I came to this local business on7/10/24. The door was open and no one inside for about 10 min. Could have left the place with tons of stuff no one would have known. A young girl finally appeared. I asked about getting tropical flowers for my Vow renewal on the 20th. Was told it should not be a problem for what I wanted and she would contact her manager about what I wanted and I would get a call the next day. No call came so I stopped back in and was told that they would be able to do it that the manager was double checking with supplier. Friday at 4 get the call that they can not do it. I'm giving them a single star because I can't give them none. I ordered a 'Pet Friendly' bouquet for my daughters thirtieth birthday, she has both a cat & dog in her home. When I picked it up I noticed a flower and asked what it was, the young lady said, "that's a chrysanthemum". I said "isn't that toxic to cats?", she responded "no, the artist knew it was pet friendly and selected flowers specifically for that". I drove to my vets office from there and had to take out half the arrangement. At this point I was pressed for time and could not make the 45 min drive back to the shop. I'm not going to get too flowery (see what I did there? funny or not? It's a toss up) or verbose about this one. Just a quick take (if I can restrain myself) on how a beautifully designed vase of flowers during these pandemic times can have an even greater effect. We're all in a tough spot these days, celebrating life's events differently, adjusting to an up and down future, figuring out our next steps. In this context, when a birthday comes around, or an anniversary (we just had two in the same home), even honoring those events can seem like a challenge. Now, a lot of places can put together any old flower arrangement, and flowers are so pretty, it's generally hard to muck 'em up. But when a florist really puts a bit of themself into the mix, it can come across. And it can be... restorative. (look don't groan, I can kind of hear you. I swear I'm not all woo-woo all the time, it's just, this pandemic and...well, everything...some restoration is pretty freakin' necessary, no?) So, the first set of flowers we received from Grohe (sent from someone outside the home, for a birthday) was a lovely mix of yellows; healthy, robust roses and some mini-roses from a BFF, amidst a nice melange of greenery. It was so beautiful and the spacing in the arrangement, i.e. where the pops of green intermixed with the minis, was really excellent. After seeing this, one among us ordered another bouquet for an anniversary. The customer gave a very small bit of information, asking for purples and lavenders, and something that fit the very-respectable-not-yet-50-but-definitely-getting-there year mark. (okay, I know I'm going on, getting verbose, taking more time than I estimated, I'm actually running late now, I need to shower and get on the move, but I can't stop once I've started...IYKYK) The bouquet that arrived was literally one of the most beautiful arrangements I've ever seen. (ugh, here comes the flowery) It was a perfect range of hues, different greenery shooting off in artful directions, a balanced and evocative splay of purples, lavenders, dusty mauves and frosted greens. It just felt like the person who put it together...tried. As in, made an effort to really nail the request, and put something of themself in the endeavor. Such a simple concept, right? Now, I could be wrong. I could be projecting, wishing, or just needing someone to be out there in the world, doing a phenomenal job at something that ostensibly happens every day, all over the country. I'm really disappointed with the bouquet I had ordered for my mom. She's been really busy taking care of my father due to health reasons then I got covid so she had been going back and forth taking care of us and I wanted to do something nice. I had my wedding at Wedgewood Banquet Center in Rohnert Park and Grohe Florist is located right across the street (Double Tree Shopping Center). I thought Grohe did a beautiful job with the flowers and meeting all of our specifications. We made several changes throughout the process and all were handled in stride. The only thing I didn't like was that they were mentioning all these flower names but didn't have pictures to show of all the ones they were mentioning. I'm not a flower expert so I just had to say, "Sure, if they are pretty and they come in the color we want, go for it!" I didn't entirely know what to expect on the day of the wedding but I was REALLY pleased. I'm not sure how reasonably priced they are because our flowers were included in an all inclusive wedding package.
