I recently realized that we've been here now over 50 times! It's only just hit me that this store is locally owned and operated. We split our grocery shopping between Roussos Wholesale, Trader Joe's, and Grocery Outlet. Their packaged greens last incredibly well, and their dips are fantastic choices. I also love the oat milk and can't resist wandering the potato chip and chocolate aisle. :-) From one local to another, I want to express my gratitude for everything you do. I WAS WRONGLY ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTING ! I'm and old guy that lives nearby this store and shop there frequently. I usually have a little black cloth bag I use to carry things in. So, I'm in the store one day recently probably 15 minutes, pushing a cart around with my little black bag, which was empty except for a cardboard tube I keep my daily planner calendar in, in the top part of the cart. After a few minutes I had like four items in my cart; mostly some vegetables. I'm in line now and when it's my turn I put my few items on the conveyor and push my cart through the check-out to the credit card station there at the register. I'm holding my little black bag there in plain sight and waiting for my items so I can put them in my carry bag when suddenly a store employee I'm going to assume was the manager steps up and reaches for my cloth bag. I decline his "help" and he says he saw me stealing and needs to look in the bag. I denied that he saw me stealing anything and he said " Yes you did, I saw you!". So, I opened my bag so he could see into it, he put his hands into it looking and searching for the "stolen" items and having found nothing ... just walked off. Not a word said. No apology, no nothing. I complained to the cashier checker and all he said was "We have a lot of problems here". I laughed at him and said I bet they do with the way they treat people there, wrongly accusing people of stealing. The next day I found the company website and called their corporate number and left a message and also filled out their contact them form on the website with my complaint how I was treated ... and after two weeks nobody has yet responded. What a f'ked up way to treat people. This store has no self respect that they own up and admit to what a*sholes they are nor do they respect their customers enough to apologize for one of their employees mistreating someone. read more

I would usually give this store a five star rating but the experience I had was nothing but horrible . I was trying to return some salad mix that I bought on the 16th but when I opened the bag it wasn't very crispy. I happened to stop on the 17th and I talked to a checker and explained the problem and she said bring it in for a refund. Today when I went in the blonde manager said I couldn't return it because it was expired. I tried to explain what happened and she kept talking over me. Asked to speak to the owner but they were in a meeting. Same manager came back and said that I could return it but still kept talking over me. It wasn't about the $3.69 but the attitude. Another manager came up and was very nice. This was the first time I ever tried to return anything to this store. If there ever is a time I need to return something again I will ask for the owners because I'm sure they would be professional than the manager. This manager will undoubtedly be a cause for list business. If I need to I will go to the marina store which is unfortunate because this manager is the only "bad apple of the bunch. Update. Huge fan of the Grocery Outlet chain. They have what I like, at a very reasonable price. The staff at this location are fine, not the most pleasant. I've had a more welcoming experience overall at the Marina location. The one staff member at this Seaside location who has been consistently welcoming is name Ivan. I see him more when I do my early morning shopping, but it's always nice to have a conversation with him. You don't really see that with the younger generation anymore. He's a funny guy, and we both have a strong passion for Soccer. This location and the company as a whole are lucky to have someone like him on payroll. The only con I have with him is he is a Real Madrid fan(PSG fan here) lol. read more

This is my favorite Grocery Outlet by far. They have great deals on everything from sustainable cutlery to craft beer and snacks. As a college student, this was my go-to grocery store to save money and get great food and drinks. Lisa goes above and beyond every time to help customers find adult beverages they will like. She is very knowledgeable and friendly, and has helped me many times as well as countless others. I also really enjoy the music they play in the store, as it's never a dull vibe when I shop there. This store is one of the cleanest I've been to and is very well-organized. If you've never been to a Grocery Outlet, then this one sets the bar high. read more

Cute little Grocery Outlet (GA) in the brands new Art Deco design, nestled between a main street and a bedroom neighborhood. We needed to pick up some essentials for our stay in Monterey and GA had it all. Nice variety of sparkling waters (we bought several!), artisan cheeses, cured meats, gourmet crackers, and the biggest standout feature unlike the stores in my home area, was the broad variety of fish. I was so envious and wished we had bought our cooler to stock up! The store was very clean, no debris in isles, good selection of items and well stocked. We shopped twice during our stay in Monterey and will definitely be our go-to when in town. read more

One star off for not enforcing indoor mask mandate! I saw several ladies in the store without masks....told cashier and he just nodded....management needs to enforce this for the safety of others. I actually suggested to one woman that masks were required....and she told me to "bug off". Usually the maskless are untaxed also....sorry for their defiant attitude....management please enforce. I love going to this grocery outlet. I like looking for things for my son's lunchbox and I especially love during holidays going to find some fun treats to put in Easter baskets or Christmas stockings. I can usually find what I'm looking for whether it's baking yeast or top Ramen or New York steaks for $11! The produce has a good array of products as do their cheese and meat sections. You all know I shop at all the Grocery Outlets. This is the smallest store of them all but this store gets 5 starts because it has a special parking spot right in front of the store just for our Veterans. It's next to handicapped parking just a few feet from the entrance. I haven't seen any other Grocery Outlets in this state do this but I really think they should. Maybe it's because this store is located in Seaside which used to be, and still is to some capacity, a big military town. read more

I love Grocery Outlet! I can always get Staples here like milk, cheese, potatoes, coffee and dog food. But the fun part is the hunt for treasures especially on the far left isle where they have different specialty packaged foods all the time. I have been gluten-free for 35 years and they get a lot of different GF items, frozen pizza, packaged cookies, bars, crackers, etc. There are fun things to try out and sometimes I get hooked on something that I would have never found somewhere else. One of the best experiences for me has been their liquor dept. They have multiple brands of gluten-free beer and if I find something that I love the dept manager will reorder it for me. I usually stop by this location when I'm workin, since I work in the area. I have a pretty pleasant experience most times. Not everything is always in stock, but that's understanfable. What is NOT understandable is how rude one of the employees is, Becky. Not only did she ignore me purposely, but when I repeated myself she disregarded me by saying "I have a lot of work to do", and when I said "yeah, typically work is work", she said something to the effect of it being "psychology," which I honestly didn't understand because that's what a job is -work- She aggressively rushed through the transaction. I had to ask her TWICE to go back to the previous screen on the key pad so that I could input my number for the rewards. I don't think this woman understands that working in customer service means not being rude, or ignoring customers or brushing them off as a nuisance. I get that everyone has their things going on, but treating humans in such a terrible way is unacceptable. read more

A great addition to the world of super markets. The stock is unpredictable and the product expiration chancy but those aspects aside the prices are often amazing, selection adequate and on rare occasions they offer big name products at deep discounts. Some days I walk in and leave with nothing, other days enter with one thing in mind and leave with a grocery cart full of amazing deals on products I love. Buyer beware on the product expiry dates but even it its something like the large Naked Blueberry for $1.99 because its going bad in 1-2 days. I am all to happy to adjust my diet for the next two days to include that yumminess with a savings of well over $4-$5. I site that as an example but you get the idea. The store is clean and the staff courteous. Despite the products varying greatly from week to week the layout and organization rarely changes so you can find what you would expect in the same aisle. They tell you how much you saved at purchase time and the number almost always matches the purchase amount or more and I take it with a grain of salt as that seems subjective; but I always leave knowing I saved far more money buying what I needed their than at Safeway. If you shop like me, on grocery day I hit Grocery Outlet and see what gems they satisfy and end at Safeway filling the gaps encountered at G.O. Keep doing what you guys do and hope this helps others!!! P.S. I dinged a star for no other reason than I devote my 5stars for truly exceptional. A nice and clean store in a well maintained and nicely appointed shopping center. We found everything we needed for a picnic lunch. Good selection for the most part if you're not super particular about finding exact bran ds. We got great deals on short expiration items like Quaker flavored packets of oatmeal (I eat these all the time), lunch meat, cheese, and shelf stable milk. These were just our finds this time, we are just visiting, but I sometimes find similar good deals at my local grocery outlets. The fun is in the hunt. Lol. The service was good from the one staff person I asked about finding an item although she thought they didn't have any in stock and I found some in the front area. The cashier was efficient and polite. Overall, it was a good trip and a good store. read more

I've been shopping here for several years and see some changes which I don't like. They expanded the assortiment and hire more employees, which is good, but they raised prices. Now some items are priced higher than in COSTCO or/and Trader Joe's. They used to be famous for their lowest food prices, no more now. Also they took off the "Restroom" sign, locked the restrooms and deprived their customers from using the restrooms in the store. It is very inconvenient, because lots of customers shop with kids, there are senior customers and there is always a chance of bathroom emergency. Noone wants to pee their pants while waiting in the line for a cashier. My kids asked me to use the restroom while we were standing in line, the staff member said that they can't open the restrooms for customers, so the kids couldn't wait and wet their pants. I am never coming here again and I am not advising Seaside location for customers with kids and seniors read more
