Groome booked their 3am van to the max. I got on the first stop and by the last stop so many large people got on that the driver and other passengers looked at me ...the smallest person..to move to the ice cold back bench while the front passenger Sat Sat empty because the driver said we could not use it. I have called 4 times and never got a call back from John at logistics . An assistant manager just kept repeating their policy but said she had no.power to refund even half of that awful trip. I do not work for Groome nor should I have been expected to accommodate their inability to seat all passengers. I never had any issue when it was Eau Claire Airport shuttle. Got an auto response to my first review claiming they really value their customers...robot baloney. read more

My wife and I have had a bad experience with Groome Transportation, Daytona Beach, Florida. I am 80 years old. My wife is 79. Groome failed to pick us up at the agreed time and location for transportation to Orlando International Airport. When I called, the agent blamed me for the error. She also refused a refund. A short time later, a supervisor called, apologized, and refunded the charge for that trip. One week before our return trip, given our first experience, and given that the emailed confirmation listed the wrong drop-off place, I called the Daytona office to inquire where they planned to drop us off (very late at night). After a 20 minute hold, I was told it would be in Deltona. When I asked whether they could drop us off at our retirement community, instead, about ten minutes from the Deltona drop-off site, I was told that was out of their range. I cancelled the reservation. I was told I would be given a credit for the charge already made on my credit card. The credit must be used within one year. They would make no refund. I refused the credit. I asked whether I had any other options with regard to obtaining a refund. I was told there were no other options. If I refused the credit, I would lose the deposit. read more

I would not trust my transportaion with this company again. There was an issue with my original pickup location. When I called the office all they told me was they could not pick me up. Luckily the driver called me who had not talked to the office and showed some sign of intelligence and flexibility and offered to pick me up as close as he could to the original location. I would have given them more stars but they need to work on their customer service. Pros: They get you to the airport in a safe and timely manner. The price is reasonable for the distance I was going and they go every hour which is very convenient. The driver I had was nice, quiet and reserved, which was ok with me but if he was more friendly and welcoming he would most likely get more tips. He did go out of his way to put the luggage in van and take it out when we arrived at the airport. Cons: I made my reservation online and I got an email stating they would call and confirm, they never called-why say you will and then don't. Second, I was getting picked up at a hotel and I was waiting outside, I decided to go inside to get a drink from the water fountain (It was a hot day). I was gone for only 30 seconds and as I begin to walk outside, I see the Groome Van zooms by. It goes towards the back of hotel, I run after it and then it is gone. They knew I had a reservation and was being picked up there, they need to tell their drivers to wait at least 1-2 minutes. I called and they came back for me later, but didn't say sorry. The lady I spoke to said I was not there waiting and it was my fault. The lady said I need to be outside waiting, which I was, I just left for 30 seconds to get water! The driver needs to stop and at least go inside for 20 seconds because if its too hot or too cold outside, there is a possibility people might be waiting inside the hotel lobby. They never stated anywhere that you have to be outside (even though I was)! Groome needs to train their drivers to wait at least 1-3 minutes because it is difficult to signal a van that is zooming by. read more

Groome's is the worst shuttle service I have ever taken! The drivers are reckless and they charge a ridiculous amount. They are ALWAYS behind schedule. I typically wait 20 to 30 minutes for the shuttle. I was running late due to road construction and lane closures. I called the office and asked them to hold the shuttle 5 or 10 minutes for me. They advised that they would try. Why I arrived 10 minutes after my shuttle was expected to depart, they had already already left. I'm furious that of all the times I've waited for them, they couldn't wait 10 minutes for me. And why wouldn't they call me back to let me know the shuttle had already left so I could have turned around and started driving your the airport myself? Avoid Groome's at all costs!!!! read more

If there was an option to put 0 stars, I would gladly do so. I've used Groome a few times but the service was usually mild to poor and this time it was poor enough that I thought to review it. We scheduled for a 6:15am pickup time from Ft. Benning and were at our spot 20 minutes prior, but the driver didn't pick us up until 7:10. We're tough but standing in the cold for an hour and ten minutes is frustrating. The desk service we called about the late pickup was quite rude and got very defensive even though we politely asked what the problem was, although they did ensure that the shuttle went straight to Atlanta instead of stopping in Colombus. My main concern was the lack of professionalism from the driver and the receptionist, and I found it rude to be talked over as they defensively made up excuses for the issues. I'm pretty patient but it just got on my nerves. I think they could improve the overall customer service and the way they talk to customers, adhere to the schedule and be on time when they said they'll be, or develop some kind of notification system to alert passengers when they are a certain distance away. I'll give it to them though, they're probably the only shuttle service that knows their way around Ft. Benning and its many intricacies, so that's why we have to use them. read more

I have always had someone pick me up from the airport so I was kind of nervous having to take public transportation an hour in a half back. They have shuttles every half an hour and since my flight landed early I was able to catch the earlier Van because it wasn't full. So thank you for not making me wait out in the Georgia heat and humidity for half an hour. Pros: My driver from Boston was super friendly and offered us some of his snacks since one of the girls in the van was complaining about how hungry she was so bonus points for him and an extra tip! You get to meet a lot of people, some friendly, some not. Our driver was safe, reliable, and even got us back to Columbus a few minutes early. He also helped us with our luggage and put it all in the back. Cons: The van smelled, I'm not sure if it was the sweaty passengers I was sitting next to or the van, lol. I would def. recommend them. $36 for an hour in a half ride is awesome! I pay $36 for 20 minutes from Fairfax, VA to DC read more

I cant honestly say this is the first time I have ever written a review on or about any company. My husband and I were traveling to MN for medical treatment at the Mayo Clinic. When we arrived at our destination the driver would not pull up into the driveway at the guest house where we were staying. My husband uses a walking cane for a reason. The driveway was obviously covered in ice. He has difficulty navigating any distance at all and an icy driveway would have been impossible. Thank goodness the innkeeper came out to help. It breaks my heart to know he would have just left us there. My guess is that every driver hired by this company is not so unsympathetic to those with special needs. I wont risk it again. read more

I tried to use them once. I booked a ticket from Warner Robins to Macon. When I arrived they told me the shuttle was cancelled, but I could pick it up in Macon. I told them I just wanted a refund because my friend dropped me off, and I didn't have a way to get to Macon. They wouldn't give me a refund, but had me fill out a long form and promised to get back to me about the refund. I never heard anything from them. What scam artists. Plane broke down on day of travel. Had to wait a extra day to come home from Australia. Would miss prepaid shuttle Phoenix to Prescott, AZ. Notified Groome Shuttle as soon as off plane but they were not interested & refused any refund as I did not call by 11:59 the day before to cancel. They now had empty seats they could still fill. Since Groome transportation has taken over Dots, service has been terrible in the Daytona, Florida area. They no longer drop you off at your Terminal. They drop you off on the first level and it's your problem to get yourself and your luggage up to the 3rd floor . They claim it's because their vehicles exceed the weight limitations. Then why did you buy vehicles that exceed the weight requirements and charge us more to boot?!? They did this to us at Christmas and I not only had myself, but my elderly Mom who was in a wheelchair. I had to drag 3 suitcases and push mom in the wheelchair up to the 3rd level. They were completely unsympathetic and more or less said, It's your problem. It was pouring rain, the driver was late and he drove like a jerk running over the yellow lines and some people were in danger of missing their flights. Oh and did I say....they charge you more! I'm not done yet..We had another trip from hell with them the end of June. Going down we waited in the Van for about 20 minutes in sweltering heat and for some reason the driver kept both doors wide open, instead I'd closing so we wouldn't die of the heat. Again, they dumped us off on the first level with just a shrug and because the vehicle is overweight. So, I'm assuming that this is the norm now and we will no longer be brought to the terminal. On the way back to Daytona, had airport delays due to weather and there was only one shuttle left to take at midnight. The dispatcher warned us and said you have to be their promptly for midnight shuttle otherwise we would be left there. Ok, no problem. Get off the flight from hell, tear ass around to get our luggage and get down to the first floor with about 15 minutes to spare. We wait and wait some more for this shuttle and finally at 12:15 a.m., we call and dispatcher tells us that...he's caught in traffic (at midnight?) he'll be there in about 15 minutes. We wait and we wait some more. Another passenger calls dispatcher and he says, Oh he had to go to side B first and he's waiting for passengers (Really? We were warned we would get left behind if we were late!). Finally, at 12:55 a.m., he shows up with only 2 other passengers from side B. We are all fit to be tied and exhausted. He loads the luggage on and gets in the Van and he just sits there. Nothing said to us. Finally after a few minutes another passenger wanted to know why we were just sitting there. He said he's waiting for another passenger! What? If she wasn't there after over an hour of being late, doesn't common sense tell you she's not coming! It's just incompetence all the way around. We always had stellar service from DOTS. Caring and concerned that you got there on time and just all around very nice service. NOT WITH GROOME! They stink and they are only interested in the bottom line. It's ridiculous that we get dropped off on the first floor now and we get charged more for less service! Obviously, I'm not happy and hope you will get better service! Unfortunately, they seem to have a monopoly on this service. I can't find another shuttle service, only private cars! From now on, I just may drive down and store my car. Much less aggravation than dealing with this incompetent company! Used this shuttle service for about 2 years now for commuting to SkyHarbor. Unfortunately my latest experience has left me seeking other options. Waited for shuttle at designated spot, it never arrived. I called their service every 15 minutes to confirm it was on its way or late. Each representative gave me differing times of when it would arrive saying the previous one was wrong. After and hour twenty I called customer service who said the shuttle had left without me. The shuttle never arrived, and I was mislead by 4 differing company reps. read more

I would rate lower than 1 star if I could. I bought my "ticket" over a month in advance so I could have a ride to the Atlanta airport, which I needed to be at by 7:30 at the ABSOLUTE latest. My ticket time for Groome was for 5:00am, I arrived at 4:45 and checked in (I don't think I needed to because they didn't have to write down, or type anything showing I was there). Now me and my wife were waiting outside for the bus to arrive as were others. When it pulled up I was nice and let the other people board before us and when it was my turn I handed out bags to the driver to load and he told me that they were full for this trip. When he said this I peeked inside the bus and to my amazement I saw that the bus was only half full. So before they left I talked to the woman at the front desk and she told me that they had to pick people up in Lagrange on the way. That was okay, I told her I would hop on the next bus at 5:15 to which she told me they were short on drivers and the next bus would not leave until 6:00 which was NOT okay with me as I had to be at the airport in time to get through processing and security. During all of this she told me that "groome does not take reservations". So now I'm a little confused as to why I even needed to buy a ticket for the bus and why I couldn't get on and the woman call someone in lagrange and tell them they didn't take reservations. In the end I ended up driving myself to the airport and barely made my flight. Thanks for having the absolute worst service ever groome. read more

Up until this past week I would have given Groome Transportation five stars. The are on time, drivers safe and friendly. I have been using them several times a year for over 15 years to see relatives in Columbus GA. I live in Kansas City. On April 15 I flew into Atlanta and as usual caught the Groome Van to Columbus GA. Upon arrival I went inside and purchased my round trip ticket. The people at the desk were busy so on suggestion of the van driver I used their automated machine and bought a round trip ticket. I gave the driver the ticket from Atlanta and put the other ticket in my wallet. On April 20, when I was returning, I handed the van driver the ticket which was in my wallet and he came back and said the ticket had already been scanned. I know this was impossible because the ticket was in my pocket. I went to talk to the lady at the desk and she at first said the ticket was scanned the same day and asked it I was taken to Ft. Benning. I said no my father had picked me up. I again informed her the ticket had been in my wallet since the 15th. Then she said the ticket was used on the 16th. I again told this could not have happened because the ticket was in my wallet. She informed me the only way I could get to Atlanta was to purchase another ticket. I told her something was wrong with their scan system (the ticket had my name on them from the credit card I used) I had the ticket, did not use it and did not appreciate being called a lair. She said she did not call me a lair. I explained by not believing me she was calling me a lair. I have to say a very nice GI offered to buy the ticket for me. That was not the point, I had already paid for the ticket. So I paid for it again. She said her manager would call me that afternoon. No call. I called them on the 21st and left my name and number and again was told the manager would call me. No call. I called again today, put on hold, then transferred to a phone, left message. I got a call back from Jeff...I explained what went on and he said all he has to go on was what the scanner said but he would have his IT people look into it. I know the ticket, with my name on it, was in my pocket and was not scanned. I will be renting a car from now on as I no longer trust their system or the people working in their office. I feel I have been called a lair and had 36 dollars stolen from me. No it is not really the money it is the point the ticket was in my wallet and not used. read more

Taking a Groome shuttle from Phoenix Airport to Prescott, we had one additional stop. This "passenger " was a homeless man who the owner of Groome agreed to pick up, free of charge, while we all paid good money for our ride. Well, he stank liked he hadn't bathed in a year and we were pretty sure he was infested with lice and other possible diseases. There was a nun who was dumping him off. Thankfully the driver refused to take this man and kicked him off. Why is Groome transporting these people? For free? Leave them in Phoenix so we don't have to deal with them in Prescott. Wonder if Groome even disinfects the Vans after transporting these people. Recommend Fly U Shuttle as an alternative. read more

Got lied to by a groome associate and the supervisor at the Athens Ga area. They cost me alot of money. Now I have to drive to the Airport and leave my car and find a way to pick it up because I am driving a different car back from Fl. The least they could have done was offer to take me to pick up my car free of charge. I could not cancel my flight, I had already paid to have my dogs kenneled, and they could do nothing to help me but say I am sorry. The Athens supervisor left me a message and would not answer when I called her back around 3:00and several other times after that. I am very disappointed. Things are different these days when I was drowning up people made things right now they just say I am sorry and brush you off. They do not care about the customer any more. Giving false formation to someone and not accepting responsibility for it does not make a good business. I spent over a thousand dollars on this trip it took me 6 months to save for it and groome almost caused me to lose it all and so I had to spend more money to fix their mistake. read more

Awful. Will be taking Lyft this next trip. I booked a bus because Groome is the only bus option to get onto Ft Benning (husband is military) I was planning to make a weekend visit however plans changed and I had to visit a different weekend so I called to cancel the bus to reschedule and they said "sorry no same day cancellations" ??? I explained I'm calling to cancel my plans for the next weekend and that I needed to reschedule the bus ticket only to find out they had scheduled for me to be picked up THAT DAY at 5pm and I called at 7PM!? What? The lady said I needed to call back when a manager was in to receive a refund. Okay, no problem, when do I call? I called six separate times each time there was no manager. Call back again at this time... Seventh times the charm! I got a manager and was told to send a letter. Sent a letter with a highlighted receipt showing the problem. Waited a month. No response. Called a few more times, got a manager...my letter was reviewed but no decision had been reached a higher level "manager" would review it. Never received a response or refund. Planning a trip and sticking with Lyft. Always a good experience with them! read more

I have used Groome to and from Atlanta with no issues. I have never really experienced any issues. I was truly hoping that would carry over for my local charter needs. NO SUCH LUCK. I emailed the office in March to get an estimate for a local charter. I quickly received an email back that said they would be in touch the following Monday with information concerning my charter needs. I did not get a return email, AND my two subsequent emails and phone calls were unreturned, as well. I am getting married in Columbus this weekend and they finally respond with "Sorry we unable to assist with your charter needs for April 21". In every email I sent, I requested a referral if they were unable to assist. No further information was given. Disappointed, to say the least....as they are leaving me high and dry. I have always been happy with them in an Atlanta to Columbus capacity, but they really should do something about the level (and lack there) of customer service. read more

I've only had to use this service twice myself but every time I have family or friends visiting, I always recommend that they use Groome to get a little closer to my house so I have an easier trip to pick them up and drop them off when it's time to go! read more

Unfortunately Groome is the only shuttle service in the area. Positives is it is reliable and convenient. Negatives are customer service and cost. They make their pricing at either $39 or $41 depending on where you are going to in Columbus/ Fort Benning. The catch is if you pay cash they do not provide change, including if you pay at the office, it is sleezy / unethical way to pocket an extra $1, $4, or $9 depending on what type of bills you have. My girlfriend recently took the Groome Shuttle from the Atlanta airport and she did not have cash so while standing in line she tried to go on the website, however the website was not working and she was unable to buy the ticket, so instead of allowing her to pay at the office when they arrived the driver made her run into the airport to use an ATM before he would let her on. Frustrating her, and everyone else trying to take the shuttle. With Groome's price increases it is cheaper to just drive to the airport and pay for parking then it is to use this service. It will be a good day when Groome gets competition so that they are either forced to improve or go out of business. read more

Groome transportation was very disappointing. On my ride from the airport to my location it took a very very long. Also the bus driver would not turn down the air conditioner even as I asked several times and was shivering. I should have not use them again. However I thought I would give them a second chance I booked a return trip to the airport. That should've been there at 7 o'clock they were not. I called the dispatcher who assured me a bus was on the way and will be there very soon. No bus. Again I called the assured me the bus was on the way. Again no bus. I called they told me that my booking was incorrect and that there would be no bus and that they had sent me an email. They did not send emails on either trip although I called and asked several times for a confirmation email. Do not use this service it is a nightmare it cost me several hundred dollars in a different airplane ticket as I missed my flight. read more

Flights are so much cheaper out of ATL, so I always fly out of ATL, and now with Groome Transportation, getting to the airport is one less thing I have to worry about. But recently, my flight home from Ft. Lauderdale into ATL was canceled!!! Thankfully I booked another one 2 hours later, then immediately called Groome Transportation to see if they could still take me and the 6 others in my party home to Birmingham. They said they could! They have vans coming and going every hour and a half, so it was easy to re-book. The drivers and the people in the Groome office were so nice and courteous, even when I was panicking about getting home! Groome Transportation is the only way to go! Bad experience. Driver kept running off of the road onto the shoulder. When I asked him if he was okay to drive he said yes however continued to run off of the road onto the shoulder. Left stranded for 2 hours at the airport waiting for a shuttle because I was never told that they do not pick up at the international terminal. When I called to inquire where the shuttle was they said that they pick up at the international terminal. After the designated time for the shuttle to arrive came and went, I phoned back and was then informed that they do not pick up at the international terminal. This after waiting for over one and a half hours. Only good part about the service was the drive back after I managed to get on board a shuttle. read more

They are consistently late, My most recent pickup was over 30 minutes late. Needless to say, I will not use them again. Very unfortunate this is the only shuttle available to get from Fort Benning to ATL airport. They FORGOT about my reservation, picked me up an hour late after I had to call 4 times to figure out what the problem was or if I'd need to make other arrangements/change my flight. Terrible follow through. The first driver I had was very nice (the one that took me to their HQ to catch the 'next' shuttle to ATL), but that is the only positive experience I had with this company. Terrible business practices, terrible follow through, terrible organization, terrible communication. I would have expected MUCH more from a company that comes recommended by the Army base, but when it's the only one available I guess there's a lot more leniency for terrible services. read more

Horrible in almost every aspect. I am incredibly surprised by all of the positive reviews here, as it seems suspicious. Several of the employees (especially one particular black woman) taking calls were very rude and completely lacked customer service skills. My bus was 45 minutes late, and the driver did not even have a reservation for me (probably not his fault). He was friendly and allowed me to ride anyways. I tipped for that and hope it all goes to him. I had called twice regarding my reservation and was assured that I had a spot on the bus from the destination I needed. Clearly the desk employees don't know how to use their computers in addition to the aforementioned poor customer service. I am hoping and praying that Groome does not make me miss my flight, but at this point, it seems more than likely that I will. I will not be using their service ever again and will advise everyone I know that if you leave your transportation plans to Groome, you might be better off walking. read more

I made a reservation online weeks prior to my trip to Fort Benning for family day. They picked me up at 10pm after my flight and dropped me off 30 minutes away from the location i previously requested. I had to call a cab so i asked for a refund and was told that there was no way i could get one because they did pick me up from the airport, even though i was dropped off in an unfamiliar area. The staff was also very rude and was not helpful to try and help me get to my destination. They also refused to give me a manager or corporate number to discuss what had happened. read more

I don't understand why Groome is charging $76 round trip from Columbus to the Atlanta airport..... when gas prices are half price now. It only cost us $10 when we drove the same route ourselves. I spoke to the manager of Groome and she gave me excuses as to why it was okay to charge $66 more than it would cost someone else to drive that route. So, I doubt they will change their prices any time soon. Also, it takes longer to drive that route because they have to stop in LaGrange. Please don't waste your money or your time using this service. What a major rip off! I guess they leave me with no choice but to go to the BBB. read more
