Pepperoni pizza

Celebrated Mother's Day 2026 at Matchbox. I made a reservation so we were seated immediately and gifted flowers. We ordered shortly after. We took part in the unlimited brunch. Everything was hot and DELICIOUS! We were surprisingly given full portions. I was stuffed! The service was slow but we gave them grace due to it being a holiday. I can't wait to go back!

Matchbox has a great selection of pizza and other entrees. Each time I've come, I've always been content with the pizza. A friend and I came in for brunch/lunch today and we both ordered the shrimp & grits. While the food came out pretty quickly, I was surprised at how small the portion seemed to be. I would suggest ordering something on the side in addition to the dish if you want to leave full. While the flavor profile of the dish was rich, I needed to add a bit of salt to truly bring out those flavors some more. I also would have liked the shrimp to be a bit blackened. Nonetheless, the dish was still enjoyable. Service was great - quick, attentive and kind. I like the renovations they've done/are working on!

Had lunch here with my family and some friends. The interior was nice with the 2nd floor seating area. The wait staff was very friendly. Matchbox is great for families as they have a nice variety for adults and kids. We ordered: - Shrimp and Roasted Corn salad - Herb crusted salmon salad - Pepperoni Pizza (kids menu) - Mini Cheese burgers (kids menu) The adults' food came quickly but we had to bug the waitress for the kids' food (they were hungry and getting grumpy). Everything was good and I really enjoyed my Shrimp and Roasted Corn salad. Would definitely come back for a meal out with the family.

Cream of Crab Soup

First time at Matchbox, and overall it was a pretty solid experience. The bartender was really nice, and the drinks were on point--I had a mule to start and then a vodka soda, both well made. We tried the appetizer + sandwich pairing, which was a good deal. I was really excited for the Maryland crab soup, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown. I only had one bite--it just wasn't good at all. No one asked how everything was, so I didn't mention it, but if I had been asked, I definitely would've said something. Honestly, for a place serving "Maryland" crab soup in Maryland, it was kind of embarrassing. Thankfully, the crispy cod sandwich made up for it--it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, crispy, and the tartar sauce was fantastic. That's the dish I'll be coming back for. So, mixed bag: I'd happily go again for the drinks and the sandwich, but I'd skip the crab soup every time.

Good customer service and a solid spot for unlimited brunch for $49. Brunch comes with cotton candy, popcorn, waffles and tacos station. Try it out

Appreciate the consistency in quality of foods. Service quality in general has been pretty good. Like the decor and atmosphere. Prices definitely went up since last time we were here. Cannot blame the restaurant, the blame falls on the leaders of the government. Cauliflower flower and tuna tartar appetizers are one of our favorites. Wings were tasty when fresh came out. The double bacon burger patties came out looking funny. They were small and not the same size. Pizza was tasty. Like the thin crust. Creamy pasta was good, so was the chicken avocado sandwich 。 Great portion size. Delicious foods. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend by @WineDinenVacay

Hey friends! I met my godmom and cousin here for girls night. I've always heard good things about Matchbox, I finally got to try it recently. Matchbox serves New American food and is known for their pizzas. I ordered the black bean burger and fries($18). I hated everything about the burger. I specifically asked for it be cooked well done so it wouldn't fall apart. I cut into to and it immediately fell apart. I suggest they use oats to bind the burger together to avoid it falling apart. The burger also had ingredients on it that weren't listed on the menu. That's an allergy hazard and management should fix it immediately. The burger came with Fritos on top and cucumbers... unpleasant. The fries were delicious. I also ordered a Dragonfruit margarita. It was very delicious. A nice balance of sweet and tart from the alcohol. Service was okay. Our server was robotic. The interior is aesthetically pleasing. I definitely wasn't expecting such an impressive interior. Restrooms were clean. Parking is free and ample. I'll be back to try their infamous pizza. I hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Matchbox pizza hits different. I love the crispiness and spiciness of the tomato sauce and pepperonis. The restaurant was nice and quiet for a Monday evening. I was able to get some work done while enjoying some delicious grub. Customer service was superior and I absolutely have no complaints at all. #EatGoodAndBeHappy

Came in for lunch on a random weekend and had a good experience! Our server was great, the food was delicious, and service was quick. I've had matchbox several times and I find it hit or miss, but I wouldn't let that deter me from visiting again!

Hot Honey Pepperoni and Spicy Meatball Pizza
Addy C.

Great food, wide menu selection ("something for everyone"), friendly service, and nice space (lighting is great for photos). We had a party of 6, and everyone loved their food. PEPPERONI & HOT HONEY PIZZA (HALF) and SPICY MEATBALL (HALF) - $18 I couldn't decide between two pizzas and our server offered the option of ordering half & half - yay! Both the host and server raved about the "pepperoni & hot honey" - agree, if you love sweet & salty, you will love it. However looking at other food pics, my pizza didn't have quite the same presentation - taste-wise, it was still good! Description says "vodka sauce, pepperoni, hot honey, mozzarella, basil" ... every ingredient spoke to me but I couldn't taste any vodka sauce on mine ... maybe it was subtle? The "spicy meatball" pizza was good too - spicy but not unbearable. Menu description - "roasted garlic, crushed red pepper, bacon, mozz, halved meatballs." I loved the pepperoni & hot honey pizza more - my nephew loved the spicy meatball more. RIBEYE - $38 14oz grilled steak, asparagus, mashed potatoes, garlic butter. Ribeye is so big that my parents shared the dish. My dad's a picky eater and he loved the steak. I had a bite - very good. I didn't try the other items b/c they're not the sharing type (boo) but everyone enjoyed their food - Black Bean Veggie Burger ($18), Roasted Salmon ($26), Double Bacon Cheeseburger ($19), and Simple Salad ($6 - side salad). Overall great spot esp. for families. FYI they have a great special on gift cards now. Also a loyalty program. Next time I'd like to try the "fire + smoke" pizza - described as having "chipotle puree, basil, Spanish onions, roasted garlic puree, roasted red peppers, smoked gouda" ... sounds intriguing, right? :)

I'm a bit of a sucker for fried seafood but I do think it was overly coated with breading. Service was good, the food came out timely and hot. I ordered a chicken pot pie (looks small but is a huge portion for me). I'll have to say that's my favorite. It's a beautiful restaurant that would be more of a semi-formal appeal. There are also party rooms in the back where my family and I book to have dinner events.

A number of years ago, I had dinner at this restaurant when it was named Stanford Grill. The…read moreexperience was not good so, since then, I have refused to return even after it changed to Glenwood's. My philosophy is that there are simply too many restaurants in the world to return to a bad one. However, I was not aware that Glenwood's has upped its game. A lot! A helluva lot!!! While the ownership is still the same, everything else has changed - for the better! The dining room is neutral and completely understated. Quiet interior. Hushed energy and soft music. Beautiful finishes. Every surface I touched was clean, warm and modern. The service too was excellent. The hostess was friendly. She led us to one of the biggest booths I have ever occupied. Our server, Erika, was friendly too - also fast, good, charming, well-spoken and hard working. She helped us navigate the menu and made our dining experience really really nice. She is a credit to the restaurant! Of course, you go to a restaurant for the food and Glenwood's does NOT disappoint here either. Based on Erika's suggestion, we started with the Ahi Tuna Battera - a kind of sushi "roll" that is shaped/designed more like layered lasagne (Erika's description, not mine). It was great and almost too big for appetizer size. But I'm not complaining! For our main course, we both ordered the Fire Roasted Rotisserie Chicken. OMG! Delicious. Moist moist MOIST!!! I do not know what the chef put in that marinade but it was out of this world fantastic. Big big BIG!!! A half chicken with plenty of succulent meat on it. Neither one of us spoke until our chickens were picked clean. I only wish I could rotisserie a chicken that good! It was one of the best chickens I have ever eaten. For dessert, we gobbled down the cheesecake, making official gluttons out of ourselves! It was creamy, substantial and the perfect finish to our great meal. The negative to Glenwood's is its location. It is in a non-descript Rockville office building that is nothing special; but locked up and dark at nighttime. There is no other retail business within sight of the restaurant. This weird, lonely location gives it an abandoned - almost desolate - ambiance from the exterior. Driving by, I had almost thought it was a dining room for a retirement home. So, I started out this review by explaining that my bad experience at Stanford Grill kept me from enjoying a good dining experience at Glenwood's. I could not ignore the taint Stanford had given that place. But Glenwood's is a completely different place. The menu had so many great dishes that I want to return and try. I will definitely be back and I can see it becoming "my place." I highly recommend Glenwood's for a great meal in a great restaurant!

Tatte has a lot of seating, however, they are so popular it often feels small when waiting in line to order. A few times I have visited I could not find a table and had to take my latte to go. If I visit outside their busier hours or I get lucky I have snagged a table and had the luxury of drinking my latte at a table inside. Despite how crowded it is inside I can always hear my friends and carry on conversation indoors easily. Occasionally it has been hard to hear when your order is ready so I definitely recommend checking in at the pickup area to make sure you get your latte while it is hot. So far my favorite latte is the Black Sesame Latte with nondairy milk. It is not too sweet, a little nutty, and so smooth. I especially love visiting Tatte in the fall for their version of a pumpkin spice latte. The syrup they use is dairy free which is challenging to find. I do wish Tatte had more vegan options, and more clearly labeled on the menu what can be modified to be vegan. Part of the reason I have not tried any of the food is because navigating the menu as a vegan is challenging. I hope they can make some changes so I can have breakfast or lunch with my latte in the future. For now I love visiting Tatte for a treat yo self moment. I love the high ceilings, layout, seating; it's giving French café with a twist. The desserts look phenomenal and their coffee/tea selection covers all the basics with a few extras (like pistachio, black sesame, and halva syrup), MEM tea blends, matcha, as well as a selection of coolers that sound absolutely divine using white peach/mint, strawberry/cardamom, and mango/ginger syrups. Who doesn't love a housemade syrup? I ordered the honey halva latte, raspberry meringue, pistachio cherry tart, and a plain butter tube (comes with 17 butter cookies). The butter cookies were perfect dipped in coffee, but almost everything else fell short. Looked divine, tasted so-so. The raspberry meringue might be one of the prettiest desserts I've seen but the filling left something to be desired. It had an odd aftertaste, while the pistachio tart barely had any kind of flavor. The coffee was, in a word, disappointing. The crumb cheesecake cup was tasty, but it felt like it was missing something. The woman who rang me up also wasn't friendly, which seemed a little odd considering that I'm a paying customer. Like she had an attitude for no reason. A simple "pick your coffee up over there" would suffice, considering that it was my first time and the barista was located on the other side of the establishment. Would I come back? If a friend wanted to go. Would I make it a point to? Probably not. My visit had good points but overall it just felt like something was missing.

At least once, our meals took longer than expected to arrive, and I believe the restaurant was not adequately staffed for a busier than expected morning. The most "interesting" inconsistency was with hot tea, which we ordered every morning. Some servers brought us a plate with a large selection of teas, some servers asked us our preference and brought us just those. One server actually poured the hot water for us (which I was advised is actually a no-no when it comes to serving tea). None of these inconsistencies bothered me too much.
