Been coming here for years now. Just recently they have apparently been enforcing a new policy requiring all bikes to be left outside; even when there are literally 2 customers in the entire store. Guess I'll be going to other stores or the Grocery Outlet in Lemmon Valley until that silly rule changes. Selection is much better up north anyway even though a bit out of the way. read more

Well lets just start by the owner Kennedy. This women is completely unprofessional I witnessed her arguing with a women as well as cussing in front of her customers and she ripped shirts out of the womens hands. Started threatening her when the lady wasnt doing anything wrong. Due to her being unprofessional I'd like to get the word out! There were even small children around. A decent store with good prices. Most items are standard and are stocked all the time but a small percentage are specialized. Items like banana milk may be in the store only for a day or two, never to be seen again. But, that's what makes Grocery Outlet so wonderful. This particular store is one of my favorites. With friendly staff and shelves that are stocked well. Don't like what you see when you go there? That's okay, just wait a few days and try again. As far as healthy food choices and prices, this store gets 5 stars. Treatment of customers? Zero. I rode from downtown to the Kietzke location to do my weekly shopping, and was asked to surrender my backpack at the front counter. "Are you implying that I am here to steal? Do I strike you as a thief?" I asked. "Well, what does a thief look like?", was the response I received. I located management and tried to explain what bad form it is to treat a customer with such contempt, and that my reasons for not surrendering my PERSONAL BELONGINGS were, just that. Personal. (I had over $1k in comic books in my backpack) I asked, if I refused to surrender my bag, if I would be permitted to patronize the establishment. "absolutely not", was the response. According to the manager, I "do not pay the bills to cover loss, therefore I wouldn't understand their reasoning". ACTUALLY, IF YOU TOOK A BUSINESS MANAGEMENT COURSE, YOU'D KNOW THAT, IN FACT, I DO. Finally, there is a customer in front of me with a large basket, and now he doesn't have all items to check out. I ask the checker if she can call anyone, WHY DOESN'T SHE DO THIS AUTOMATICALLY? She replies very snottily that she's working on it, then after a 30-second pause finally calls for a checker. The 2nd checker comes from the back, doing god knows what, and gingerly walks up, no sense of urgency or hustle. Anyways, a very disappointing experience so many times, especially considering I have been shopping with you for over 20 years. Please get some management and employees that give a $hit. If sales are down I can guarantee you it's because of the terrible checkout experience, they just move on and shop somewhere else and if they come back and it's the same they just move on again, nobody says anything, and you are left sending out Wednesday mailers hoping to gain new customers to make up for the loyal ones you lost. This store has a daytime manager that you would NOT want to have an encounter with. She is skinny, has straight hair and could not smile at you even if her life depended on it. In fact, she is very good at giving you dirty ugly looks, especially if you ask her a question, or even if you don't.. She makes it an unpleasant experience to shop there. I will from now on, stop giving her an opportunity to treat me like sh** and start shopping at another store where they actually appreciate my business. Grocery Outlet is a neat place to shop and save a few bucks if you know your prices. They have most everything a normal grocery store has, but at close out prices. I live nearby so when I just need to pick up a few items I stop here. Checkout is normally fast and staff is friendly. This store is in the same shopping complex as Savers, and King Buffet right on the corner of Kietzke and Peckham. They also have another location on Oddie but I've never tried that one. read more

You can find great bargains here if you know what you're looking for! They have also done random in-store giveaways in the past. I've found great deals on quality Contigo coffee mugs and various brands of jeans. This place is like a grocery store and department store in one. Staff are friendly for the most part. The location can be desired, just be aware of your surroundings while in the area. The parking lot here is always touch and go, cars can zip across the drive lane at any time, it could benefit from some curbing as people drive randomly through the lot. read more

If I had not read about Grocery Outlet on 'chowhound' I never would have stopped there. Chowhound posters review the Grocery Outlet's in Northern California, but I have found that the Reno G.O. carries most of the same merchandise. I'm sort of like a kid in a candy store at Grocery Outlet, I love looking for new bargains. Some of the things I have found there recently, some great wine with retail prices of $10-$12 for around $3 a bottle, including a really nice Chilean White wine that I have seen elsewhere for $12 a bottle. Limes 10 for $1, Nature's Gate bath products around $2 a bottle, Beamish Stout (haven't had it since I was last in GB & it's great) 4 cans for $4.99, while I didn't buy any I noticed they had several Amy's Organic Frozen entrees for about 1/2 of the normal price The store isn't always tidy, and it would be an awful place to go to with a shopping list since their inventory is always hit or miss, but it's a bargain hunters paradise read more

Depending upon what is in stock any given day, there can be some really great discounts. Unfortunately, this place always seems somewhat dingy and dirty. Staff helpfulness and attitude is hit or miss. Sometimes staff is really on it, and other times, not so much. Locked bathrooms are inconvenient, although it is probably for the transient folks who are often in the parking lot. read more

I'm obsessed with this store! You can get normally expensive higher end brands and items for cheap here. Just be sure to look at the dates on perishables. I come here before going to Other stores because sometimes I can get a better quality item here and for less. They Continuously have new items to choose from also. Example sometimes the same bag of quinoa that is 18$ elsewhere will be 7.99 here. I just bought a 4 pack of halo birthday cake ice cream for almost the same price as Just one pint everywhere else and it was perfectly fresh. They are not limited to groceries either they have other sections the same as any grocery store. read more

Grocery Outlet on Kitzke - they're selling products that are coming from the Smithfield meatpacking plant - which over 200 of their workers tested positive for the coronavirus - I asked the manager if I could return one item that was frozen from them and he said no - he said he knows that they came from that plant and he doesn't care - they're going to sell it anyway so I guess they care about money more than they care about people - I will never go back to the store again ever - I suggest nobody else goes there either unless they want the coronavirus since grocery outlet doesn't care - the manager was a young guy look like he was about 25 or 30 read more

I checked this place out after first discovering it in San Diego. This location doesn't have as many all natural things as the one in San Diego does. It does have a decent amount though of all natural products just not as much. The food here doesn't look particularly great. Looks like off beat brands. Some things like Tom's of Maine products are cheaper on Vitacost. Would go back but wouldn't make this the main place I shop at. Oh one really good thing. They have Greek yogurts (the individualized ones) for almost half cheaper than Walmart, Trader Joe's, and Safeway. Those places tend to charge $1.00 for them. Here they were like .59. read more

There are purposely mismarked items so that you think something is a bargain, but when the item is charged the price is vastly different. You need to know how much your tab should be, watch the register as the items are tallied and double check the receipt before you leave, otherwise you will be making a second trip to return the mischarged items. read more

I walked into the new store on lemmon valley drive outside reno nv,wanted a single onion witch I could not get didn't need 2 or 4 lbs of onions. had already had a small basket with items that I could get single items, not being able to get what I needed put basket down and walked to the doors, an employee saw me leaving, im sure see saw I was un happy for waisiting my time going into this store, asked me whats wrong not even nicely asking, told her I could not get a single onion, she said well do you know how the store works I said I did not, didn't even explain much, i explained I just wanted a single onion, her reply was then go across the street and get your onion smiths and walmart are across the way, really that's your answer, will not recommend this store or visit this store, told my family this store is off limits. I like going to this store from time to time and you do find good deals. My only complaint is that the checker questioned a price on a product when it rang up lower than thought it should be. He said he thought the price was wrong and I told him it was what the display said. You would probably pay a $1 more at Walmart. Anyway, I didn't appreciate the attitude or being made to feel like I was trying to rip the store off. Then, while I was waiting to get my receipt, he had a side conversation with a co-worker about how a regular customer was mad about how the price went up on an item that she came in to buy regularly. They made a rude comment about her wanting to work there as if they were far superior to her. Maybe they need to consider that being condescending to the customers isn't the way for a store to succeed. read more

Recently this location has been under new management. Since then I've noticed an extremely annoying trend revolving around items on shelves without prices. Is this a big deal? Yes. I'm not here to sight see, I'm there to shop, and when I constantly have to track down an employee or have a checker check a price, it not only aggravates me but makes me wish the previous owners were still at this location. Not only that, there are far too many items sitting above price indicators for other items. Many times these are items that were sold out days before. The new owners seem to be very nice people but they need to have someone watching out for these kinds of details instead of milling about like extras from The Walking Dead. I know they don't pay much and that's usually a reflection of how motivated an employee is to maintain the quality of service. But people, when they care so little, the obvious goes unnoticed and the shopping experience borders on offensive if not ridiculous. Case in point. They sell Kimchee and that's great because I like Kimchee. But when stockers display jars of the product that are not only half full but damn near dry, it makes me wonder if bonus's are being paid with coupons from the nearest dispensary. There is this lady who works there her name is Alicia(i think) the point is that you should stay away from her line! She's blond and skinny. She's extremly mean and not cordial at all! I asked to speak to a manager...turns out she is the manager! So she makes you feel uncomfortable and she gives u the worst looks ever. A friend in another city suggested that I shop here to try and save money. I was dubious as I thought their food was not name brand or maybe expired. I could not have been more wrong! I save a ton on cereal, snacks. meats. cheese, fruits and vegetables here. I can get name brand cereal here for .99 cents opposed to $3.50 a box at target. I even saved a lot on a toy for one of my kids here at Grocery outlet that I priced other places in town at $30 and got for $24 here minus $3 off from one of their coupons. Food has really skyrocketed in last year and I feel like I save a lot here! And a lot of it is organic brands that you would find at Wholefoods. I have seen fancy granola here for $1.99 priced at $5 at wholefoods. Staff are really mellow and helpful too.
