I drove 20 minutes for zalat of problems with this dogsh*t pizza place - with my dogs in the truck in the rain for a fucking 40 dollar pizza that was wrong and the manager refused to help, telling me that he made the pizza himself and assured me the pizza was definitely right.. OK i saw it was missing toppings and knew before i even ate it and well we ate the F'ing pizza and there 100% was missing toppings - MULTIPLE (it was missing the bacon jam and hot honey, literally the 2 addons the specialty pizza was supposed to come with) as shown in picture i provided... we ordered the sweet revenge specialty pizza with mushrooms, extra cheese, red bell peppers, and pepperoni. we pay good for these pizzas and have been good customers for years. the old people who worked there the last few months knew our order specifically. idk if they changed staff or what. - i made sure to speak to the manager and speak nicely but once he told me i was making it up i definitely was angry. he offered no way to help and told me i would have to drive back up there. i ask for his name to and he said he didnt see the relevance. obviously the relevance was to complain. the workers there seem high on drugs other than just weed based on the dark black circles around there eyes... yikes must be good letting them handle food, anyway. the person checking me out seemed like he was waiting for me to leave without me even paying because he was so high. the manager did not care when i told him this. and he refused to give me his name. this place is terrible and the upper management seems to never check on it in my opinion. i even gave the manager the option like i could send him picture of the pizza etc and get a credit for next time but i got no help. i hang up and made this post. very frustrating. 40 dollars wasted... save your money and eat at a place next door or a diffferent pizza place. Called the place that I ordered from and the manager was out but would be right back and call me in 15-20 min. Still an hour later no phone call. Called them back and the same girl answered and was totally surprised that he had not called me. He left for the night. So I will be canceling the bank payout. Going by flavor alone, I'd give it four stars. It's good, not great. Subtracted another star because it was cold. This was the second time I ordered from ZaLat. It was cold the first time, but didn't want to submit a review because I figured it could have been a one-off. Guess not. Took off one more star because of the owner's response. Worked in restaurants for about six years and know customers come up with absolutely ridiculous things to complain about. Wanting warm food isn't one of them. OK, I'm back! So, after six months of eating pizza all over Richardson and some places in Plano, the pizza I have chosen, in my opinion, the "BEST PIZZA IN RICHARDSON " is Zalat Pizzas at City Line. This pizza is super delicious! I have worked for pizza places my entire life and eaten my fair share of pizza. There are several factors that play into my choice. First is food quality. This pizza has top-notch ingredients and cooked to perfection! They still manage to get the pizza done on time, and they are perfect, despite the high volume of teenagers hanging out and delivery drivers constantly in and out. The manager, BJ, is dealing with a lot of factors like that it is hard to find good help and Covid to name just a few. The pizza business itself has changed, but this place and the management are running like a well-oiled machine, in spite of how busy they can get at times. I also ask other customers what they think when I go into any pizza place. The last factor is the price. It is not cheap, but it's not over-priced either. There is an old saying - you get what you pay for! Pizza is no exception. I don't live in the area and was stopping in for lunch since I was running errands around here. I really needed a place to sit down, plug in my computer and do some work. This was definitely not it. I highly debated turning around and leaving to go find somewhere else that could accommodate my needs but the people there were so nice so I went ahead and ordered. As others have said it is pricey Pizza. It was really good but I have had a lot of good pizzas in my day and they were certainly not this expensive. I did eat it immediately in the car afterwards so fresh is best. I understand why people don't want to eat the pizza cold or rewarmed because it definitely doesn't taste as good when you reheat it. Something weird happens to the crust that I've not experienced before from other pizza places. I always rewarm my pizza in the oven and it always works very well but this crust became very chewy and certainly lost a lot of flavor after being rewarmed in the oven. I was getting takeout @ Zalat last Thursday. While the pizza was really good, the service I received was totally unacceptable, specifically from one employee. This employee CUTOFF A SLICE OF MY PIZZA, then ATE It, then gave me my BOX TO GO. I mean - all while pulling this stunt without wearing some freaking gloves or mask, or, hey, closed-toed shoes (that's, right he was wearing open toed shoes working). I asked another employee who this man was and they said something "Kan" or "Cahn", maybe? Abhorrent behavior and unacceptable to have a man like this on staff. I should definitely report this to the health department. The food has been really good in the past, so if this guy is gone I would go back - but this guy shouldn't be there if he can't follow basic social etiquette, food etiquette, let alone health procedures (especially in a pandemic). I don't have a problem with this pizza place in particular the problem that I do have is the fact that they do not seal their boxes for delivery they just have the boxes to where anybody can access the food. They charged extra for every vegetable that comes standard on the Zalat...so be very cautious as I will be...we will probably choose alternative options! The pizza is good and I have come multiple times to the location off 75 and Forest. The past 4 times I have come to this location the pizza has taken an additional 20-30 minutes past the recommended time to arrive the app gives you.
