Fish tacos on top, shrimp tacos on the bottom.

Ordered on doordash and the delivery was quick. Our family ordered the street corn, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, brisket tacos, a pork taco and a veggie taco with some rice and beans. I loved the corn and the fish tacos. The rice and beans were okay. I thought my pork and brisket tacos could have more flavor. If I was blindfolded, I wouldn't have been able to tells them apart on taste alone, which is a tad disappointing. The fish taco on the other hand amazing. I'd highly recommend. One note about ordering on doordash was that the salads weren't available on that platform, so if your looking for a salad, you may have to go in person!

Shrimp, fish, and pulled pork taco and the red beans and rice. Delicious!

Grilled shrimp tacos are legit. Nice outdoor seating with music playing. Try the pineapple salsa.

I would not recommend this place to ANYBODY. The food was flavorless, very expensive and service was not great. Not coming back.

Started with chips and salsa - made on-site and they also brought us three sauces, also made on-site - a jalapeño sauce, a red sauce and a tomatillo sauce. 100% recommend-all were delicious. We decided to split our meals and ordered a chicken burrito and the shrimp quesadillas. The burrito was very tasty, with what seemed like freshly made refried beans and delicious chicken. A little too much rice for me, I would have preferred less rice and maybe some grilled onions and peppers. The shrimp quesadillas were NOT what we expected. The shell seemed almost flash fried and in addition to the shrimp it had lettuce and melted manchego cheese. It was really, REALLY good. Service was great and we weren't rushed. There were four other tables filled while we were there and three of them were speaking Spanish which made me feel like we chose the right place. Seriously, I felt like the food here was made someone who'd been cooking like this for decades. A very cool little restaurant that I cannot recommend enough! Great food, great service, and a great location. (Sorry, forgot to take pics here)

Montes cafe is easily the best Mexican restaurant in the area for my liking…read more The service is always good. Whether we dine-in or take-out we never have any issues. The restaurant itself is a good size with roughly 12 tables. It always appears to be clean and well kept. Their birria is my favorite. I've had the pizza (for 2), the tacos and the quesadilla, all always delish. My wife typically orders the mushroom quesadilla which are really nice and fresh. We enjoy Monte's and you would too.

We were seated almost immediately. The restaurant had just a few tables occupied. The restaurant was clean, quiet and our seating was spacious. We were promptly attended to. Second, we were given a Father's Day menu which was a very abbreviated version of their usual menu. Our server was quick to point out that if there was anything we wanted that was on the normal menu that we remembered, all we had to do was ask. We were delighted. We placed our drink orders. We were given plenty of time to review the menu and discuss what else we might want from the regular menu. We placed our orders. The wait for our meals was commensurate with the number of people. The food arrived piping hot. Everyone was served within minutes. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions enormous. I ordered 2 appetizers thinking they were going to be reasonable. I fed most of the table while still having enough for myself. Needless to say, to-go containers were necessary. Last, I want to say again that this was my and my wife's third visit. Each time we were served and attended to by Danna (?). I can't say enough positive things about her. She was attentive, friendly, warm, patient and very happy and helpful. She was very accepting even though I was doing my best with my high school Spanish. For my wife and me, I will ask for Danna to be our server and will be as much of a regular patron as possible. I would highly recommend El Familiar. You can't beat the ambiance, food quality and service.

Sure, I'm not a "local" anymore, but when the menu stays generally the same, but the amount/quality/taste goes down, the spot loses its splendor. Unfortunately, this is what happened here. I've been back a good amount this summer, and after 3 times, you can't call it a fluke. Everything about the food has just gone downhill. $6 for a fish stick smaller than what you get in a frozen Gorton's box (which is so fried you can't even taste the fish), and then a sprinkle of shredded cabbage...it's not worth it. The chips are stale, not even their "almost famous" salsa bar can help. The rice and beans are not seasoned - at all - so be prepared to grab the salt and pepper. I was thoroughly disappointed by the guac as well. It tasted overly like lime and that weird powder season you can buy to make guac dip. My kid wasn't a fan of her quesadilla until I patted off the grease, and even then she said "I won't get this again". I don't think their soda machine has worked any time I've been there this year, so then you have to pay for a bottled beverage. Its just all more a hassle than it's worth. It's a great vibe and a great spot, but their food has just gone downhill, which makes me so disappointed.
