor service, is what landed the one star rating from me. I reviewed this place less than a year ago but I went to it again the other day and it did not disappoint!!! I saw in my last review that I wanted to go back and try the pulled pork mac and cheese sandwich and without even realizing it, that is exactly what I got this time! LOVED it. The pulled pork was juicy and had a great bbq taste to it, and the mac and cheese complimented it perfectly. My goal is totally to try everything on this menu. I will be back!! read more

My friend and I ended up splitting chipotle chicken and buffalo chicken sandwiches (which the sweet girl at the counter split and basketed for us without us having to even ask!) I finally went out for lunch one day with two co-workers, one of which suggested this little place. I do love grilled cheese on occasion; I eat pretty healthy otherwise, so it was nice to have a little cheat for lunch. I ordered the bacon-grilled cheese on multigrain bread. The sandwich is pretty big, so you can get away with eating half and saving the rest. Our sandwiches were made pretty quickly; me and my one coworker got the pretty traditional stuff, whereas our other coworker got the chicken and mozzerella with roasted red peppers. They have a menu of sandwich options, and you can also build your own. Had a local coupon in the mail and walked there for lunch on a weekday with my boyfriend. The place is set up near the green and has about 6 tables inside. Walk - in and head to the back to order. Plenty of choices to choose from (I think there were 20!!) I went for the crazy pulled pork and mac n' cheese - EPIC!! Lol - I knew this wasn't going to be a "skinny" grilled cheese place and I ate the whole thing. Definitely worth a visit!!
