Always very clean, nice wide aisles, and amaazing products e.g., green olives with almonds, interesting wines and spirits, fresh produce, and meats. Though hit & miss --especially when seeking products purchased in the past -- this is still a far better Grocery Outlet than Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa feels dirty, part of this is not the store management fault, its the crowd in this neighborhood, very sketchy. read more

* I am in love, I am in love * The first time I ever went to Grocery Outlet Bargain Market was in Orange. I'm excited to see them popping up closer and closer to where I live (south County). The Irvine location is a bit hidden, I'll say. It's in the Barnes & Noble centre in Woodbridge there.. but it's hidden. It is visible from the road AFTER you pass it, but if you park by Barnes & Noble and the cinema, it's in the back. I didn't think that was typical for most grocery stores, but it's a nice, few minute walk, so I didn't mind. I love this store because of their very competitive prices. This location has a great selection on protein bars, nuts, dried fruits, and jerky--all of which I take hiking. Also a good produce section, and good deals there. The manager, Angie, has to go. We were trying to ask a very nice employee a couple of questions about inventory in this store and she ordered him away from us because we were "talking too long." We confronted her and asked for her name, and if we could speak with her Supervisor. She said her name was Angie and that "no one" was "above her." I doubt she's the owner with that poor attitude and leadership. I feel bad for the employees on her shift. We left the store to shop elsewhere. Very disappointing, and those employees deserve better. I spend a lot of money in this store every week. I have a family of 5 (3 teenage sons) and 2 dogs so the low prices are appreciated. Well... Looks like I won't be coming back after the poor service from the "new owner". I had a 30% off one item coupon from the Irvine Company book. They had our dog food in stock so I decided to use it. The dog food is $18 a bag so I figured I would save the $5 and change. Well... I guess not. The new owner refused to honor the valid coupon basically telling me that the coupon left with the prior ownership. Petty and poor customer service. Good start by the new ownership. Hope it was worth losing the $200+ we used to spend each month at this Grocery Outlet over less than $6. I will make sure I post on Next Door too. Very pleasantly surprised! I was going to do an in and out just to see and then head to TJ's where I always grocery. The first 2 isles did not impress me. I felt like I was at the dollar store and thought I'd only find gmo's and items soon perishing due to the name. I wound up scoring quite the haul with loads of good buys on organic items and super foods surprisingly. I don't know how consistently they get the same items but I'm thinking of going back to stock up on a couple things like Avocado and Coconut Oils. I'm very loyal to Trader Joe's and venture to Whole Foods for some specialty health foods and personal care items. I will stop here again next time I'm in the neighborhood. Update: I'm back. Those organic grass fed petite fillets got me back here and the super antioxidant tart cherry juice. Found lots of other great buys. Even some bathroom products. I'll be back. read more

Omg, this place is amazing. My boyfriend and i stopped in after dropping $100+ at Whole Foods, and I regret buying snacks at Whole Foods now! This place is SNACK HEAVEN!! They had Brazil nuts for $9.99 which is unheard of, and organic Hawaiian coffee (2 pounds worth!) for $10! I cannot believe it. Great store to go to if you don't have a shopping list. This is one of those stores that has mind-blowing prices, so you have to be prepared to buy multiples. The store is very neat and clean, easy to navigate through, and not usually busy. They have one good aisle of organic and natural foods (as well as in the frozen section), but this location only carries beer and wine for alcohol (no hard liquor). Plenty of parking, as it's situated at the end of the plaza, next door to a yoga studio and a plaza of eateries. read more

I have never shopped at this market before so I wanted to try it out. I was wearing a sheer cloth mask that I wear out to plenty of places to shop and even have worn it inside of doctor offices and urgent care. I have breathing issues that can lead to dizziness and chest pain. Instead of being greeted at the front door when I walked in-I was yelled at and rudely asked if I had a mask on when I clearly did. The woman told me that it was too see-through? Okay, that's fine. A lot of places provide paper masks if you forget one which I would have worn with no issues. I asked her if I should leave to which she turned away from me shaking her head. I understand if you are just trying to do your job but there is a polite way to treat a potential patron and that definitely wasn't it. Great prices, good selections! I found a 10 pack beyond classic cookout frozen burger patties for $7.99. In addition, they had Tony's chocolate for like less than $2 when I know I paid close to $6 at other stores. Also picked up some activia yogurt for a buck each. They had some about to expire deals which was also 8 activia drinkable yogurt for only 0.98! Crazy good deals if you can consume it within a couple of days. For other stuff that is regular price, prices are similar to your local stores. Overall, place was clean, not crowded and well organized. Will be coming back! read more

The always have great and interesting deals on their WOW emails. However, more often than not, they do not have those items in stock or they just lie to you. There was an ad for Sensodyne toothpaste. Called the store a few times and they confirmed it is there. However, when we got there, they said it was not the correct item and the one on the ad is "sold out". I've been here about 5 times and each time either only one or no cashier available. Such slow check out. I bought a candy bar I thought was a bargain at $1 but when I checked the expiration date it was the same date I bought it! I should have figured. The worst part may not be all the stores fault but they really need to monitor the parking lot for carts. It's unfortunate shoppers are inconsiderate and rude to leave carts in any given parking spot because they are lazy but the store needs to make sure carts are regularly taken back to the store. I'm giving this rating because the cashier I always get is so nice and courteous with me every time I go. However, this rating would have been lower because I wish these reviews were all lies but sadly they were not. Went in today to get a few items and after having read the reviews I kept an eye on the pricing of my items, guess what?!?! These reviews were indeed correct. The price of the item said 3.49 for one of them and 3.99 for the other, on the signage. As soon as I got to the register one of those items showed up as 10.99. When the manager got called up he said it was 10.99 and then proceeded to explain that even though it was the same item, if I were to look at the packaging, one was clearly bigger which was the reasoning for the item being 10.99. Again, both items were labeled being 3.49 for once and 3.99 for the other. NONE of the other products for similar items were labeled as 10.99 while I was checking, and I checked a lot. I was okay until the manager tried to justify the reasoning for the huge price increase at the register and it being because one item was clearly in a bigger packaging. The packaging was only slightly bigger. Same quantity of items in the box, just slightly bigger packing lol. read more

For instance, The most expensive item I bought today was only $3 and it was bag of 6 large fresh bell peppers, quite the steal! Everything else was $0.99 cents to $1.99, not too shabby!! I love grocery outlet. I haven't been to other ones but this one is great love the location and there's usually parking. I see the owners around sometimes they seem very nice. The prices are the best I've seen around, honestly. I always think I'm gonna spend about $30 and it ends up being less than $20 which is crazy with how much I get for it. A lot of the stores in this center aren't open yet so there's not that many people so I can easily shop around. There's stuff here that are $2 less than what I find at places like ralphs. First of all, I love walking to the grocery store without crossing a major highway. It's convenient to the bike path so I pass it regularly. When we just needed cheese and sour cream last night, we decided to walk there cause I knew they'd have the basics. But it's a plus when there are so many other gets deals that we walked out with many other goodies as well. I love that even when it's "busy" it doesn't feel as chaotic as mainstream grocery stores. I can get most of my produce here and the meat we've had is great as well. It's only a bummer that things change so frequently (they used to have coconut creamer, but now they don't). This is a brand new Grocery Outlet located in the Woodbridge center. It is more or less in the same space where the Korean supermarket used to be (even though all the buildings are now remodeled so I suppose it would also be where the Stein Mart used to be as well). The entrance is on the Del Taco side of the plaza. The prices are variable as there are some items that are more or less at the general market price (such as Rubbermaid food tubs) and some that that would be comparable to discount store prices like 99 cents stores. But there are some that are even better like the Lean Cuisines (which I think were 2 for $3), even though there's only one flavor of that available compared to other supermarkets like Albertsons. The square footage inside is similar to a 99 Cents store with wider aisles for more maneuverability, but you could probably only fit about 3 (wide) people side by side in an aisle. Sometimes people bumped into me, but I do have a big butt. There were maybe 3-4 checkouts open at the time. They were non-self-checkouts. At the time the cashier was both bagging and checking out so it took a short time for it to process. There's a TV that shows advertisements above the checkout. I think they were not distributing any more free stuff for the grand opening event since I received nothing even after I bought something. But they were still having some giveaways outside by the large climbing structure. And balloon art too. read more

I LOVE Grocery Outlet! I do my best to visit as many locations, because each store has something different to offer. What I like about this particular location is it's cleanliness and they offer more gluten-free varieties than other locations I have visited. I'm a total snack monster so Grocery Outlet has always been my go-to for random GF goodies and healthy food alternatives. And cheese. And of course, their inexpensive wines! However, it does takes me a long time to decide on a bottle because I like to look up reviews before deciding on a purchase - one can never be too careful when choosing from a selection of cheaply priced alcoholic beverages. If you're patient enough, you're bound to find something decent. Like today, I picked up a bottle of Stella Rosa Imperiale Brachetto D'Acqui for $6.99! And who doesn't love seeing how much money you saved, circled at the bottom of your receipt? Specially when it is a greater than your actual purchase! Only con... beware of expiration dates! Location isn't bad and the selection seems like a one off situation....like it fell of a truck type of situation and some brands are a hit and miss. It definitely has all the essential main products, hygiene products, fruits, meats, breads and vegetables etc. The prices are marked to show you their price and most other retail prices. I was so excited to see a good selection of different kombucha brands at way lower prices than other stores. Found some very good quality meat as well as better prices on bagged salads that are always a shopping trip must for me. So I LOVE the craft beer, $4-20 wine, and the obscure ice cream selection. Yet the fifth star is non existent because the atmosphere only warrants 4 stars.
