We ordered half pepperoni and cheese pizza and a Gluten Free Pepperoni pizza. We ordered it to go as we were taking it over to my son's apartment for lunch. We ordered at the restaurant and the pizzas would be ready in 15 minutes. They were able to make the Gluten Free pizza with no cross-contamination! Looking inside, the place was very cozy looking and the staff were friendly. The smell of the pizza during his car ride made me so hungry. As soon as we settled in, I grabbed a slice and took a bite and it was delicious. The cheese was cooked perfectly and the sauce was tangy. I probably could have eaten it all! The gluten free pizza looked good and I was informed that it was really really good. Overall, the takeout experience was good! Excellent. Service was great- prompt, I never needed anything, I was offered fresh plate between salad and pizza courses. I had plans to shop the area after and my sever even offered to hold my pizza Togo boxes for me to pick up afterwhich was very considerate. We like Grimaldi's and usually have a good experience, but this time the crust was really burnt for half the pizza so there was a bitter flavor. The other half was ok. The Caprese salad was good. The service was fine. There was no AC however so the restaurant was hot. They had fans but in Dallas heat it was not enough. We sat by the kitchen so we could hear a big argument between two of the employees. I hope the next time is better because in general the pizza is good and I like the coal fired oven. read more

You know if you don't like listening to Frank Sinatra in the background, then this is not the place for you! I loved it! I get the NY vibe and very eclectic atmosphere. I was offered a table or the bar since I was solo I just sat the bar. It was not very busy during the lunch hour but that the way I like it. The bartender greeted me and I knew what I wanted so I was able to place my order immediately. I ordered the 12" BBQ chicken pizza, Caesar salad and a lemonade (l now I was craving It) . The salad itself was enough. It was so good and the Parmesan cheese shavings wow to me impressive. I don't know if I was hungry or not I ate the whole thing. When the pizza hit the table I was ready for it and it did not disappoint either. Well balance flavor. I wish there was one I. The Apple Walnut salad is always delicious. I think I like this more than the pizza. The pizza is hit or miss depending on the location. It's typically pretty good, a little light on the toppings but good. This time the crust was soft and seemed undercooked. We didn't complain because we filled up on salad and they were having issues with the fire alarm going off (happened with all businesses on that strip). We took it home and tossed it in the air fryer and it was perfect. Service was ok. I had to get a new drink as my glass had lipstick on it. This is a nice place with an old style pizzeria feel. The overhead lights are wine bottles with lights in them which is cool. The pizza is great and the apple walnut salad is to die for. On Tuesday night they have music bingo which was a blast! So fun and Tuesday is half off wine so double bonus! I will be a regular on Tuesdays and am bringing friends- so fun! read more

Awesome food. We got the Don as usual. Added the antipasto for the first time. Very fresh, could have had more basil, but was very good. Service was a bit to be desired today. Luis was our server and between him, another male server and the woman seating people, they just seemed to want to chit chat. They advertise a giant slice that comes out in a New York minute. I did not realize that a New York minute meant waiting 30 mins for a single slice of a pizza. Service is piss poor as a table that came in 10 mins after us got a whole pizza and a single slice served to them all in a matter of 5 minutes. The ambiance is pretty but also very poor. They AC does not work so they have giant industrial sized AC units throughout the building that makes it hard to even hear yourself think. This place needs to be better because everything I experienced today was the worst pizza place in all of Dallas. Servers and everyone there were rude and had RBF for some reason. We came about 5:45 on a weekday and it was pretty busy. We waited for more than 5 minutes to be seated or even acknowledged. One of the guys from the kitchen actually came out to seat us after seeing us standing at the hostess desk for an extended time. We waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to come over. Come to find out. She was the only waitress for about 5 tables. She said the other employees couldn't clock in until a certain time - shrug. We ordered and I specifically asked for light sauce. Well my pizza comes it lathered in red pizza sauce. So the waitress says oh we can remake it, it'll take 5 mins. I said well just add more cheese to balance it it. She responded they couldn't do that because the pizza already touched our table. So the pizza took another 15 minutes and my son didn't want to eat ahead of us so here his pizza is just sitting getting cold as we wait. The pizza came out and it was delicious and we enjoyed our experience but you would think they would've taken $5 or something off for the mixup. We also had to wait another 10 minutes for the check! I don't blame the waitress as she was clearly busy but if other employees are present and your busy, it would make sense to allow them to clock in to help out. But what do I know. Decided to grab some dinner after picking Son up at the airport. He loves Grimaldi's, so he suggested it. We were on board, and on a Saturday night, I might add! Upon arrival, we were worried because they were packed. Surprisingly, they sat us right down! DC, our server, was at our table for our drink order in under 5 minutes. We chose to start with their bruschetta trio for an appetizer. Son recommended the Don and we love a good White pizza, so we chose a large of both to try both. Maybe 15-20 minutes after we ordered, Ethan brought our pizzas to the table. He is the most charming, professional and adorable expediter E-V-E-R. The bruschetta was bomb! We preferred the classic tomato basil, yum... The Don was surprisingly delicious. I generally don't like sausage on my pizza, but the combination of Italian sausage, pepperoni and meatballs was really good. The white pizza was ok. We realized after we ate it, that there's a white pizza with garlic. Tried that one on our next visit, and it was really good! My Grandsons ate an entire small white pizza w garlic on their next sleepover! All in all a great pizza experience. I now have a new pizza restaurant option that is delicious! read more

We loved the pizza (needed a bit of salt we all agreed) but the wait time was close to 2 hrs with a 1 hr quote time. We had to ask for our own water refills, ask for parm and didn't not get a check back on food. I was wanting to add a salad but waitress was not available. I think they are understaffed. Didn't look right so I touched it and it was really cold. I told the bartender and she took it back. Either I wanted it warm at the least or i just wasn't going to eat it. The manager was the one that came over after and. If everything was ok and I explained it to him. He simply shrugged and said "yeah that is why we don't recommend just a slice. There is no way to really warm it up right. I have told them but they don't listen." WOW G.A.P. Right down the road does it amazing all day every day as do several other pizza places. So I am assuming they cook the pizza in the morning then not keep it warmed up(is it in the fridge or is it just sitting out on a counter?!? Hello health department!!) then add a couple toppings and then put it under a broiler for 2 seconds so it doesn't burn and send it out. Hello management.... You do pizza as your main job!! Not gonna lie, Grimaldi's is by far my favorite pizza in the DFW area. The flavor of their thin crust pizzas are just amazing, and with the variety of toppings offered you'll definitely find something you're craving! Also, the Mediterranean salad is delicious...the dressing is pure greatness. I've dined at this location a few times and most of the time service is "ok" but this most recent trip was disappointing to say the least. Ordered two extra crispy large pizzas, one was way smaller than the other, and only one was extra crispy. Ordered a large salad for a party of 5, when the waiter brought it out the salad was small. I mentioned that we ordered a large and he reassured us 3 times that it was in fact a large. Luckily our server came up and took it back for the correct size, but sadly seemed bothered about it. All in all the visit wasn't the best, but it won't keep us from returning to our favorite location up North in Allen. 2/20 stopped again and sadly disappointed again with the amount of toppings on our pizza. read more

It was just ok for me. I do love a coal fired pizza, and I did enjoy that about the margherita pizza that M and I got. But I found the dough to be too bland. I love a pizza that I can enjoy from start to finish, including the pizza bones. Unfortunately, unless the sauce touched the dough, it was too bland and I kept wishing there was something to dip the crust into or that it was just saltier. Also, call it sacriligious but I think that a little bit of hot sauce would have gone nice with it, especially given that we were dealing with a little bit of blandness, and I think it's kinda nuts that a national chain pizzeria does not offer any hot sauce. This last bit is probably a personal preference, but I thought the pizza got cold way too fast, and I actually enjoyed the pizza more when I brought home a couple of slices and was able to reheat it in a pan to get the bottom crispy and the cheese melty. Not sure if this is just how it is, or if the pizza took a little long to get to the table after coming out of the oven. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return to a Grimaldi's. read more

There were a ton of mosquitos so we asked to sit inside, there were open tables and Tiana said it would be 15-20 min. We ordered 2 calzones and it took over 45 minutes. The food runner Megan only brought one calzone out and did not know which one it was. She told us she would go check didn't come back for 15 min and then rolled her eyes and walked off. By the time the second calzone came out the first one was cold because they came out 15 min apart. We were there for 2 hours. The manager Anthony was very accommodating and did discount our meal. Would not recommend this location but will not be returning to a Grimaldi's anytime soon. Calzone burnt on the outside and raw dough on the inside, barely any toppings and keep in mind each topping was an additional $2-3 because it's not included just cheese and sauce are included. read more

I came here with a group at around 1130 and they warned us that the oven wasn't on so that pizzas would take an additional (more than normal) 30 minutes to warm up. I don't know how common this is, but it was really inconvenient. Maybe they should have warmed up the oven prior to opening? The pizza is gorgeous, large, and fairly affordable. Unfortunately it didn't taste nearly as good as it looked. The crust was tough and a bit rubbery. The cheese and toppings were just not satisfying. I couldn't taste any garlic. I went when this location was brand new, and it was less than satisfying. I decided to try it again thinking that the problem may have been that it was just opening. Still unsatisfying, Burnt crust, bland sauce, soggy slices. Picked up my order to go, and service wasn't great either. I paid for a side of ranch, and didn't get it.
