    Chicken plater
    Jack W.

I've said it before and I'll say again, I wish Yelp would allow you to give half stars...anyways, I decided to give this place a try. The food was very good, but for the price and value, simply not enough! I got their chicken plater. It came with what seemed to be barely 2 ounces of chicken and then a bunch of salad. The hummus was delicious but didn't get enjoy pitta bread to enjoy it. The stuffed grape leaves were also very tasty but, again small and could've used a few more. I also had to wait forever for my food. It was me and one other customer, the guy behind the counter was the only one there! He could've used some help for sure, especially if it took him that long to get my food out. The place was clean so far as I could see. Might be back, might not..

Ordered on DoorDash and order was ready for pickup in like 10 minutes. I got the two kebab rice platter (one chicken, one beef), a side of fries and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is definitely worth the extra $2! Chicken was most flavorful, and the beef was perfect kebab texture - chewy but still tender. They didn't have tabouli, which was supposed to come in the platter, but it was replaced with a Greek salad instead. Dressing is definitely homemade, and yummy.

This place is open 24/7!!! Went in for a late lunch today. Food was great! Came out pretty quickly. Definitely want to come back next time we are in the area!

The beef and lamb gyro was amazing! I ordered the small gyro and I thought it was the perfect size. I also paired it with a yummy Greek salad. It had a good amount of veggies, it didn't have an overload of sauce which I appreciate, and the pita bread was nice and fluffy. Not to mention, the meat was great as well. I will definitely come back here, no doubt!

Good but not great, although the food is fresh and well prepared, it seems to be quite overpriced. They do make a very good falafel! It was cooked and flavored very well, the added side salad and pita bread made this a great entree for lunch. Unfortunately, the limited amount of falafel they serve was not worth the price. Cheers!

While is Chapel Hill today I decided to check out Grk Yeero. Went with a couple of my favorites and enjoyed the lunch. Yeero was very tasty with the right amount of toppings. Salad was fresh with a yummy vinaigrette. Stuffed grape leaves come 5 to a side serving and they were the first to be eaten. Well made. I'll be back!

Small beef & lamb gyro. Was plenty for me for a snack.

Good, made to order food at affordable prices. It's a one man shop and he's nailing it. Very nice, hard working, and he cares. He noticed that he gave me onions and pickles after he served me and came right back, apologized, and remade my order. I got a small beef & lamb gyro and it was delicious. A bit too much tzatziki sauce for me but I know my friends can't ever get enough of it. The place is super clean and keeps a steady flow of traffic.

This is the third time my food came and it's basically all pita. When I first starting coming here the owner was making them(like home jersey) but now there's another man in there speak little English and always does this to my gyros.. even when I specify exactly how I want it .. waste of money.. guess I have to find another place..

Delicious food. Lots of delicious options. Very quick service. There are tables there, but it seems like mostly a takeout place.

Incredibly overpriced for the amount of food. Kebabs are half the size found at a regular Greek restaurant. Will not order from here again.

Staff came to us immediately for our drink and appetizer order then allowed us the requested time to view the menu. The ambiance and feel of the place is incredible! We ordered the Greek mimosa and the spartan Bloody Mary along with the avgolemeno soup to start. Then the Pasticho and mousaka .Being Greek we are very particular about our Greek food. The Greek mimosa was excellent, the flavors aren't anything like a regular mimosa it is a whole new experience, if you like a red or rose wine try it! The bloody mark has a bit of a bite but it too has a great flavor I would not order if you don't like spicy or can't have salt. The avgolemano was delicious just the right amount of lemon too simple and elegant just lemon egg chicken rice and broth with light seasoning. The Pasticho was excellent! They even bought the right noodles ! About as close to my yaiyas as a restaurant can get! The mousaka was also delicious. Many times you get it the eggplant is either greasy or hard. This was perfect and not highly seasoned. I recommend giving this restaurant try parking is definitely a lot easier than Tara and the food is excellent and the ambience is fabulous!

The…read moreatmosphere tends to be the draw-- it's decorated well, there are some fun foods (flaming cheese?!), and there tends to be a Greek dance train on weekend evenings. I went with a group of 6 adults this past week and realized that the atmosphere no longer outweighs the other nits for us. The restaurant was maybe 80% full, but our servers couldn't find the time to check on us. We had a bottle of wine served, and maybe 15 minutes later needed more wine. We finally got our server's attention and we got more wine. Once our entrees came out, our server and wine guy never came back to our table. We even told them we would like more wine but they never came back with it. We would've bought 4-5 bottles of wine that evening had someone come back to check on us. Instead, we just sipped our waters until we were ready to leave. The food was honestly mediocre all around. The lamb was overcooked and inedible, the eggplant dish was over salted, etc. We liked our dips platter, but it came with a tiny bowl of pita and like three pieces of celery for $24, so most of the dips went uneaten. If someone had asked if we needed more pita or vegetables we would have said yes, even if we had to pay for it. But nobody did. I could go into more details (mansplaining and some belittling all around), but it's not really important. We realized there are restaurants in Chapel Hill that we'd rather visit in the future. I hope Kipo's is able to make some changes because we really love it. But in the meantime we're going to give it a break.

Service is very friendly, and as quick as possible, considering that stuff seems to be made to order. I ordered a chicken kebab platter which comes over a bed of basmati rice, possibly with saffron. Whatever the rice tasted great and it wasn't dry like at a lot of places. The chicken was marinated in a tangy yogurt-spice mix, grilled and topped with a tahini sauce. Delicious! As sides I got mujadara and roasted vegetables which were also tasty. I'll be back for takeout for sure in the future.

"Bodega-like Mediterranean Grill & Grocery in Parkwood area of Durham"…read more This place is WAY off the beaten path for most, but I'm so happy to have gotten to try it out. Nestled in a little strip between a Muslim school and a mosque is this grill and grocery. We came on a Wednesday evening, and almost every table was already taken by diners. You order your food at a counter, and it has the Middle Eastern foods you'd expect-- kofta, shawarma, gyros, falafel, baba ghanouj, hummus, baklava, etc. I opted for the lamb gyro sandwich with a side of baba ghanouj, and my dining partner had the falafel sandwich. They call your number when it's ready. Food took maybe 10 minutes to receive, so we browsed the market area. It's not a huge selection, but very traditional-- nice seeing so many labels in Arabic, and along with standards (e.g., canned fava beans for Ful Medames), they also had things like frozen chopped mulukhiyah leaves-- that's definitely a rarer sight. Lots of good spices too. The food was EXCELLENT. The lamb was juicy and perfect (unlike what another Yelp review said), the tzatziki sauce was delicious, and the baba ghanouj was perfectly cooked and textured. I had a small bite of the falafel, and it was indeed one of the best I've had in the US. Price was fair, too-- the sandwiches are all under $10 before tax and tip, and making it a combo with side and drink cost just something like $2.50. And service was friendly-- although they called out numbers, they did walk out with the food to try to find and bring you your dishes. And while it was an older space, it was overall still generally clean. Overall, I'd VERY happily come back.

It is a family owned restaurant, which I love. She politely said we could still order and eat inside. It was 2:00pm. We were the only ones inside the restaurant. It is decorated with items from Egypt. Paintings of pharaohs and pyramids. A few people came in to grab their to go orders. She explained that since the pandemic, they do more take out than dine in. We tried the hummus and pita, which was delicious. She mentioned their falafel was one of their best items, so I had to try it. It came with four pieces. They were piping hot and so good. I dipped them in the hummus. I also ordered the chicken kabab (marinated chicken with peppers, onions, and tomatoes over their homemade rice. I asked for no tomatoes and the beef shawarma plate with a Greek salad and tahini sauce. The food was good. I loved the Greek salad with big chunks of tomatoes. The chicken kabab (which she did explain did not come in a skewer) was a bit dry. I dipped it in the hummus. It lacked a bit of presentation. Something that took me by surprise was that we were given our food on paper plates, with paper cups and plastic forks, even though we were eating inside the restaurant. Not sure if it's the same for all lunch and/or dinner. The owner is very nice and I truly appreciated her letting us eat there even though it was close to closing hour. I took the rest of the hummus and pita to go so they could close at 2:30pm. Overall, great experience and good food.
