    I'm excited about being here!
    Sylvia A.

When I tell you that I enjoyed every single meal here. That's no exaggeration. I enjoyed every thing right down to my selection of adult beverage to the dessert. The service was prompt. I booked prior reservations on their website. The restaurant was clean and I loved that they had a separate bar area. Probably good for Happy hour. We sat at a booth. Our server name was Chanel. She explained the specials for the day. I must add just listening to her about the rockfish Special had me drooling. Of course you know that's what I ordered. It did not disappoint. My husband had the jambalaya and he was happy with his decision as well. We shared the appetizer and the dessert. Which was the bread pudding. Words can't describe how happy I was with all of my selections. I noticed they had street parking available and there's a free open garage about two blocks away. We parked there and walked. Wasn't far at all. This now has become one of my favorite restaurants. We were visiting some family members. Whenever I'm visiting you can best believe this will be our next stop. I'm still thinking about the food and we did have leftovers. Looking forward to finishing it up today. Thanks Coastal Flats. For an amazing meal.

I enjoyed a nice meal starting with a fluffy warm bread and , a perfectly shaken mango martini. For my meal I dined on cod fish fingers with shoestring potatoes and. The meal was light and flavorful. The service was very good as the waitress was attentive and food was served quickly and it was served hot. The atmosphere was busy but well organized. It was my first visit and I will come back without hesitation.

I had a very nice dining experience recently at Coastal Flats. Once in a while you meet a server who is just so good at their job --professional and friendly, with great timing, checking in at all the right times that this transforms a regular meal into a lovely experience. Our server Eric was that person. He exuded positive energy. Eric arrived the moment we sat to get our drink orders. He subsequently made excellent recommendations and was just the right amount of attentive throughout our meal. We started with the little Ozzie breads which are round pieces of fried dough. It's not a donut because it has no sugar coating. Not quite a beignet. You eat it with their honey butter which takes it to a new level of deliciousness. Definitely worth getting! We ordered the blue crab and shrimp fritter appetizer. We took Eric's recommendation to add one more fritter for an additional $4 so we each could have two and that was the right thing to do because these were incredible flavor bombs! The fritters were fantastic especially with the delicious sauce. The low country beef ribs fell off the bone and were amazing. They were slightly sweet but not too much. We substituted sweet potato fries for regular fries just to try something new. The cole slaw on the side was in a creamy, mayonnaise sauce. Unfortunately, this was quite bland and disappointing. We also ordered the lobster club salad at market price which happened to be $41. You got about half a cup of lobster, some bacon pieces, grape tomatoes, half an egg, a bit of avocado and corn on a bed of lettuce with dressing. The lobster was in a creamy sauce that was bland like the cole slaw. When you mixed everything up, the dressing made it better and it was a tasty salad which I enjoyed. However, for the price point, I expected more lobster, more portion, just more. It was tasty but not worth the market price. Overall, what I remember most about the experience is the ozzie breads, blue crab and shrimp fritters and Eric whose personal charm and excellent service made it a great meal. (Honestly, I wanted to give this 4 stars because of the cole slaw and lobster salad, but Eric's service took it back up to a 5.)

Coastal Flats is a solid choice for dinner. Our party of two started with the calamari and babycake sliders, and both appetizers were great. The calamari was perfectly crisp without being greasy. The babycake sliders were full of flavor. For my main course, I had the Tuna Salad, and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh, high-quality, and prepared just right, with a balance of flavors that made the dish feel both light and satisfying. The portion size was generous. Service was friendly and fast. I'd recommend for both a relaxed meal with friends or a dependable dinner out.

I booked a sendoff for one of my employees here my party of 15 was reduced to a party at nine and they were very accommodating. The parking structure for the crown is right behind this establishment so a easy walk.

Had lunch at the bar recently. Always great service and consistent food. Forgot how good the calamari is! Also enjoyed the lobster roll, a burger and a basket of Ozzie rolls.

Listen... sometimes a restaurant just gets it right...Even if you ain't a Chicago Bears fan.  Da Bears. Walked in to Coastal Flats on a Friday night and the whole place already had the right vibe. Warm lighting, people actually enjoying themselves, couples smiling, plates coming out looking like a Patti LaBelle song. You can tell when a spot is being run properly, and Josh, the GM, clearly has that place humming like his name was Ben Johnson. Josh walked over, chopped it up with us for a minute, and recommended the Bourbon Smash (Maker's Mark, balanced, over ice, not sugary, just clean...smooth in the best way). Real easy to order another one. Our server, Melvin, was top-flight. Funny, patient, knew the menu, and had that timing where he shows up exactly when you need something (or your fork barely hit the plate). No rushing, no disappearing act. Just intentional, well-paced service the whole night. Now let's talk eats. First off, the bread basket... maaan listen. That bread was soooo good it made the table hush for a min. You know the moment when everybody takes a bite and just nods? Yeah. That. Just like that. The Low Country Ribs were ridiculous. Tender like they already accepted their fate before they even hit the plate. Them jaunts gave up; falling fresh off the bone and were glazed up just right too. The Brussels sprouts were crazy too! Crispy edges, big beautiful flavor, the type of dish that ends up stealing attention from the main course (normally, but not today). The real sleeper for this delectable Friday meal? The filet tips! Off menu. Off the beaten path, yet the real deal. And honestly...it shouldn't be off the menu. Penne pasta tossed with filet tips cooked perfectly and this bright lime sauce that somehow works way better than you'd expect. Than it has a right to. Light, flavorful, and one of those dishes where you keep taking bites just to figure out how they pulled it off. The kitchen really stuck the landing. Hats off to them. Moving along, you know we had to hit up the bread pudding. It's top-flight fr. It never disappoints. Ever. Big shout out again to Josh for running a tight ship and holding a great conversation, and to Mel for making sure the whole night stayed smooth. Sorry about Mad Maxx, but I'm sure you guys will be fine. Tl,dr: Coastal Flats isn't just serving food. They're taking care of people. Real talk, they even got me set up for my bday. Hands down, CF was far and away the best service I've had yet in 2026. They really doin something special over there. I'll be back soon.

Hickory Grilled Absolutely Fresh Fish - Mahi mahi (fall edition)

I've been to Coastal Flats a few times over the years, but my visit last night prompted me to write a review. I made a reservation online for dinner - it was not crowded at all likely because it was a weeknight and it's a bit cooler out now. On the reservation, I indicated that we were there for a birthday (and in the past, restaurants don't really do anything unless we ask for a bday dessert or something). To my surprise, the hostesses acknowledged it upon arrival and wished my dad a happy birthday which made him feel so happy. They passed it on to our server who also made him feel special. This small but impactful gesture really set the tone for our visit! We came to dinner hungry so we went directly to entrees. Our server reviewed the specials and told us about the fresh fish of the day which was the mahi mahi that was served with bits of bacon and over a puree that included butternut squash. We ordered that and the pecan crusted trout. Both choices were excellent! Both dishes were deliciously put together- the freshness of the fish, mixed savory/sweet flavor profile and tender texture... just WOW! The portions were generous as well, so we had leftovers to take home. Overall, we loved the food and the service was top notch. I am so happy that my dad enjoyed his birthday dinner because of the yummy food, but also for the kindness of each staff member we encountered. A special shoutout to our server Sylvie who was so personable and made our visit so special. Thank you, Coastal Flats staff! We will be back for the next family birthday.

Cute lunchtime spot that we chose based on its looks from the outside. The staff was pleasant as we entered, and we sat right down. We got there soon after opening, so service was a little slower, but the wait staff was pleasant as well! The food took a little longer as well, but not so much to infringe on time, so it was OK too. It was served hot and it was great. Overall, the only reason for the 4 is the slowed service.

Ive been going to Great American restaurants for years. Ive tried just about everything on this menu. My favorites are the calamari and bread pudding. I tried something new to me. The two noodle shrimp salad. It was good. It has wontons, vermicelli noodles tossed in a peanut sauce. It's good but i would omit the sauce next time because they have a sweet chili sauce and a vinaigrette. Both sauces are tasty. The sweet chili has the perfect amount of garlic. It has cabbage and spring mix ad well. The shrimp are good. I tossed those in the sweet chili sauce. It was reminiscent of the calamari. I would order extra protein because I got six shrimp. It was a takeout order and forgot to take a pic. The Ozzie rolls (fried dough) are delish with the honey butter. The bread budding is more of a cake but good nonetheless. It has a deep caramel sauce, rum sauce, raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. Its always busy even for lunch.

I came to Maryland with family and decided I wanted crab before I left. I did some searching online and found this restaurant conveniently located near my hotel. The pictures and reviews were great. We arrived for our reservation and were greeted then seated immediately. The ambiance is nice and the staff was friendly. We were a party of six that turned into a party of 8 and they were so accommodating. Our server was very attentive and kind. Now to the food. The bread was amazing and the fancy butter was also. I ordered jumbo crab cakes with cole slaw and swapped my friends for cucumber tomato salad that had avocado and corn in it as well. I also had lobster bisque soup. It was so so tasty. I am so glad we chose this place. It was such a vibe. My crabcakes were delicious and had just the right crunch. The sauce was a great compliment as well. Really good dining experience overall. My family hugged and laughed and talked and ate. Almost everyone cleared their plates. Fun times.

Took my colleagues to lunch today at coastal Flats and it always stands up as one of the better places to go for lunch when you're in Downtown Crown. I had the corn and crab chowder, which was thick and delicious with plenty of crab and corn and cooked perfectly. For an entrée, I had the lobster club salad. This is a terrific mixture of greens, bacon, deviled eggs, avocado, roasted corn, and a nice portion of lobster meat. It's a great lunch! Service at Coastal Flats is helpful but not intrusive and our server earned a nice gratuity today. Highly recommend

We have been coming here for years, and it is in our rotation of favorite places to eat. The ambience is nice, and in nicer weather, they offer outside seating that wraps around the building. It has a nice "eating in the city" type vibe when we do that. I have tried many things on the menu and love all of them. One of our favorites, and the one we go to when we don't know what we want, is the Short-Smoked Salmon Filet, which is amazing. One irk, and it is not a deal breaker by any means, but in the menu description they mention it comes with broccolini. My wife doesn't like that and when we ask to substitute, they say it will cost as that is considered a garnish so, keep that in mind. I love their Hickory Grilled Chicken Breast and the Jambalaya Pasta as those are my two go to dishes. My wife always gets a dish that she explains to them how to make it and now the staff loves it. I had it last night and it is unbelievable. There is a appetizer that is Blue Crab and Shrimp Fritters with grilled corn and a lobster ginger sauce. She explains that she wants the fritters, put on a bed of pasta (penne or angel hair) and then put the sauce over the top. This time they put the sauce on the bottom, even though the waitress said over the top, but we just mixed it in, and it was just as good. If you like deviled eggs, theirs is a top 3 for us. It comes with spiced pecans and sugar-cured bacon. Also, the Ozzie rolls are amazing. Almost like a donut texture/flavor but on the bread side. We limit ourselves because I could eat a whole basket and be full before dinner. We have been coming to this location since they opened, and we have never had a bad experience with the staff. They are always friendly, attentive and quick to stop by and check on you.

On this visit, we both got selections like what we had around our early times of visiting this spot. I cannot remember what my friend got, but I ordered one of the "Feasty Specials" which had 1/2 Snow Crab Legs and 1/2 Headless Shrimp. It came with sausages (sliced in pieces), 1 Corn (about 1/4 size), 1 Egg, and 2 Potatoes (the skin easily comes off). You get to pick the seasoning and I had Old Bay. What is presented to you is a large clear bag, steamed up and tied, with seasonings and all mixed up. It is served on a metal tray, and they also place an empty bowl on your table for discarding things. Plastic bib was on, bag opened, and I was ready to dig in. The seasoning took me back to my second visit a few years ago. It was when I first tasted their Old Bay mix and became a fan of it. This Feasty Special was just enough and I was glad to switch things up for a change.

Overall, the food is good, and, in our opinion, you do get what you pay for. Keep in mind that they DO charge you if you have leftover food on your table when you are done. Be mindful of that and make sure to let them know as you are finishing up, and want more, to scale down your portion size. There is a 90-minute window to eat. The servers don't really go over the menu much, so if it is your first time for all you can eat, make sure to take notice that the crab legs do come with a few different flavor options. The bad - They started a new policy, which I understand, but do not like. If you want all you can eat, everyone who is at the table must all order it as well, or nobody can. I understand they are protecting their profits, but that has taken us away from this place on more than one occasion to eat elsewhere as some wanted it and another family members wanted to order off the main menu. Also, service can be extremely slow, and I am not sure if it is intentional or not, but we have complained more than once and made them extend our time. Last time we went, they set our first order of food down on the table and as we were eating, the waitress walked by no less then 5 times and didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else. Then, magically, when our food was gone, we could not get anyone to come to the table for 15 minutes. Upon ordering our next round, it took another 20 more minutes for the food to arrive. They are sticklers about the 90-minute time frame, and we explained that twice this has happened and 60 minutes of our 90 minutes was wasted waiting on a server and then the food took forever. They allowed us one more round of food, which we appreciated and thought was fair. We start a stopwatch now and if we feel things are going slow, we address that with the server and sometimes put in a new order when the food is being dropped off. Overall, we are pleased to come here a few times a year. We only get all you can eat and usually are happy when we leave. The food is inconsistent as we do get the lobster tail with all you can eat, and it is usually overcooked and can chew like rubber, but still has good flavor. The crab legs sometimes come out waterlogged with salt, but most times piping hot. This is your typical "average" 3-star restaurant. If you are prepared to spend the money for all you can eat, you will leave satisfied and full, but never will you think "I wish I could come here every week". I have not ordered specific entrees off the regular menu so I cannot speak on portion size or quality of the food by ordering that way. Staff is always pleasant, but you do need to get on them if they are slacking.

Shortly after, our server, Mary, came by to take our food and drink orders. Since it was our first visit, we asked for recommendations, and everything she suggested was excellent. My usual Appletini was good, although it tasted more like vodka than apple. The jumbo lump crab dip, while a bit small in portion, was absolutely delicious and packed with crab and perfectly paired with the sesame baguette. Mary also recommended the shrimp and chicken tenders basket, which was another great choice. My only critique would be to cut the chicken tenders into smaller, bite-sized pieces, as they were quite large and, combined with the crunchy batter, a bit difficult to eat. However, the flavor was spot on. The menu is extensive, including a wide variety of drinks and oysters from different regions. Although I spent more than expected, I would consider visiting again in the future.

It was great! The Bowl Soup was delicious and comforting as soup is desired to be. Note on the soup: it doesn't have any pasta it in (or at least mine didn't), so if you're watching carbs or avoiding wheat, this is an excellent choice! It all came with some bread, too (that I ended up making a sandwich out of with some of the grilled romaine dish later). This was way more than one meal for me! All of it was delicious! ** Today, I fi-na-ly made it to Fontina Grille in person! It was a beautiful day to eat outside as long as there was some shade -- and so, the awning was put out just for us to lunch outdoors. There is a great selection on this menu and at lunch you can order either lunch or dinner portions. The lunch portions were certainly plentiful! The service was great, and everything was absolutely delicious! I especially enjoyed my side of zoodles. I was surprised and amazed at how well they were done -- they were so luxuriously long, it was really fun! They were also a beautiful bright green, cooked perfectly (not too hard, not too soft -- just right!), nice to twirl on a fork, and came with a really great, garlicky sauce. Mmm .... The salad greens were spectacular, the cheeses were mouth-melty, the bread at the beginning was superbly crisp on the outside and sturdy but soft enough, and chewy on the inside, the dipping olive oil with some grated cheese was excellent and helped tide me over 'til the antipasti of Wild Mushrooms came. I heard the Chilean Sea Bass in the Sea Bass Spring Salad was 'like butta,' it was so soft and easy to cut through and apparently very good. It came with salad greens, cutely-cut, skin-removed orange wedges, strawberry slices all neatly arranged around the edges, and a bit of delectably soft cheese. What can I say? Nothing was amiss! Parking was easy and couldn't be closer, with two designated accessible parking spots available right across the small street, and one not far around the corner. The ambiance outside (where we ate) was very nice. Everything was made easy. The (women's) bathroom is capacious, with a big, accessible stall and two others. The indoor dining area is very big with lots of tables. The best part of walking through the indoor area is catching a glimpse of the real fire, ready to bake! Overall, everything was totally enjoyable!

My Cup Runneth Over is one of my new favorites. Also, shoutout to Beth! The doll that took my order. She was kind, friendly, and gave quality suggestions. The ribs are tender and each bite is packed with the flavor. They're slathered with sauce which may be off putting to some. For me, it was that perfectly fine balance between enough and flooded. Oh and the portion size? Amazing! Definitely enough to get full for dinner. Pass out for a minute then finish the rest the next day. The Mac and cheese was great. No, these aren't hand made noodles but the amount of cheese, the seasoning, evening l everything else was done expertly. If you want to save yourself an hour or two of cooking mac and cheese at home, get it here. The atmosphere here is very home cooking. It doesn't feel like it's some massive cookie cutter operation. It's nostalgic. This is what comfort food is supposed to taste like. Eating it made me think about fun times with the family back in Florida. While I made the order online, I was greeted as soon as I walked up to the counter. My order was done exactly when it said it would be done and was made with my additional request. I couldn't it be happier and look forward to many more orders and glad to have this place in the neighborhood.
