The piza was okay and satisfied the craving. Service was fine, but the taste was a bit overwhelming. Not bad, just average.

The other location on Becker Lane is terrific but this one on FLW is terrible. Not sure why there are so different but make sure you don't go here. I will certainly never return. The pizza was dreadful and it looked like a child made it. The appetizer was also pretty bad and we got it less than a minute before we got our pizza. Terrible service as well. read more

Pizzerias are not created equal and this one is above and beyond most. After a good workout at a nearby gym, my football player, teenage son and my buddy from the Army came to have dinner. The restaurant was quiet and just opened but there were plenty of TVs to watch the game. We had water at the table almost immediately and service soon after. We ordered a salad, meatballs, and the pizza, Joanna (pepperoni and sausage). That was enough food to feed two grown men after a workout and a teenage football player. We were very impressed. We've always loved the pizza at the downtown location, so for my husband's birthday, we were looking for a place to celebrate with family that had indoor seating especially with how hot it's been this summer. I was able to reserve a table at the Scottsdale location, and we were absolutely blown away. The food, as expected, was incredible just as good as we remembered. But what really made the experience stand out was the staff. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure our entire table was well cared for. The rest of the team went above and beyond too. They even cut and served the birthday cake for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. The service was top-notch from start to finish. We LOVE IL Bosco! Have always enjoyed the one in Old Scottsdale and have visited this location twice now as it's closer to our house. One reason we love this location is....KEVIN!!! He is the most outstanding server, bartender, busser....EVERYTHING!! Both times we've been, over the holidays, it was busy and he was the only server, effortlessly taking care of everybody with the best attitude and smile. Hoping the owners of IL Bosco realize what a gem they have in this delightful man. We love all their artisan pizzas...the Mia, our absolute fav. Also, the chopped salad and love how they always ask if we want it split for two! And, the skillet cookie for dessert is always a MUST. The ambience in this location is also so nice. GO!! IL BOSCO makes the best authentic Italian pizza (with 23 creative specialty pizzas). You can always tell a legit pizza by its crust, and theirs is perfectly crispy yet tender and full of flavor. The sauce is delicious and well-balanced, the toppings are so fresh, and there is an awesome amount of melted mozzarella cheese! My friend & I decided to have a girls night out and try this newly opened IL BOSCO location, and we were so impressed by the pizza, wine selection and feel of the place! As you enter, you'll see the large marble bar straight ahead, with a view of the pizza kitchen. To the left, there's a section with candle-lit tables and booths. It was almost full on a Friday night, and there was a steady stream of people picking up pizzas for takeout, yet it was still so relaxing, and the hostess (taking care of the takeout orders, as well) was so sweet. We decided to sit at the bar rather than a table, and the bartender not only had a wonderful personality, but he suggested the perfect wine when I asked for a Pinot suggestion. (I'm telling you, the Laurelwood 2019 Pinot Noir was fantastic, smooth and a perfect pairing with the pizza!) We started with the meatballs for our appetizer. There were three in a generous amount of really delicious sauce, topped with large shavings of Parmesan cheese melting over top, and two flavorful pieces of crostini. Although the meatballs were somewhat dense, they were still enjoyable. We chose the "Carmela" pizza, featuring red sauce, mozzarella, mild sausage, spinach, and caramelized onions. I highly recommend it. The sausage was exceptional, the spinach fresh and flavorful, and the caramelized onions were subtle, sweet, and melted in your mouth. All of their 23 specialty pizzas have a brilliant combination of toppings, and I plan to try the majority. (I also read that you get different toppings on half.) In fact, stay tuned for a lot more photos, because I already have a line-up of things I want next: their Caesar salad, Caprese, Fried Ravioli, Burratta (with roasted veggies), "Salsa Di Parmiginana" (3 cheese, garlic & herb crostini)! ~ Yes, Please! ~ and a very special-looking bruschetta, among others. Oh, I almost forgot to mention their iced tea. I ordered one as I was finishing my wine, and it is a delicious Hibiscus tea that I love mixed with the lemonade as an Arnold Palmer. And for your kids (or the kid in you) along with their desserts of Cannoli & Tiramisu, I saw that they even have Rootbeer Floats, Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillets, and Vanilla Gelato. I'm adding onto the above review, because I went again this week for a late lunch/early dinner, and had the Carmela pizza again. It was perfectly fantastic, and this time my mom and I ordered it with pepperoni instead of sausage. We also had their Caesar salad, which has incredibly fresh, house-made dressing and had a generous amount of wide, fresh Parmesan shavings on top. It was large enough that we shared it before our pizza and had just the right "pre-pizza, side-salad size" amount. During "Happy Hour'" draft beer, cocktails, wine and appetizers are $2.00 off! My mom had a beer, I had Arnold Palmers and the two of us were able to finish the pizza 3 slices each, and felt fantastic. I go to the FLW location. Excellent service, while the beer selection isn't extensive, it's good, and the food is very good. We usually get the Joanna and Adriana with the spinach and artichoke dip, too. We usually go a few times a month. We haven't been disappointed yet. read more

To be honest, I can't tell how good any of the food I ordered was, because they chose a PoS delivery service (grubhub) They left the food in front of the door in a hotel without even letting you know they were there and it's delivered. Meanwhile, the yelp timer was still running like they're still preparing the food. Anyway, the pizza was absolutely ice cold. Food, service and ambiance all 5 stars. We started with the stuffed zucchini flowers...oh my gosh, the combination of zucchini, cheese, rosemary and honey drizzle was incredible. Chop salad was fresh with a great balsamic reduction but what really made it zing was the lemon juice. I had the Valentina pizza, all the flavors mixed together was just perfect. We regularly ate at this location when it was another pizza restaurant and were excited when it re-opened especially after seeing it featured on Check Please Arizona. We started with a Caesar Salad, which was large enough to share. Very tasty with shaved parmesan and good croutons. Next we had a Lucia Pizza, sweet sausage and crimini mushroom, and a Carmela Pizza, spinach, caramelized onions and sweet sausage. I asked if they could substitute artichokes for the sausage; the server said sure. My husband loved the Lucia - plenty of toppings and very flavorful. My carmela was good. Would have liked a bit more sauce, but that's me. Crust on both pizzas had the perfect chew and was perfectly cooked. My reason for the less than perfect rating was the pricing and service. I was charged $2 extra for removing sausage and adding a few artichoke petals...OK I get it, just wished the server would have mentioned the upcharge. We both wanted another drink but waited at least 10 minutes with empty glasses before I could flag the server and ask for another round. Lastly, we arrived at 7:20. The restaurant was half full and closing at 9:00. We were finished by 8:30, thankfully, although still had unboxed pizza and unfinished drinks on the table. Most of the staff was sweeping the floor and rearranging furniture. I get it; they wanted to go home. But cleaning the floor right by my table 30 minutes before closing was not appropriate. The entire staff, although friendly, was young and seemed unsupervised. They spent more time chatting at the food pick up window than checking on their tables. read more
