She added so many thoughtful personal touches throughout the evening and even let us know about the free bottle of pasta sauce with a $50 purchase, which was such a nice surprise. We arrived pretty late, but the staff never made us feel rushed, even as closing time approached. They continued to provide outstanding service and made us feel like valued guests until the very end. By far the best pizza place here in Arizona. I used to live in Scottsdale so it was nice to revisit my favorite pizzeria! The pizza here is so delicious, you can't beat a coal brick oven pie! It comes out piping hot, crispy and so satisfying! The amazing garlicky red sauce, delicious pepperoni, and fresh mozzarella is out of this world. We opted for the hot honey drizzle on our pizza! We both got our own pizzas -- they don't have different sizes so I ended up with quite a bit of pizza to take home while my son ate his whole pizza. I got a nice bit glass of pinot grigio -- it was really good, I got the 9 ounce. I did notice on the table that the parm cheese looked like it had black flecks in it -- I asked the server what it was and they add some Italian spices to the parm -- it was really good. Speaking of the service -- the server was very attentive -- it was a Wednesday night and wasn't too busy but I always appreciate when they don't leave you sitting for a long time. My son got the pepperoni and sausage pizza and I got the Tuscan Veggie Pizza. I enjoyed my pizza quite a bit and the crust was really yummy and very garlicky!! I had quite the garlic breath after LOL but I love garlic. My son also got the strawberry basil lemonade mocktail -- it was really good and sweet. Having a craving, not wanting to sit in rush hour for the Chandler location, and not wanting the decreasing quality of the Old Town location, we decided to come to the North Scottsdale location. We were pleasantly surprised and loved the pizza. We ordered a pizza with garlic, and there was garlic in every bite! The pizza was perfectly crispy on the bottom, wasn't burnt, and had the most perfect texture, for thinner pizza. The hostesses were welcoming and polite, our server, Paige, was efficient and sweet, and the manager stopped by to check on us. I'm not sure where all the poor reviews are coming from to make their star's go down, but I completely disagree. This location tastes like the old Grimaldi's we originally had 20 years ago. I finally checked out Grimaldi's Pizza, located in the Scottsdale Quarter. We were seated right away and the staff was friendly. It looked like there had been a recent rainstorm that caused a leak as there were a couple of buckets on the floor catching water drops that were coming from the ceiling. We ordered two pizzas, an Exxtra Pepperoni + Hot Honey and a Barbecue Chicken Pizza. It took about 20-25 minutes for them to come out. The crust is quite thin, so it's easy to finish a whole pizza on your own. Overall, the pizza was good. I'd stop by again if I'm in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip just for it. read more

Ordered online for a pick up order. My wife and I had a little change of plans and decided we would just eat in the restaurant instead of picking up and taking home. The hostess informed us that was not allowed and that since we ordered for pick up we would not be allowed to eat in the restaurant. Grimaldi's has been my GO TO pizza for over 11 years. Their pizza is still some of the best. However, over the past year or two the service has gone downhill at a rather fast pace. But, today I did want pizza, so I took a golf partner and headed over to the Northern Ave. shop. We got there close to 3 pm. There was a good crowd all enjoying their meals. We were seated and we were the last to be seated during our visit. We ordered the Lunch special, slice, salad and drink. The drinks came rather quickly. The salads came about 10 minutes later. We finished them and waited. The crowd began to leave. We waited. After 30 minutes I asked our server what was going on. he said they were coming out now. We continued to wait. After another 10min, I inquired again, "oh, one more minute" we were told. Finally about 10 minutes later our slices arrived. They were great, but a 45 minute plus wait for two slices when the restaurant was empty and 4-5 workers just hanging out in the kitchen area was maddening. If you advertise and serve slices, they should be available in a matter of minutes. The product continues to be good, I do not want the service to drive me away. read more

It is with heavy heart that I say Grimaldi's has gone down hill completely. This used to be my favorite pizza place but after my last experience I will not be back. We were put in the waiting list and advised the wait would be 20 min. To our surprise they seated us in 9 mins. After being seated it took 20 mins to get our drinks and another 45 mins to get a pizza. The restaurant wasn't even full. It became clear that the service focus was no longer customers coming in but take out business. We watched nearly 30+ orders leave the kitchen and over 20 pickup orders while waiting. We even thought about calling in an order for faster service. When we addressed this with the server she said this was an ongoing problem. She just laughed...After our pizza arrived it was burnt on the bottom. Worst service experience and pizza I've had. Pizza was good, but compared to our experience last night at a similar "fired" crust pizza, it was average. Temperature was slightly off on the pizza... cheese was not fully melted but was still tasty. We chose to sit outside which was nice, but you are dodging the occasional raven and falling leaves onto your pizza.
