They advertise a lunch special, but every single time I've visited during lunch hours, they never have any ready-to-go pizza available. When you're on a lunch break, the last thing you want to hear is "it'll be 20-30 minutes" for what's supposed to be a quick lunch option. This has happened consistently for more than a year - it's clearly not just bad timing on my part, but a systematic issue with how they manage their lunch rush preparation. The pizza itself is great when you finally get it, which is why this gets 2 stars instead of 1. But if you're advertising a lunch special, you need to actually be prepared for lunch customers. The staff is generally friendly, but that doesn't make up for the poor planning. I really wanted to support this local business, but I can't keep wasting my lunch breaks hoping today will be different. You have to love Barros pizza as they are always fast and friendly, and the pizza is always tasty and fresh. It's certainly not "gourmet" but it is good. They have one of the best lunch specials in Metro Phoenix. You can get two slices of pizza a drink and salad for approximately $10. I've been to several locations around the Valley, and the pizza is consistent and definitely hits the spot for lunch, and at other times, too. read more

I ran into some old friends that happened to be in town at the same time I was so they invited me to have dinner with them here. It was my first time. I honestly had no idea what to expect. The place was really nice. Very clean very inviting with lots of seating options. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I took my first bit of a the pizza. The crust was just the right amount of crisp and crunch. It was beautiful. Combined with the sauce, the cheese, the toppings. Man it was a party in my mouth. I'm really glad I tried this place. I'll definitely be adding them to the list of must stop places in Phoenix! read more

Gluten free sadness! We are frequent customers of this Barros and in the past, our GF pizzas have been decent, with yummy cheese. Lately, 2nd time now, GF pizza was burned. Frustrating. Please make your employees aware that GF crust cooks super fast. read more

This was my first time having pizza in Arizona. It was a late night at my resort and since I didn't have a car, I had doordash deliver here. I got an XL pepperoni and mushroom and it was perfectly cheese and spread out with all the fixins. If you're in North Scottsdale, I'd recommend this place and their pizza. It's damn good. read more

They have new gluten free crusts! Regualr and thin. Our location wasn't able to provide the ingredients for some reason so I called this location which we also frequent. Larrissa answered and said she had no issues helping us with ingredients. She provided the information right away. She also went out of her way to make sure the ingredient list was referring to both the thin and regular crust and it did. She is so sweet. I appreciate her making it so easy. She is always a joy when visiting this location. We love Barro's! Their gluten free pizza is honestly gluten free and not just gluten friendly. They use a designated area to make, its own are for cooking and tools strictly designated for cutting. Woot woot. read more

I stop in here for an inexpensive lunch once or twice a week. It's faster than any drive-through to go and grab one or two slices and a drink. Today I'm going to see one of my patients who has brain cancer. He just found out he has to have another surgery this week and restarted his chemotherapy. He's tired, sick, nauseous and not really hungry so I thought of the most tasty thing I could get on the way up, and ordered a variety of pizzas. Even if he only wants a bite or two of a couple of slices, it will be a win. read more

I used to love Barros, but the Scottsdale location did not meet my expectations. This is the second time I encountered poor customer service. On my last visit, there was one young lady managing the line while an older lady at the back watched it grow longer. When the older lady finally came to help, she seemed to have an attitude, as if she didn't want to be there. I wish management had just sent her home. It felt as though it was a bother for her to tell me which slices of the lunch special were still available. Rather than respond to her attitude, I politely turned around and left. My advice to anyone is that if you're going to be unhappy at work, perhaps you should consider staying home or finding a different job. read more

Very nice staff and one of my all time fave pizzas spots. Ambiance is pretty chill, I think they cater mostly to pick up orders although they do have a well set up dining room. Clean, large and comfortable but busiest most with people picking up lunch and dinner orders they placed online or called in. As for the food, .I don't eat meat anymore so I get the XL basic pizza with xtra cheese and a salad. I used to love the BBQ pizza when I did eat meat. The white pizza is unique and good too. Their salads are a stellar deal, you get a HUGE amount for less than $10 bucks. Honestly, pizza is pizza so nothing crazy about theirs but it is better quality than most and is one of my top two, right there next to Lou Malnatis, and they are half the price of Lou's so that's nice. Also sign up for their reward club on the web site or app (they have a pretty decent app) for coupons and a free pizza on your birthday! Tip/Reminder: They do not use in house delivery staff, that's a bit old school. Like many restaurants, they use a third party vendor to deliver you that goodness. DoorDash specifically here, so keep this in mind when ordering late. read more

The good is the pizza and wings are good: the bad is that these workers don't fn listen. No mustard on a sub means no mustard. We CALLED to make sure. They slathered mustard in both sides of the bread. Like now we're driving in to get another sub. That's gas $ yk? We've been ordering from Barro's for years w/ no issues and tonight they forgot to include our 2nd order of wings and blamed Door Dash for the error. Told us to kick rocks and call Door Dash. They do too much business to care about their loyal customers. read more

I am a die-hard Barros fan! I grew up with this pizza and I just love everything here so much... Which is why it pains me to give this location only TWO stars. I went here on a Tuesday night after work for a quick dinner with my husband. We got a medium BBQ chicken pizza, amazing! The gal taking our order was pleasant. The two stars is given because of the poor state of the salad bar. I'm not sure if this place just doesn't get a rush hour (it was completely empty the entire time we were there). But the salad bar was so poorly stocked, quite disheveled, the ice berg lettuce looked three days old - was wilted and wasn't chopped to a reasonable size - more like pulled apart carelessly. The tomatoes were old and mushy, some starting to rot, several containers or condiments were basically empty. I know this isn't a salad place, it's a pizza joint. But every other Barros I've been too has always taken care of their salad bars. When this salad bar is right by the registers there really isn't an excuse to not tend to it or keep clean and stocked. Since I am a huge fan, and I work in the area, I will try to come back during lunch to see if there are any improvements to the salad bar. *****Update***** On 7/18 I ordered a small spicy southwestern chicken pizza. When it was delivered all of the toppings were tipped to the side as if someone dropped it or it was tilted. My office is less than 10 mins way from this location, my car was getting repaired so I didn't have a vehicle to grab lunch somewhere and this was pretty much the only place that delivers. Very disappointed. I did call and ask for a refund. The manager, John, was very nice and refunded my order. Just bummed because this is my second not to great experience at just this location. And from the other reviews it seeks to be the only consistent thing at this location. So I probably won't be back. read more

We get Barros all the time, they're so reasonably priced for their pizza and their sizes. Only gave four stars because a few times they have messed up our order or burnt the bottom of the pizza.. but we still keep going back because its so good! The pizza is pretty standard, not New York style and not Chicago, kind of a perfect in between of both. Like a high quality dominos style pizza. We've only ever done takeout, but always see people eating inside and they seem to be having a good time. Most of the employees are younger, but they're all very polite. read more

Not our usual Barro's, but we stopped on the way home knowing we like them. It was our first time actually dining in the restaurant. The food was, as usual, very good & brought to the table pretty quickly. All was as expected except we forgot to order drinks when placing the order, (we also weren't asked if we wanted drinks) & it was frustrating since we completely forgot to order them & even tho there were no customers, we had to wait several minutes for someone to come to the counter to take the forgotten drink order. I couldn't help but notice this is the second Barro's were been in & both have menus in such an awkward spot, away from the registers. They have very oddly designed interiors, but we do enjoy their food. read more

We live right around the corner from Barro's Pizza and we just love their pizza!! We decided to actually eat at the restaurant the other night and their service was really spot on. Team leaders were extremely nice and their pizza was delicious! They have coupons online, so make sure to print one out and save yourself some coin. They also have a loyalty program to earn points so make sure to sign up for that as well. Their boneless chicken wings are super good!!! For sure one our favorite spots to grab some good ol' pizza. read more

I really like eating here, the service is fast, the food is hot, and the lunch special is a good value. They have a strange selection of teas, so if that's something you're in to - great! The thing I don't like about this place is that you can't buss your own table (there is no trashcan in the lobby for the customers) and the employees only pick up the plates and garbage, they don't do a very good job of wiping crumbs and food off of tables or the booths. read more
