This location is usually packed when I come, but I am not surprised given the quality of the groceries and awesome customer service. Still, I was here today after 12 pm on a Saturday, and there were at least 2 open counters when I was ready to pay, so I did not have to wait in line! The location is consistently kept well maintained and clean. This TJ offers a nice variety of groceries. I am a fan of their frozen foods especially the hash brown patties. The ladies at the checkout counter who assisted me today were very cordial. The bagger especially was super friendly and even complimented my hat. How often does that happen these days in a grocery store? Parking can be very hard to find especially after 5 pm and weekends. Located in the very corner of a shopping mall - easy to miss this location even with your GPS working. The store itself is a pretty typical though smaller than average Trader Joe's. They have a good selection of fresh veggies, a smaller than average selection of wines and beers, and a typical selection of frozen items. - Staff are the best. As I'm checking out they ask my day, my weekend plans... we even talk about cooking the food or what's new in the store. They ask if I found everything I need, if I say "no"... they will investigate. There's no such thing as a "long line" here because the moment there are two or rarely three persons in a row, another cashier opens a checkout desk. The food is fresh and there is constant turnover. I love the floral area. (Have no idea why someone would order their wedding flowers from here and then get mad at them...I saw a review about that, that was undeserved). Carts are clean. Exploring their aisles is an adventure in food. Soooo many coffee styles ground and whole beans. That's a fun place to explore besides the chocolate area. I'm looking to try their dark chocolates for the antioxidants...and that is fun. Looking for fair trade and single source and you can find it while looking. The cheese area is nice! All in one place... another place to explore besides the wine area which is prolific for styles, price and locations. I love the "pumpkin & holiday" food seasons. Right now it's exploding with so many pumpkin flavored items. It's a fun time of year in the store. Okay now the parking...maybe crowded with impatient people... but if you're healthy ...park farther and burn off a calorie or two. Then you can get one of their yummy desserts! The employees are SUPER nice and even the shoppers. I've talked about foods and recipes with the people who shop there. And if you can't find a certain item they drop will personally walk you over to that items location. Was asked to "leave politely" when my service dog licked the ground by a blonde girl with a bun. Very confrontational and very rude. Stated "that's not what working dogs do". Wrote an email to corporate. Awful individual with no idea how to talk to consumers. Embarrassed by her higher than mighty attitude lol....also, the way she handled the situation was not in the confines of how to legally approach someone with a service animal. My dog was not out of control nor disruptive, which would warrant being asked to leave. I've taken my service dog MULTIPLE times and never had an issue//have never seen that female.....poor hiring choice/not very Trader Joe's personality material. read more

I must be spoiled because I would expect an employee pushing carts into the stall, right in front of the entrance, to pause and let people in. Not at this TJ's. Girl nearly ran into my daughter and me with no apologies for nearly hitting us head on. Had to step back to avoid it. Seriously, the impatience of some of the employees here is astounding. We did a double take when exiting so we wouldn't get run over. 1 star. The one thing I can say about this place is that it is spacious. Let me preface with: I f*cking love TJs. all of them. it's a grocery store, for heaven sake... so why only 1 star? I purchased my wedding florals from this location, and I dealt with Natalie throughout the process. from my initial phone call through pickup, it was the most painfully uncomfortable interaction of my life. even at pickup, my bridesmaids acknowledged that she was incredibly awkward and rude. so I had never ordered flowers from TJs before, but had read online that you could add to their normal daily order (call a week in advance for your order). so I called... indicated that I wanted to order some "extra florals" and natalie said "ok" *queue the silence* (I was told when I first called about 3 weeks in advance that they get a new order sheet every week...) so I asked her if she was going to tell me what they had available to order, to which she replied "oh you don't know what you want?!" alrighty... so I start rattling off some flowers that I saw at my local TJs in the Bay Area (thank goodness I took inventory). so we played this game of "do you have this flower? no? ok what about this one?" I even said at one point "I'm looking for some guidance here" because she was SO UNHELPFUL. my fiancé (now husband) was only hearing my half of the convo, and even he was cringing. she asked me what colors I wanted (at this point we're talking tulips), and I asked what colors they have because I don't know what colors are available - she said "oh, all kinds!" lmao. there was one particular flower that I asked about, and she actually laughed at me because "those dont come as single flowers" (ie I guess they are only potted). I briefly explained that I thought I saw them at my local TJs, but maybe I noted it down wrong. but she wouldn't let it go! she brought it up 2 more times during this phone conversation with absolute disbelief that I had seen this flower sold not in a pot. she even asked me where I live - I guess hoping to drive to that TJs to see this phenomenon herself? so anyway, she tells me when I come in, I can pick from the entire lot - I don't have to buy the ones I just ordered with her. "youre not married to them" is the exact phrase she used. FF to the day we go to pick up, and another worker goes to get Natalie for us, but it takes at least 10min (or so it felt), so we start picking some flowers from the regular display (otherwise we're just standing there awkwardly). when she finally does come out, she's got this attitude and tells me that she pulled all of the flowers for me already and they're waiting outside (off to the side, mind you) as if I was supposed to know that. my bridesmaids said they think they saw her complain about me to her co-workers (I'm not sure why, as I've not said anything more than "oh! ok! great!"). luckily, this was the end of our interaction with Natalie - we purchased our 3 carts of flowers and laughed about it the rest of the day (our floral selection was beautiful, and I could not be happier) read more

No time for a full evaluation of this TJ's location. I was in and out pronto the other day - just to pick up fresh flowers to add to a pitcher that I was gifting to a friend for her birthday. Trader Joe's is normally a good / reliable place to buy fresh flower bouquets. The quality is good, the selection varied, and the prices are fair. I've been to this particular store in the past, but not in a while. I was hoping that they wouldn't be too crowded, as I was on a short time frame, and that worked out beautifully. I found the bouquet I wanted in a short time, and was able to walk up to a cashier's lane just as they were finishing up with another shopper. They were actually changing over from one cashier to another at the time, and both of them took a moment to look at the flowers I'd picked, give a smile and compliment me on the ones I'd chosen. That was sweet. I walked out of the store with a smile on my face, as well. A couple of comments about the location of this store. It's on an inside spot in the North Ranch Center. Proximity to a number of restaurants in the same wing of the plaza makes for a sometime lack of convenient parking. Also, the entrance doors themselves are cramped from the angle of the building. I love this store and everyone is very helpful and kind! My one wish with Trader Joe's in general would be that they start using healthier oils in their products like olive, avocado, and coconut. They only use canola, soybean, sunflower, etc... those are highly processed and inflammatory. When they do include a better oil, like olive oil, they add canola too. My favorite sauce ever from here is their ZHOUG sauce. It's amazing and tasty on everything! I really wish they'd use olive oil instead of canola, especially for a healthy sauce like this. read more

STORE RUINED by BRIGHT LIGHTS.!!!!! TOO BAD! This used to be my favorite TJs, I went a week ago, and came in to bright strobe lights, I felt dizzy and disoriented and got a headache that persisted the whole evening. I will never return. And I'm someone who never gets headaches. I'm not sure what is wrong w the lights but I immediately reacted to them. Won't ever shop here again, ever unless they change back the lamps to something pleasant. Have they heard of soothing cozy atmosphere? TJs is known for a pleasant shopping experience, not warehouse atmosphere. The lights turned the place inte a warehouse coldness. I've never EVER had this experience in any other store. I was baffled, maybe it was flickering LEDs? ‍ I just know that I felt extremely unwell. SO I'LL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN, unless lighting changes back to something normal my eye can handle. For the first time in almost 20 years i made a return. I accidentally bought double of an item I don't use a lot of. Didn't realize by returning I would be made to feel like it was a crime. The woman who helped me at the "customer service" counter told me. "Next time check your pantry". Wow. How about Next time she not be rude about it. She didn't need to speak to me this way when explaining they cant put it back on the shelf. I value customer service. One of my fave things about TJ's is that checkout is always so fast & cashiers are always so friendly. They obviously strive to make customers' wait time minuscule to none. In just 15 mins, I can do my weekly shopping, checkout & be getting back in my car already. Always seamless. As for their items, I love the canned Underwood Rosé Bubbles by Union Wine Company. This review isn't so much about this store in particular, which is fine, as far as Trader Joe's go. This is more about the chain in general, and, since there's no place to review the entire business.......... I used to get almost all my food items from Trader Joe's. Then, one day, they were out of something, so I bought it elsewhere, something as basic as, say, a tomato. It was then that I realized how lacking in taste Trader Joe's foods are. Since then, I have replaced almost all my food items with mainstream grocery store and specialty store ones. I am much happier with the taste and even the quality of some items, like the produce. Although, I still do buy some things there that I like that you can't find elsewhere, just not as often. I also don't like that it always seems to discontinue my favorites. Trader Joe's is less expensive, and, now, I know why. Trader Joe's products are also LOADED with salt and sugar to make up for the lack of flavor or, perhaps, in an attempt to give them some. This proves how true the saying is that you get what you pay for, which also means anything in its health food and supplement section as well as its spices are also going to be lacking, cheaper, but lacking. This store is fine. It is small but clean, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable enough. Aside from the inconvenient covid experience, shopping here can be good. Although, it really could keep up the inventory a bit better. I just have to say I truly wish that what they sell had more taste. But everyone is different, so I'll leave you all to decide for yourselves. This is just my humble opinion. read more

Stopped in to this Trader Joe's Saturday on my way to see a friend. I wanted to pick up some wine, cheese, snacks. etc I usually don't shop there (not a preference thing, just don't go there often) However, after this trip, I think I'm going to start. I was here yesterday after getting off work (literally the worst time to go grocery shopping) and tried to find a spot to park during all the chaos. During this time, there was a tjs employee who was literally guiding me and telling me where to park as she was collecting carts. I didn't think much of it until I got to the front of the store and she offered me a cart. I was almost done with my shopping but was looking for some face wash (that was out of stock) and the same girl came up to me and asked me if I needed any help!! I usually go to the NP tjs and love everyone there but was so impressed by "Mika" (I believe her name was) that I just had to say something! Let me just say, I FREAKIN LOVE TRADER JOE'S!!! I have been grocery shopping at TJs for a number of years, probably since I lived in Santa Barbara & attended UCSB. Yes, that long ago! I had no idea what they were, but once I discovered the stores, I was hooked! What makes me love them so much is they have everything you could really need... Whole foods, meats, cheeses, a huge wine & beer selection, prepackaged meals, great desserts/sweets, breads, yummy junk food, health foods, vitamins, spices, seasonings, sauces, toiletries, pet food, a huge nut selection, plant based options for Vegans & WFPB people such as myself. I love them even more after transitioning to a WFPB/Vegan life style. They have a number of options available & it is not expensive. There are so many great things to purchase & they are always developing new items. Recently I found vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon rolls, vegan pesto, Kung Pao cauliflower bites, young jack fruit in brine, a really great low fat pasta sauce, red lentil pasta, sprouted wheat bagels, dark cocao powder, vegan marshmallows & a number of other things I'm sure I forgot. They also have the cleanest & most organized stores. They are super friendly & encourage interaction with customers. I've NEVERRRRRR seen an unhappy employee at TJ's! EVERYTHING ABOUT TJ'S IS WONDERFUL! I don't think I can think of a bad thing to say or ever had a negative experience, in the multiple locations I've visited all over California in the last 12-15 years! If you're 1 of a million people who has not shopped here, YOU NEED TO GO!!! You have no excuse & before you go research what TJ items are the most popular & buy them & try them out. He literally called around to 4 stores (not Trader Joe's ) to find this product for me . I just couldn't believe his kindness. I love my local Trader Joe's, and I believe it loves me. After all, I go all the time and spends wads of dough. I single-handedly keep it open, well, most probably. Overall, it's a great experience and one of the best locations I've shopped at. Knowledgeable, always someone near to ask, hot samples, well-stocked, lines are kept below 3 people, very friendly cashiers, and very responsible and nice management. Lastly, free parking. Unlike most of the locations where you take your life into your own hands, the parking lot is shared but affords plenty of spaces. Very nice TJ's near BJ's Brewhouse in Westlake. Most Trader Joe's are nice, but this one is especially clean, modern, and well laid out. Parking can get a bit tight due to the popularity of this strip mall, but patience always pays off. I love Trader Joe's!. This is a great location right on Thousand Oaks Blvd with plenty of parking. The products are just freaking fabulous! Over time we have tried about any and everything they have and its all been more or less top notch! Newest obsession, the smores ice cream sandwiches, yuuum! Another highlight would be the samples, they really go all out, its been tacos with salsa and guac, pulled pork sammies with chips and last weekend stuffed peppers and microgreens. Plates, for free!!! How can you not give them 5 stars?!! Prices are more than fair, in fact the cheapest you will find at any healthier or organic chain.
