I remember a time several years ago I hardly ever shopped here but that was not that I didn't like their products. Not at all, it was more that I was programed to think that the larger supermarket chains was may best friend. I found out that I was wrong. One example is that I bought a 5 pound bag of red potatoes the other day. Then I purposely waited for the Corned Beef to go on sale at the big chain supermarkets which it did! I looked at many different brands and no matter the brand name of the C B which were all small cuts from different areas of the cow, went for like $20 for just over 2 LB'S. As we all know these things shrink when you cook them. So I would have had to buy 3 packages and spend almost $60! I have never spent that kind of money on corned beef in my life! Now, what the heck am I going to do with all those red potatoes I bought? I shop here much more lately!

Receipt showing I was charged for 6 avocados when in reality I only took 3 home. I paid $5 extra :(

I have been coming to this store for a few months now. Overall, I like it because it is not as busy as other locations, it is well-stocked, there is a nice variety of products, and parking is easy. Always parking spots available. However, the reason I am choosing to go with 2 stars is because it has been three times that I am overcharged. For example, a couple of weeks ago I was charged for 2 bags of limes but I only had one. Today I was charged for 6 avocados but I only purchased 3. That was $5 extra paid today. I know it is not much but it adds up, especially since it keeps on happening. I bag my groceries with reusable bags so I don't monitor the screen showing the prices because I am rushed to pack everything and move out of the way as soon as I am done paying. Also, most of the cashiers are nice, but there is one that is a little rude. He threw my groceries onto the area where I was bagging them. It was not personal. I see that is how he is with everyone that comes by. That doesn't mean it is okay to throw them though. Conclusion: I recommend it but I advise you to monitor the screen so that you can make sure you are not paying for items you didn't buy.

Produce selection is the best here

I love Grocery Outlet, I've been coming hear nearly every weekend for years. I guess I've been hesitant to post about it for fear the secret will get out. It has great prices- some things much more than others, it's clean, and 99% of the time we have a super fast checkout experience. I go to Safeway or Lucky's occasionally to grab a few things and am always shocked by the prices because I'm so used to shopping here. Years ago, when I suggested to my husband that he check this place out he was super hesitant. But after one trip he fell in love and is hooked. Not everything is a great deal, but just about everything I buy on a regular basis is much cheaper than other stores. And no, everything you buy here is NOT expired or about to expire. There are some random items they get that are close to expiration, but generally most items still have a long shelf life. We love this store because it has the best produce quality and selection of all the GO's in the area. It's also less crowded. I've shopped here at all times of the day and on different days and never had to wait more than a few minutes to check out. I'm a vegetarian and they often have a great selection of plant-based meats way cheaper than a regular grocery store. Almond milk is also a great deal here. I often find new products that I love for steep discounts. Random items like these are usually only available for 1 or 2 weeks, so I stock up. They do have some off-brands, but many items are name brand. I still occasionally go to a regular store for specialty items, but I can usually find just about everything I need here on a regular basis, and I cook most of my meals all week. They have a large parking lot, so parking is never a problem. Download the app for coupons. I've gotten $5 off every week for the last month.

Inside the old Rasputin building. Good shopping experience. Lots of impulse items. Great team working here. Good values - some items aren't marked with prices. This is a building that I was familiar with in the past. Used to be a fun place - no longer. Moms go shopping here now. The children are hungry. Good values. Got a huge cookie sheet that I will use for changing oil. Perfect for spills. Very low price - I think less than if I would get a similar drip pan from Autozone. Some items aren't marked. The cookie sheet wasn't and also a tiny live Christmas tree. The tree turned out to cost $20 when I had it price checked. I liked it but not that much. At Home Depot right now all similar holiday decorations are half off right now so late in the game. Tons of impulse items. If you don't stick to your shopping list its easy to get carried away. After I walked in I was so distracted I forgot why I needed to go to a grocery store in the first place. The people in front of me filled their shopping cart with maybe 40 or 80 of the same item. I think this place is best to find something you really like for a low price and then stock up on it. Good shopping experience. The workers here are great. There were only 10 people in the store - yet right when I was ready to check out so was every single shopper there. Quickly two more registers were opened. Overall I can't get too excited about this location. I probably won't ever return for no particular reason. Different locations are a bit of a different feeling. Try various different stores to see if you like one more than another for whatever reason.

This commercial space was built in 1955. There was always tenants changing. With Grocery Outlet moving in, this space was named after them. Tenants: eats: Services Shopping -taqueria. Metro Beck's shoes -neveria Nails. Grocery Outlet Cleaners Big 5 parking lot isn't big. Peak hours late afternoon may exhaust spaces. This g.o. Is better than most. doesn't compare with ones in higher income locales.

Do they have some great deals in here or what?? Yeah, I've been sleeping on Grocery Outlet for a while now, and now I'm a regular, lol!!! They have a little bit of everything here, some brands you've heard of and some you haven't, so you can't be afraid to try something new brand wise. The cashiers here are very nice, I'll be dipping in here from time to time more often now!!

I'm all for savings so when I heard a new Grocery Outlet was opening I made the drive over. Place is new, clean, organized and larger than most offering a variety of items from personal care, cleaning products, produce, meats, snacks, cheeses, wine and NOSH section: Natural, Organic, Specialty, Healthy foods at discounted prices. And for those with gluten, dairy, nut, soy allergies they have a nice selection, including frozen items. Staff friendly and welcoming but giving 4 stars for now as a checker was nice and all, but really? What's up with the full blown yawns with sound effects...um, 4 times while being checked out. I did see his name (but won't note) as this is more for constructive feedback...might want to save that for outside the job. :/

Not a big fan of Grocery outlet since last time I stopped by at another branch, it was dirty and had many expired items but today I was in the area and saw that this was new so I gave it a try. I was impressed on how cleaned it was. There was a line of unsanitized carts outside the store arranging nicely. After I entered, there was another line of sanitized carts so I grabbed one and browsed throughout the store. The store was clean and everything was arranged nicely. Employees were really friendly and helpful. Many organic items and the price was not bad at all. Also, there was an aisle of wine......plenty of them :) One thing though, you have to check the expiration date of everything. Well that's why it's a discount store right ;-) I will check them out again when I am in the area.

If y'all are doing the keto diet, grocery out has tons of cheap keto products! This is for the week of 8/30/23. Some of the other stuff were almost the same prices like the super market, not as cheap as before. Parking is so narrow.

I enjoy checking out different Grocery Outlets as each one carries different inventories. I heard that a new location opened in San Leandro at the strip mall across from Wal-Mart. Since I was in the area, I decided to stop by this store. This use to be the old Rasputin Music store and the strip mall has a good sized parking lot. Grocery Outlets are franchises so each store has its own uniqueness to them with respect to inventory. A store might carry more inventory in one category or different product offerings. So it can be a treasure hunt on each visit. The floor space here is large in comparison to most stores. Due to it large floor space, it feels spacious due to the wider aisles. The produce, meat and refrigerated section covers the entire back wall of the store. The store carries a lot of inventory in each category, so you get a lot of option here. The shelves were well stocked and the cashier was friendly. This is one of the better stores that I've shopped. A good store choice for you Grocery Outlet shoppers.

    Missing prices.

Clean store and not as busy as other locations. However , this store, like many others don't have price tags on a lot of items. For a store that supposed to be the bargain store, it would not hurt to know how much you're paying for it. I leave a lot of items on the shelf.

I went to pick it up on Wednesday, only to be told it wasn't ready yet. When I explained that I had already called it in on Sunday, the employee initially said she didn't see anything in the system and told me to come back the next day. After I reminded her again that I had called in, she suddenly "found" it and told me to come back in 2 hours and that I would receive a text message when it was ready. I never received the text message they promised. I returned on Friday, and once again they couldn't locate my prescription. After more searching, they finally found it -- but they also tried to give me someone else's order at the same time. I had to explain that I only had one prescription and asked them to verify it using my phone number, not just my last name. The entire experience was very unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating. On top of that, the drive-thru wait was over 20 minutes. For something as important as prescriptions, accuracy and communication should be a priority. This pharmacy seriously needs to improve its customer service and organization.

Whoa I had driven down this road many times but totally missed glances over here. Maybe I looked…read moreonce but thought it wasn't for the public. You see US Foods is one of the big wholesale food distributers that restaurants big and small use. They will deliver big loads of goods whether food or supplies right to the restaurant, usually on pay terms so no cash is handled. And for busy restaurants this is a must, as they constantly need raw goods coming in weekly if not daily. This is the first time I saw a 'US Foods' store. I think they took over something else. But it is a big store/space where almost everything is in bulk and/or wholesale form. For the home cook there is really nothing here that would fit their needs/kitchen unless you like to buy in bulk. 20 - 50 pound bags of beans, sugar or flour is usually just too much for an average Joe to carry to the car, let alone store in a home pantry. But if you like to entertain/cook for a large group like a big birthday, a bbq outing or big holiday get-togethers, then this place may serve you a purpose. I browsed one day and got a good feel for the place and here are my observations. If you go into the fresh produce area or the meat/dairy areas, you will have to go into a refrigerated room. The whole room is about 35 degrees so if you go in there in shorts and/or a t-shirt, then you will not be able to stay in there for too long. Produce not really extensive but you will be able to find some basics. Some things are in cases/big bags but not everything. Actually lots of things in smaller packaging like 2-3 pounds which is doable for a home fridge/usage. I'd say the offerings here are somewhat similar to what you could get at Costco. Meats are a mixed bag. Lots of processed meats like deli meat in whole form. Lots of cheese too but much too bulky for a home fridge. There are pork and beef but all in big/whole chunks. Nothing will be cut into steaks. Big packs too like minimum 10 pounds or more. But if you're cooking for a big group, you're gonna need a minimum of 10 pounds so this may be a draw for me. The bad is for the beef selection, even though the pricing did seem good, there is no 'choice' grade. They use 'select' grade here, which is a notch down from choice. But if you're just braising or slow cooking then this grade would be just fine. Costco only serves 'choice' grade or higher so theirs is more premium. Pork is fine here, I got some pork tenderloin in 2 packs, which is one of the smallest packages I saw, ideal for home usage. Good selection of restaurant ware. Pots, utensils and storage containers. This is a big draw for me as I love restaurant quality storage containers. They are sturdy, with tight lids and many are stackable. These are even hard to find at Costco and Smart and Final. On a weekday morning there is zero traffic here, complete opposite of Costco. Now this is more geared towards restaurants, but knowing if I can get something here or Costco, I will choose this, as the parking and ease to get in and out is an amazing asset to me. I was gonna give them 3 stars for not really being friendly for home usage but given those certain occasions where I'm cooking for 10 or more people, then this place will get a heavy consideration. And drum roll please******no membership card needed. Open to the public. **cymbal crash**

Slightly bigger than a 7-11 so not grocery store sized. Not seriously stocked but for a neighborhood store, I'm sure it has most things to make a convenient trip. The produce area is small and not extensive at all. But you will find the basics to make basic Hispanic meals. Tomatoes, fresh chilis, onions, potatoes and cilantro all plentiful here. Just won't find stuff a bigger Hispanic grocery store might carry, like exotic fruits, fresh nopales (cactus), prickly pears etc... Dry goods well represented from canned and bottled sauces to tons of choices of dry beans in all shapes and sizing. A rack of dried chilis make it proper and they even have shelves with non-hispanic items like canned/dried American convenience foods. Multiple racks of tortillas too, so will not leave you hanging for those. There is a meat counter with actual butchers. It is small but with good inventory. I got some house made chorizo here that I liked much better than the ready made ones in packages. But you do have to use it within a couple of days as it doesn't have all the preservatives the packaged ones have. And in that meat counter there is also a heat lamp area where they do homemade chicharon, which I tried once and found they are pretty legit. They use whole strips of pork belly and fry it to a serious crisp. Seasoned perfectly with just salt and the strips have big strips of meat along with crisp fat and skin. Similar to lechon kawail (Filipino) but this is just more crisp/dry. But to get this warm is so good, much better warm than cold as the fat is more unctuous when warm. I love this cut into smaller pieces then dipped in either a hot sauce or a spicy garlic vinegar. Serious draw here for me. I think they put these out by 10 am and by noon to 1pm they run out, a local told me. So as a store, I think they are a solid 3*, they are more convenient than they are impressive. But the cashiers are pretty nice and that chicharon station, oh man I just got to give them extra points for that. Trust
