Blue Ridge Grill has no affiliation to Mike's Grill yet it has added their reviews to this new restaurant that opened January 2026 (Mike went back to Greece, this restaurant was clear to say no affiliation.) They advertised prime rib on Thursday nights. I went down to learn no one put the prime rib in the oven therefore it would not be ready til 6 pm!! (I was there at 5 pm. The menu said it was available at 4 pm. It was also a waste of $10 in gas. The ad they posted had no time the specials started. This restaurant needs to do a better marketing job and better prep work. Might explain why the whole parking lot was empty at 5 pm. (Plus they use AI generated ads which don't actually share THEIR products.) This place permanently lost my business. ever. All photos posted are attached to Mike's Grill not Blue Ridge. This place was recommended to us by a local police officer, so thank you sir! We ordered fried green tomatoes to start. And they were served lava hot! The tomatoes were nice and firm but there was little to no seasoning. Fortunately there was a ranch dip and some hot sauce. That made them delicious! The grilled shrimp dinner was absolutely delicious. Shrimp were seasoned well. The coleslaw was cold and creamy, a little sweet for me but went well with the shrimp. The food was delicious, the server, Vanessa, was friendly and attentive. The ambiance had changed, since the remodel and name change. The interior is beautiful and the booths are comfortable. I had the Turkey Panini and it was delicious with real roasted turkey. My brother Jonathan had the Turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes sandwich. He loved it and said it was very succulent. My Mom and my brother Bill shared the chicken Parmesan with angel hair pasta. They are real particular about their chicken Parmesan, but they loved it! They said it was very flavorful and liked the provolone cheese and the tender chicken. We also had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. It was very good. The food was good and the service was friendly and efficient. The dining area is very bright and light thanks to a huge picture window. My husband got the southern fried chicken. The pieces were lightly breaded and freshly fried. Did I mention they were huge? I got the Reuben which was really good- and collards for a side dish... they were so tender and delicious. The Nutella stiff French toast with slice banana & strawberries was divine! Delicious. My neighbor are regular at this place. My friend suggested we meet up. We try to meet up once a month. For the new year this was it. Staff were pretty attentive, especially with the coffee. My friend got the biscuit and gravy and her reality enjoyed it. Ambiance is a typical diner and it was clean and they have a good breakfast menu. They don't serve lunch for breakfast that start at 11am my husband wouldn't like it for breakfast. Mike's is a great place for some "home cooked" type meals. It's big, so there's plenty of seating. And they have an enormous menu so there's probably something for everyone. Service is always great; really friendly folks. We've been several times but this last time, I tried the fried chicken. That is some seriously good fried chicken. No knocks on the chicken at all! We dined on a Saturday night around 5:30. There was a handful of people so it was somewhat quiet. Just what we like. They added some booths and moved some around. We were seated close to the kitchen door. The menu had lots of choices along with some specials. I had the chicken Marsala, my husband had the chicken pot pie with a house salad for a side. The food was very tasty. The presentation was quite different than what we've had at many other places across the country. His chicken pot pie did not come with a pastry crust or top but came in a soup bowl with a biscuit cut in half and toasted on the side of the bowl. He said it was very tasty but missed the pastry on top. He asked that the salad be brought out before the pot pie and it was...about 2 minutes before. I think our server forgot about it. The menu described the chicken Marsala as grilled chicken with rigatoni in a Marsala sauce with onions and button mushrooms. The dish came with the rigatoni in Marsala sauce and a small amount of grilled chicken placed on top. The chicken was not cooked in the Marsala sauce but it was tasty and juicy. So was the Marsala sauce. I had to stir the chicken into the sauce to get the Marsala taste in the chicken. We enjoyed both dishes although different than what we expected. The description on the menu was spot on. I just didn't expect the chicken not to be covered in the sauce. The one thing that ruined our meal and the reason I gave it only 3 stars was a man I believed was the manager. He walked into the kitchen at one point yelling where was his southern fried chicken and fried chicken. The entire dining room heard it. A few minutes later he pushed open the kitchen door and yelled for Vanessa. Not sure where Vanessa was but I didn't see her till she came in to the dining room and into the kitchen from the far end of the dining room. So unprofessional for a manager to do first and second, he disturbed our dining and those of others in the room with his yelling for food and server. We will be back because we enjoyed the food but won't be going back after a second visit if there is yelling so loud it disturbs our meal. We were a frequent customer of both Mikes restaurants since the 70's and never had our dining experience ruined by the owner or manager yelling. We're hoping he reads this and learns from it. read more

I'm not a review writer normally, but feel absolutely compelled to tell you about the best meal I've had in forever! My cousin and I went for supper last night and she ordered a toasted reuben sandwich. It looked good. She claimed it was delicious and very generous. I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf served with mashed potatoes and gravy and a serving of green beans. The beans were so good that I was tempted to order some to go! The meatloaf was equally delicious and literally melted in my mouth. Our waitress was prompt, efficient and friendly. Management even checked in with us to confirm our satisfaction. Our Waitress was Jordan......she was great. Always filling up our glasses, asked 4 times if the food was ok, always smiled very attentive. Very prompt with the food...knew the menu very well and kept the conversation very light and funny. You should make her a shift supervisor/manager and give her a raise. Don't look up at the mold blowing off the A/C ducts in the main dining area. If they can't keep those clean ......... On top of that, we watched them, bring our order to a table next to us. This was my first visit to Mike's Grill in Bartow, FL. I was in town on a business trip and Mike's was a suggestion by a staff member at the hotel I was staying in. I'm glad I took her suggestion, because Mike's Grill didn't disappoint. I was immediately greeted with a smile and was seated. After only being seated for a short while, my presence was graced by Marissa who also greeted me with a smile. After taking my order, I watched how the staff interacted with the patrons. The staff was very professional and patient to the large amount of guests on hand. My food was served as ordered and tasted great. It was cooked perfectly. My overall experience is a positive one. If you like being seated at a damaged table, having your rolls, soup, salad, and main course brought out all at the same time, and having it all taste terrible, then this is the place for you! The beef orzo was cold and mediocre at best. The salad, although they do toss it before you, was not fresh at all and had several wilted pieces in it. My son ordered the steak on a stick and fries off the kids meal, while I ordered the prime rib and steamed broccoli. The only thing that had some semblance of taste was the steak on the stick. His fries looked and tasted like they were cooked hours ago. The prime rib (which was ordered medium) was cold and had absolutely no taste to it. Even the horseradish that was served with it was watered down/almost tasteless. The broccoli tasted like it was steamed with fish. The taste of fish on the broccoli was overpowering to the point it was inedible...unless you like your vegetables to taste like fish. I had bacon wrapped meatloaf and the bacon was mostly raw I picked around ate the middle of the meatloaf only, I won't eat raw back on. Told the waitress and nothing was done. All of the above!!! We went there tonight for dinner and it wasn't what we expected, the waitress asked if we would like some free chicken soup and it was cold. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and it took about 15 minutes to make, when it came out the meat was cut thick and very tough, the onions were tough and crunchy and the cheese was falling out the side! The mashed potatoes were cold so I called the manager and told him and he ordered me something else but at this point I didn't want anything else so he said that he would take it off the bill. A few minutes later some lady came over and said that I had eaten a few pieces and she told me that she would discount part of it.
