We frequent this location often. We Always sit on the side with the bartender as our server. He is AMAZING!!!! He has given us his name but we are both terrible at remembering. The service. Terrible service. We waited over 15 minutes for someone to come by and simply ask what we wanted to drink, but no one ever did. We even flagged down an employee, who assured us that someone would be with us shortly. Nobody showed up. After continuing to wait with no service, we decided to leave. As we got up and walked out, not a single employee acknowledged us or even cared. It was as bad as service can get because there was no service at all. Let's start with the warm fuzzy - the food was delicious, there was 3 of us in our party and we had a spring salad and two pizza's - highly recommend - here's the cold prickly - the service was absolutely atrocious, the worst I've experienced in years - we were sat for our 6:30pm reservation in the back corner of the restaurant - no problem, a table is NORMALLY a table - we watched other guests after us get sat AND waited on - in fact, an 8-top was sat right next to us, 10 minutes after our arrival and our assigned waitress went to them first (for the record, when she went to get the 8-top water and take their drink orders, we did NOT know she was our waitress....she had yet to acknowledge us)......when our drink order was finally taken it took almost 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive....it was NOT busy on this Saturday night, restaurant was 60% filled......the waitress came over to our table twice before our pizza arrived telling us it would be a "just a few more minutes"......at no time, did she ask us if we wanted more drinks, despite the fact our glasses were empty - I literally had to walk up to the bar and order a glass of cab for my girlfriend - I do think it was a combination of our location in the restaurant and the fact our waitress was completely clueless......we'll definitely return to Grimaldi's in the future, but will never set foot in this location again....what should have been an enjoyable early Mother's Day celebration turned into an incredibly frustrating and unenjoyable evening read more

The food is always good. The atmosphere is also good, though it can get loud. Service...this is where this place suffers. We've been in several times over the years and it's always hit and miss. I went to the restaurant right on time only to be told he the hostess that apparently there is a 1.5hour window each day that the ovens "self-clean" and aren't operable. I supposedly placed my order right in the middle of this time frame and now my pizza wouldn't be ready for at least another 30 minutes. No online notifications. Oddly, there were patrons in the restaurant all with fresh pizzas, even though the ovens were out of service during that same time. I don't enjoy being mislead or made to return quite a bit later because of the errors. I live in the area and will no longer give my $ to the place. read more

Hey man, I don't know why this place has such low reviews. Really doesn't make sense to me. I used to live in Brooklyn and would go to the original Grimaldi's every chance I got, so when I found out there was one down here in Fort Worth (which was today lol), I placed an order as soon I could. I noticed a lot of reviews about how the pizza was burnt or the toppings were minimal - I don't know, that wasn't my experience at all. Honestly, this pie was the closest I've come to finding a strong New York slice. My only issue was that the pie is a bit overpriced, but I'm not gonna throw any stones. I've tried lots of pizza wherever I travel in an attempt to find something even remotely similar to what I used to eat back home in Brooklyn, and this one got surprisingly close, especially as far as Texas is concerned. Second time here and it didn't disappoint. We had the extra pepperoni with hot honey and it was the bomb!! We got the largest one and ate the whole thing (just 2 of us!). Friends got 1/2 margarita- 1/2 pepperoni hot honey and you guessed it... all gone as well! Service was good and it's kind of a cool place, just a little pricey for pizza. it's alright. first time going and we went when it wasn't so busy, maybe 3 other tables. My sister ordered the ceaser salad and it came out a good like 15 minutes before the rest of our food so that was a bit awkward. Speaking of that, it took a bit longer than expected for our actual pizza to come out considering the crowd. I got a margherita pizza and although yummy, came out a bit burnt -- nothing like what a margherita should look like in my opinion. This location has got be the worst ran restaurant in existence. The pizza is delicious but the service is terrible. My family and I have tried to eat there 5 times in the last year and never can because their air conditioning is broken, they are not staffed at the front of the house or they don't have any cooks in the kitchen. It's become a running joke with my family as to what will be the excuse next time we step in to try and spend money there. Today we thought we'd give it one more shot after seeing the Michael Jackson movie we stopped by, the doors were open and we were greeted by a friendly staff member., however when we said we like to be seated she said their kitchen is closed daily between 3&4. lol.. okay. Pizza is amazing, hands down. One of the only doughs in town that doesn't mess with our digestive tracks. HOWEVER, the only times we've experienced DECENT service, is non peak Times. It's sad. We would frequent more often but the service is never up to our standards... if you want a good tip in this economy, PLEASE for the love of god, be nice to your customers and frequently check on them. More and more are people going to be picky about where they spend their money these days... if you want it to be with you, you must follow thru on why people should be spending their money at your business. Horrible experience. I called and placed an order for a whole Oreo cheesecake 24 hours in advance. I was told it would be ready and drove over an hour to pick it up. When I get there, I waited and waited and was told it would be a few minutes. Later, someone named Keith came out and said I had to order it 48 hours in advance and so they didn't have it. Keep in mind no one told me this before and told me it would be ready. He was very rude and basically just said "sorry my we don't have it. There's nothing else to tell you". This was for a birthday and it's crated such an issue. I am so disappointed in grimaldis, as we frequently visit. I'm most upset about the horrible customer service that was shown today. Grimaldi's is some top-notch pizza! We tried the Lemon Arugula salad, Margherita pizza and Exxtra Pepperoni & Hot Honey pizza, and all were very tasty. The service was great too. My drink stayed full without asking and the server was friendly. All in all a great experience! read more

Giving this place 1 star review as I've gone there multiple times now for dinner and cannot be seated because they are "stoking the ovens" I understand this is sometimes that must be done, I guess daily, but you'd think that 1) they could allow you to be seated if you weren't ordering pizza, 2) be able to tell you when they'd be seating again and 3) just close, or time it better, if you aren't going to be able to seat people while this occurs during dinner time. The hostess was rude, outwardly annoyed when I asked how long the wait may be, and generally not pleasant to engage with. Given that's the first and in some cases only experience people are having with this restaurant you'd think it would be handled differently. Multiple people came in before and after me, so this was the experience of many people on that evening. Sadly I've never had their food so I cannot speak to that but the customer service is awful! I can only speak to the initial ambiance I encountered, which as noted was awful, but from my view it looked like if you were seated it could be very enjoyable past the hostess. read more

Great pizza! We came on Labor Day and they were not prepared. Ere was only one waitress and a bartender that was doubling as a waiter. We did have to go on a waitlist despite the place being half full as a result. Good service though. Once we were seated, we got drinks and order in pretty quickly. We got two pizzas. One with pepperoni and sausage and the other was a white garlic pizza. The white garlic had great garlic flavor. I would definitely order than again. Arrived for dinner, two guys at hostess stand acted like they didn't know what they were doing, one was trying to find tables available the other put my party on a wait list on an IPad with my phone number. Received a text that I was on the waitlist. Went to bar to wait but noticed manager started seating people who were walking in the door. Went back to hostess stand and asked the guy who put me on list for update and he said I was second on list. Again watched the manager come up and seat people walking in door. Went back to hostess stand and asked Manager about my name on waitlist. He stated "we don't have a waitlist right now" I proceeded to tell him that I was put on waitlist by that guy ( and pointed). My son and I went to dine in at this establishment. The decor and ambiance is very 90s New York pizzeria. The staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered the house salad and a 12 inch pepperoni and cuatro formaggio pizzas. The food came out quickly however, the pepperoni was cold in the center and soggy. I was expecting a hot crispy pizza. The sauce left something to be desired. The cheese pizza was very delicious and served slightly warmer. Overall the cost was $66. I went back for a visit after a few years to give it another shot. I enjoy the ambiance, the music and the decor. The service is good. The cocktails are pretty good and priced fairly. The food is disappointing. The nineteen dollar charcuterie board is sad, three strawberries, a few slices of cheese and meats and a spoonful of apple pieces, not worth it. The Don, a supposed meat filled choice, had a small amount of meats and very little cheese for twenty four dollars. The quality and quantity for the prices charged is poor. We visited for the first time last night and I couldn't wait to tell everyone about it. I love to read the worst Yelp reviews before I eat somewhere new. They're usually a decent indicator of the truth. This was no different. If a pizza joint with a coal burning pizza oven has feedback that says stuff like 'so much char I couldn't eat it' or 'crust was so thin I had to get something else to eat', you should definitely give it a try. These are the same people who say their ice cream is too cold and their pretzels are too salty. This was the perfect environment, perfect pizza, perfect service. We were seated right away. Our server, Kennedy, was friendly and attentive. The pizza was crazy delicious. It still is. We took most of it home and I'm eating it for breakfast as I type this. It was equally delicious cold in the middle of the night. The last time I had pizza cooked in a real pizza oven, the char was great but the bottom was soggy in the middle. Not at Grimaldi's. It's perfection. The manager, Harrison, stopped by our table a few times to check in. Very nice young man. Please ignore reviews written by people upset that young employees are having a great time at work. I think some people live their life in a bad mood and try to find things to bitch about. If you go in looking for something negative, you'll always find it but that's a sad way to go through life. I see many more visits in our future and I don't expect them to all be perfect. read more
