Prices have exploded recently at GO! Produce is especially high priced. This is more than just regular inflation, since almost every other grocery store charges less for produce. Examples: a 2 pound head of cabbage is priced at $2.99/lb at GO (4-26) = $6 for a head of cabbage!? Same size head of cabbage at Trader Joe's is $2 total. A plastic box of grapes was over $10 at GO, while it was about $6 at Freddies. A little bag of 4 Roma tomatoes was $4 at GO, but just $.29 apiece at Trader Joe's. Protein powder that I used to get regularly at GO, went up 20% in one week. Almost everything at grocery outlet has gone up far more than inflation. Still a good place to buy bread, ice, cream, tortillas, and other items, but I seldom go anymore because of their outrageous prices. So disappointing - Grocery Outlet used to be such a great place to find bargains, now it's just Grocery Overpriced. read more

It had been a bit since I went to any Grocery Outlet, let alone this one. I will stick with Winco for most of my shopping because for food all of the prices are way lower at Winco. Where you can save a lot is items like cleaning supplies, bath supplies - seriously, great prices for deodorant, shampoos and face products. They also have random bath bombs and blankets, gardening supplies for pretty great prices. And plants... healthy plants for pretty cheap for indoor and outdoor things. I did find a few items that were pretty whoa priced like this insanely large round of Brie for $8.99. They also do have a few things I have never seen other places. But then the had one tiny packet of basil for twice the amount I have seen it anywhere else and when I turned it over it was spoiled. Don't expect customer service and you might want to skip this location if you are ADA since I did not seen a motorized cart. The cashier was just downright bitchy. Most of the time cashiers see my cane in the cart and just go out of their way to, at the very least, bag my groceries kindly and put the bags in the cart. When she asked if I wanted bags I said yes, that I had forgot mine in the car and would be so grateful if she could load level them...which she completely ignored and piled it all into two bags - leaving things out and also putting the bags out of reach so I needed to very awkwardly load this up to the point of it being embarrassing. Thanks for making it weird. I get that people are probably not great to the cashiers but being downright nasty to me when I am doing everything I can to be kind while being genuinely abused by a cashier is a bit freaking much. I will say that the other customers were much nicer that the staff that works there. read more

When I go shopping at grocery outlet, it feels like a treasure hunt. I found my favorite Johnny Pop popsicles in the freezer section at deeply discounted price compared to other grocery stores. I like how I can get all my staples for my grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. Like how the food has expanded to many Asian, Hispanic, Indian foods. Super nice service. I usually shop here, but I might need to start going elsewhere. I came in today to pick up my usual dog food, only to find it was out of stock. I asked an employee if they had any in the back, and the response I got was, "It's probably on the pallets in the back if we have it." I waited, expecting them to at least offer to check, but instead, they just said, "You'll probably have to come back tomorrow when it's stocked." Having worked in a grocery store for a few years myself, I always made an effort to check the back for customers when they asked. It seemed like these employees, who were just standing around chatting, simply didn't want to be bothered. I get that going to the back can be a hassle, but it's part of the job or at the very least, they could have asked someone else to check. Because of this, I had to switch my dog's food, which any pet owner knows can seriously mess with their stomach and cause digestive issues. It's frustrating that basic customer service is being overlooked like this. read more

I love the gourmet and organic speciality and snack section as much as I do the wine section! And when they get the blue/brown heritage eggs in for under $4!!! ...it feels like Christmas! As their catchy jingle states, there are bargains here! Yes, some of the items are close to expiration dates which is why they are greatly reduced (cheese, dairy, bread) so if you are buying them you don't want to wait to eat them. But that totally works if you want some fresh mozzarella to make a Caprese salad for dinner that night, for example. What I particularly love are the packages of marinated chicken breast. The Hall Street location often has chicken breasts where other stores sometimes only have the thighs. The teriyaki chicken is my favorite! Throw it on the grill and serve with a salad and rice and you have a quick, healthy and delicious meal. Had it for the first time at a friend's house and ran to Bargain Market the next day to buy it! Sometimes I pick up a few packages to keep in my freezer so I can whip this up whenever a craving hits. Love perusing the pantry items just to see what I can find. Jalapeño advacodo cream sauce? Absolutely, going in the cart. Great on southwestern bowls, enchiladas, in scrambled eggs, on tacos. They have small bottles for 99 cents and the larger bottles. The small are great if you don't think you can finish the large bottle before it goes bad. Since I love to make charcuterie boards, I often pick up dried fruits and nuts here. They have a huge bag of dried mango with chile powder for under $8 and it lasts forever. Products rotate so I always walk all the aisles just to see what's there. amake sure to check out the wine. Seriously, they often have wines I buy elsewhere so I know the cost and taste, and here they are several dollars, sometimes even $7 less per bottle! read more

Only issue I have (which is a pretty big one in my opinion) is they are selling expired products. 3 pack of large Herdez guacamole salsa I bought came with 3 expired salsas. :/ Looking back at the pictures of the signs I took, I'm assuming that the yellow sign means they're discounted? But they're still expired, I'd understand if they had them out until the end of March but can they even sell that anymore? read more

Love going to this store. Just had a really bad interaction that left such a sour taste in my mouth so here I am. Yes we know the real id is coming, but are we also aware of the fact that people can have multiple IDs, like a passport card. Bought alcohol, used the old (NOT EXPIRED) ID to show my age. Cashier took it upon herself to then lecture me about how I need a new ID, the DMV takes so long, go to this one, save money for it. Ok cool whatever I get it, little does she know I have my passport card, so respectfully shut it. Then proceeds to yell at us "get that ID taken care of i wont accept it" as we are leaving. GIRL I GET IT!!!!! I come here at least once a week, now I wanna go all the way across town to any other store because of you. With Groceries currently at an all time high, I am not sure why any one would not consider coming to Grocery Outlet. Their prices are amazing and typically have a great selection. Not to mention they are ever expanding their vegan/veg options. Today, I was able to stock up on my Gardein Alternative Meats, along with Myko's Butter. The number find today happend to be Talenti. I have seen it over $7 at other gorcery stores, and today I found it for $2.49. I usually get exicted when I see it under $4. Go to the King City store instead. At least they honor their posted prices. My wife and I have been regularly shopping here for a few years; their selection is always lacking in comparison to the King City store, but this store is closer to home so we usually end up here. Not anymore. Last week we bought a whole jicama at this store. We noted the posted price as $1.79 *each*. The jicama was large, so when the cashier informed us the price was per pound and said, "Sometimes it's by the pound, sometimes by the each," we let it go. Today my wife picked out a fist-sized jicama, noted the posted price as $1.79 *each* and even brought the sign up to the cashier. She explained what happened last time. The cashier refused the to honor their own sign, and notified the manager, who flatly said the posted price was wrong. "Well at least you could honor this price and fix your sign," my wife said. Supper nice place with Japanese stationary :) they have a whole isle dedicated to Japanese snacks and boba! Love their sushi!! Although I wish they had more to offer when it came to skin, body and hair care. I have been going here for years and it has been wonderful. The staff has always been respectful, considerate and pleasant to interact with. While it is a grocery outlet so certain items will always rotate, the prices are very,very reasonable. Plus you get a chance to try products that you other wise wouldn't see, for example I got some cheese spread from newfoundland and it was really good. If you are vegetarian or vegan they are well stocked and the prices for vegetarian/vegan are way better compared to other stores. read more

Been here a lot. it used to be good, but customer service has left the building. Sometimes the cashiers are so busy talking to each other, or and off shift that is standing at the end of the counter that they leave you standing for a long time. Today as I approached the check out only 2 were running and both had long lines, as I finally approached the front (I was next to set my stuff on the belt) two people came up to open, the guy on my side pulled everyone behind me and left me standing there. Basic rule when you pull people in retail is pull the person in front. Only thing I could see is that the person behind me was a young women. This has happened to be here before though. I guess they don't want my money so I set my stuff on the checkout belt and left. I doubt I'll be back any time soon. read more

This location is my favorite of all of the grocery outlets that I've been to and I've been to most of them in the Portland area. There is one cashier here who is my favorite :-) she is loud and almost a little offputting at first but immediately she becomes something of a friend. Even my two and three-year-old like her. I've only seen her a handful of times but every time I go there I look for her. That said, this store has absolutely amazing deals. You can get the same prices that you would if you used coupons without having to clip a thing. I don't go here to buy my normal groceries because somethings are a little more expensive than Winco or Walmart. But I find that if I walk around and look for bargains I can find things for a fraction of the normal cost. I walk in and usually find four or five really really good deals. I buy six months worth of that item. Sometimes I freeze things like yogurt for my kids and cookie dough. I have found amazing deals on everything here from organic food to juice to coffee. This is a great place to shop, great people, great prices, great experience. read more

The Canned-Food Crack-House is goin' strong. Pick up your gift wrap, greeting cards, T.P. , shampoo, hair-styling products and paper towels at insanely cheap prices. Perhaps the package is slightly ripped or the item has older, outdated packaging. In any case the non-food items are a steal. I have found BedHead and Redken hair products, and my favorite 100% cotton Tampax tampons (which they don't manufacture anymore). Those were 50 cents per box...I couldn't eff-ing believe it! Do NOT buy the frozen food. Most of it is expired, and sometimes it's been thawed in transit and then re-frozen at the store. Gross. I would also stay away from the cheese, milk and other perishable items unless you carefully check the expiration dates. Baking supplies: yes. go for it. Real vanilla extract and other expensive flavorings/spices for cheap cheap cheap. They even have wine tastings! read more

Gone way downhill w Covid and new owners. No shields between register and customer. I get bagging your own groceries when you bring your own bags but when I don't bring a bag, they don't even ask if I need a bag and my groceries just sit there ... then I have to ask for a bag after she's already totaled me up. 5 cents cash. No biggie. Then she hands me the bag. My groceries are well over a foot away. Had to reach over a foot and self-bag. When asked if they bag groceries anymore, she said, "Well, not really." Recently, we had our first trip to Grocery Outlet. I heard so many good things about this store, but I didn't know what to expect. We walked in and we saw cheap prices everywhere. I love to shop with coupons so I asked one of the stock person if they accepted coupons, he said they only accept their coupons but not manufacture coupons. If you are couponers like me and expect to use manufacture coupons here, you should just leave your coupon binders in the car. Like other reviewers said in their reviews, some of food items here are near expiration dates or they expired that day. By expired meaning, the date on the packaging will say "freeze by such and such date" or "use by such and such date". If it's freeze by date, I don't mind that since I can freeze those items. We got Jimmy Dean sausage for 99 cents each and some bacon strips for $1.29 per package. Good deal and I know we will consume them soon. We got some chicken, fruits, and vegetables with really good price. I wish there's one closer to our home, but the drive to King City on the weekend is not that bad. I'm now a fan of Grocery Outlet. I LOVE this store. You have to know your prices and watch out for expiration dates, but if you don't like something, you can return it for your money back. I'm willing to try a lot of things, knowing I can return them if needed. They've really expanded their organics in both food and non-foods. They frequently have Annie's, Back to Nature, Amy's, Pacific Foods, Horizon, Barbara's, Cascadian Farms, Avalon, Jason, Alba, and Tom's just to name a few. They have an interesting selection of cheeses, and sometimes they have very good wines (again, you need to know what you're looking at, and if it's bad, you can return it). Word to the wise: If you find something you love, buy a LOT of it because it may never be there again. read more

Glad to have a decent Grocery Outlet on my side of the river; pity it's quite a bus ride. However, I think it's worth the hassle to get such low prices on things. They don't have the same things all the time, being an outlet and all, but I can manage to get much of my shopping done here. The big bag of Foster Farms chicken I got was worth the trip. I'm wary of their fresh meats, but other things are good and cheap if you plan on using them soon or freezing them. I needed to go to a "regular" store to get some things, but the Outlet is a good place to start your shopping. You never know what savings they'll have. read more

The best thing about Grocery Outlet is the price. The worst thing about Grocery Outlet is that if you see something you want and use, you have to buy it now because it maybe gone in a week. We have been using it as our first stop on our grocery shopping trips for about a decade now. We get staples and whatever special items they might have currently before heading over to another store to pick up our favorite brands. The fact that they have an organic section now (which is admittedly hit or miss,) is a huge plus. The differences in food selection is such that when we travel, we'll actually stop by other Grocery Outlet branches to pickup items that we don't have at our regular store. Nothing says obsessed like driving from Northern California with $200 of bulk goods from three different Grocery Outlets in the trunk of the car. read more

I'm a fan of Grocery Outlet and why -- -- Inexpensive boxed, canned groceries -- example, i bought Oreos there for $1.99 that normally sells for $3.99 at a regular grocery store. I can go on and on about the examples of items i've found there that is significantly cheaper. -- Variety of products -- anything from soap, kitchenware, wine, to other groceries. -- Accept credit cards. Most inexpensive grocery stores dont' accept credit - only debit. Ok, so i frown on using credit cards too often, but there have been times where i needed to use it, and it's nice they are willing to give this option considering it's a low cost store. The secret to shopping here -- go here first before you do your regular grocery shopping. The products change depending on inventory -- so you can find kettle chips one time, but then not see them again when you go back. Also, look at labels carefully -- there were some frozen foods that was a few days expired, so you can choose to stay away from those if you'd like, but most products i saw were not expired. Not the best produce selection, or the best quality, so you might want to avoid those. If you're on a tight budget and have time, drop by to grocery outlet. It's a great way to save money! This store is amazing. A lot of people think that this place is low class, but if you don't go there you can't know what amazing kinds of stuff they have. I'm talking about cheeses you won't find in many high class grocery stores and a half galleon of organic milk for 1 dollar. Also there are the things you should be scared of, very very scared, like the Wonder Drink (2 for a dollar) it literally tastes like cherry flavored vinegar. This place is close to my work site, so I come here on weekly basis. It helps keep my spending on food budget low, and I love the diverse selections here. I already have everything memorized in Fred Myer, Winco, New Season's, etc but this place always have something new, as inventory changes depending on what excess products are available. I always save at least 50% to even 80% here, so I don't need to feel guilty... except when I buy stuff that was not really necessary (like that night cream that was $60 for $10 (lol) Cashier's are nice, store is clean, and my weekly stop is always enjoyable. I have been going to this store for years and today I was refused service. I have been shopping for the last 8 months with out a mask. I have a Health exemption card I wear around my neck and have had no issues. Today I was refused service by all the staff and the daytime manager. They confronted me and asked me to leave refused to ring my groceries, this violates the NUREMBERG CODE which states no person can be force or coerced to don a medical device to enter a business or be denied services, I have filed a claim. read more

Stuff sold here is cheaper because it is excess from different stores, the manufacturer's shipping problems or near expiration date (which you may want to check carefully on refrigerated items). They sell all kinds of non food as well, shampoo, beer, toys... all for low prices that usually beat other grocery stores. Compared to other "Canned Food Grocery Outlet" stores: This location is better than small town locations. Better than Chehalis, WA, or Bellingham, WA. Hillsboro is somewhat better, but not vastly so. Tacoma (Lakewood) is tops. The whole chain has been getting fewer odd ball gourmet finds and more plain store brands. Nothing wrong with soup from Stop-n-Shop (east coast) but it is not that different from Safeway (west coast). Used to be one could find caviar and such on occasion. Lots of good deals. I've found a lot of great quality wines here for not very much $$. plus, you can't beat a policy where you can return ANYTHING (wine, produce, etc.) if you don't like it. yes, it's important to check the expiration dates but really you can run into that issue anywhere (don't get me started on the year expired Parmesan I found at a Safeway in town). I think part of why I love coming in here is that you never know what you may find and there can be some fantastic finds (thomas kemper sodas, kettle chips, habanero chicken sausage, herbal teas, chewy nerds, etc, etc). plus the staff here is super friendly and helpful. it's definitely worth popping in, if only for the wine, if you're in the area. read more

My daughter keep telling me I should shop at Grocery Outlet-after all it's about walking distance from the homestead. Today I did, as I was shopping with her. It's right next to K-Mart at Murray and TV Hwy in Beaverton, and I had kind of considered it a K-Mart version of a grocery store-and in some ways it it...the prices are very low (example..Benniful Dog Meals-usually 3 for $5 on sale @ Wince are 99 cents each at G.O.). However it's sort of like Costco in that they might not always have that dog food. Or that shampoo or any specific thing that you crave. When you find something you like, you have to buy it then! If you aren't stuck on specific brands for things that are pretty much similar, you can score good deals here. Shower wash for $1.50 instead of $4, slightly off colors of hair dye, basics like hair brushes and hand lotion and a nice brand of T.P. all at deep discount. OK I'm now a fan and will have to do what my daughter does-shop here first with the list then go to the other grocery stores. For many things, they even beat Winco, which in my book is the least expensive store around. read more
