Horrible. Wish I could give 0/10. I reserved a shuttle to pick me up from Ft Benning at 4:45 to get to the ATL airport by 7. After waiting outside for 15 mins I started calling to make sure the shuttle was still coming, and was on hold for ~half an hour. When I finally got ahold of someone, she told me the driver would be there ASAP but she couldn't give me an ETA. She also told me the shuttle wouldn't be taking me straight to the airport, it would make a stop in Columbus (which the website failed to mention when I made the reservation). The only option I was left with was to order a cab, which cost me hundreds of dollars. The hotel receptionist was kind enough to contact Groome and ask for them to refund me. Turns out they only issued me a travel credit, as if I would ever consider using Groome again. So in the end I paid $59 (including tip!!) for a shuttle that never picked me up since it was running an hour late with no arrival in sight. read more

Groomes picked us up in Chattanooga for an ATL international flight and dropped us there. When we flew back a week later they did not bother to communicate that pick up for ATL international was on the domestic side. We called them, they knew we were at the airport and on our way, once we found out from an airport employee - NOT groomes. They left anyway and we could see the pulling out as the shuttle bus got us there 5-10 mins late. I will never ever use Groomes again, to any airport if this is the communication and service they give customers!!! read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Absolute crap company. Been forced to use them a handful of times and they have screwed up my reservations and made me miss shuttles literally more often than they've gotten it right. Just today I called and booked a reservation for 3:15. Immediately I got a confirmation email for 3:15 shuttle. When I arrive they state I no-showed for my 2:15 shuttle??? I show them the confirmation and texts all stating 3:15 but the shuttle was already fully booked and so now I'm screwed out of a seat because of their crap systems. How trash of systems do you have that you can put me down for 3:15, and receive an automated email confirming it, but it instead schedules me for 2:15 with no notice???? None of this makes any sense that's how absolute trash this company is read more

I was not told that there would be a transfer at Camp Verde. We were transported in a rickety van from Sedona to the airport. The van had warning lights lit up like a Christmas Tree. The dispatcher did not inform us when we paid that we would need to stop at Camp Verde. We would have gone on a private transfer because we ended up waiting 45 minutes at a Chevron station. The staff literally talked to themselves and did not inform us of why we were stopped. The communication with these people is horrible. There is also safety issues with these vans. read more

I should've known that it was too good to be true when a shuttle from Tuscaloosa to the Birmingham airport was only $39. Turns out, I was right! Groome is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever used, and I will not be recommending them to anyone or riding with them again. Our driver was excellent and got us to the airport in time, but we didn't actually go right to the airport because the aide/coordinator from Groome that was on the bus (but not driving it) decided it was a good idea to go to Leeds, which is 20 mins away from the airport, first to drop 1 person off. The remaining 15 of us on the bus were all going to the Birmingham airport. So, we completely missed our targeted drop-off time and ended up at the airport almost 40 minutes later due to the 20 min (each way) detour to Leeds. They did agree to refund me the $39, which I appreciate, but that's the bare minimum. They can't pay me back for missing a flight. The whole reason I scheduled this ride was so that I would get to the airport in enough time to make an earlier flight, and I missed that flight and almost missed my original flight. When I gently confronted the aide/coordinator to ask why we went to Leeds and if there was any chance we'd make it back to the airport by the desired time, he was rude, dismissive, and demeaning. Do not waste your time with Groome. And Groome, if you're reading this, fire the male aide/coordinator on the 11/23 bus from Tuscaloosa to the Birmingham airport that was supposed to drop us off there at 2:45pm. I have not interacted with such a rude customer service representative in a long time. (I will say, our driver, a woman, was very professional and a very safe driver.) If you'd like to be late and have no input on/awareness of your altered schedule, then go with Groome. If not, stay far away! read more

Great reliable service that you can depend on when you are looking to travel from Atlanta airport to Columbus Georgia area. I have used this service twice and was amazed at how affordable the price was. For a one way ticket to the Columbus area they charge $32.00 for a two hour ride. Pretty cheap considering I pay $30 for a 10 minute taxi ride from SFO to Daly City. Another great thing about Groom Transportation is that no reservations are required. They bring you back to their main location in Columbus were you can pay cash or credit for your ride. Although they say they leave every 1/2 hour - both times I've used the service I've left in within 10 minutes. They usually have a couple of their vans there already and just leave as they fill up which is pretty quick. As of February 1, 2016, they are going to an all-reservation system. I asked the woman working the desk what would happen if the plane is late, causing me to miss my assigned shuttle. She said I would have to wait for the next van that had an opening. When I pointed out that I could be standing in the heat, rain, cold for hours waiting for an open seat, she replied, "I guess so". Terrible business model. Terrible answer to a customer's concerns. I'll either fly out of Columbus or drive myself in the future. read more

Groome Transportation offers friendly, reliable service between the Atlanta airport and Columbus. For an additional $10, you can get door to door service. The vans are in good condition and pretty comfortable, even when full. It's easy to locate the pick-up location at the airport and the wait time isn't that long, even late at night. I'm not sure what the tipping policy is, or even if there is one. No need to worry about getting a ticket ahead of time. Just hop in the van and you'll pay for the ticket and purchase the return ticket at the main office in Columbus. read more

I've used Groom several times from LaGrange to ATL. I give them 4 stars just because they have been late on pick up a couple of times...but calling dispatch they always can give a revised pick up time and it's not been more than 10-15 minutes off. In today's world you need to allow lots of time to catch your flight anyway. Otherwise it cost effective for solo travelers on trips longer than a week, and the drivers are courteous and helpful. read more

Their website let me book a 6 a.m. shuttle out of Rochester, Minnesota that did not exist. Afterwards I was told by a representative that I should have called to make the reservation instead. We ended up having to drive to the Minneapolis airport and we missed our flight. I have asked to be reimbursed for the cost of the shuttle and the cost of parking at the airport and have not received a response. Terrible website and terrible customer service. read more

second bad experience w/ Groome so i had to write this review....we booked my friend on the 3:55 shuttle pickup from LaGrange on August 14 2018. Called three times asking where it was. The third time the operator told me it wasn't her job to know where the driver was and if he was actually going to pick up my friend. I told her i had a toddler with us and it had been over thirty minutes. She was rude and said "it wasn't her job to have answers" over and over....finally the 4:25 driver arrived and our friend was able to get on the shuttle. Her original driver apparently forgot to stop and get her. HORRENDOUS customer service. Operator would not offer a refund and supervisor was unavailable. read more

They left us waiting at the airport. I got there at the exact time we were supposed to be there and watched the driver take off. After a grueling cross country FLT with several stops she LEFT! A total Buzz Kill. It will be a long time before I use them again. Please heed this review!!! Let me just start by saying, my arrival to the airport using Groome transportation was less than smooth, as it was a full hour later than scheduled (despite using their recommended time). But hey, Atlanta traffic, what do you expect, right? So I thought, I'll just book an hour earlier next time just in case. I fully intended to not let that color my entire Groome experience, but as I am writing this review I sit, stranded for the next 3hrs after Groome changed my return reservation time without my knowledge/ consent. Upon our arrival, I called the dispatcher (Jeremy) regarding the matter who argued with me that we had discussed this pick up time by phone, and I agreed to it. I knew for sure that I had not. I would not have arranged/ agreed to a pick up a full 3 hrs after my flight landed especially considering the drive is less than 2 hrs. When I called back and advised that I was able to locate my original reservation with the correct time only then did the rep (Jeremy) ask whom I had spoken to for my original reservation (Marshall). He then told me that it appeared that my reservation had been changed without them notifying me. He advised that I could TRY to catch the correct van, but if it was full I would have to wait. Needless to say, it was full, and I am now here at the airport waiting 3hrs for a shuttle that was intended to make my travel experience easier/ better... Long story short, this experience has been terrible... Don't do it. Please just drive if you're able. read more

Shuttle was late picking us up and then we were told the could not turn in A/C until we got out of the canyon because the shuttle would overheat.. Its 98 and no a/c.. Also when we go up hills a/c must be turned off so shuttle doesn't overheat.. Take another shuttle to Prescott Valley or you will be wet and smelly by the time you reach your destination.! read more

I arrived first to check in so I could get a good seat to accommadate my height and disability. ( back and knee damage,) Priory to anyone being seated, I asked the driver "which seats offered the most leg room" .. He stated " all by the seats have the same amount of leg room" Clearly they Do Not. This was my first time (and last time using this awfully cramped and inconsiderate service) It seamed like we did not have permission to load until the driver had all laggage packed, then the next thing I knew a couple of (short ) passengers grabbed the front row seats. I found myself stuck in the second row in extreme excruciating pain with tears streaming down my face. Bottom line this company needs to train their employee's about the Americans with Disability Act , and to be willing to do a few simple things to address people with limited range of motion or other challenge. read more

I tried to book groome transpotation from Atlanta Ga to Columbus, Ga. I had my 5 year old granddaughter with me, once I got a customer service representative on the line I was told my grand daughter needed a car seat. I asked if they provide the service being a full service transportation company. I was told that I could go back into the airport and ask at the lost and find to see if they had a car seat I could purchase. To say the least I was outdone. If this is a full service company why should I look for a car seat it should have been provided by them. Then I was told to hold on for a minute. The next thing I know I was talking to a supervisor who asked how could they help me, I explained I was talking to a CSR and they put me on hold. She stated the same thing the CSR had said. I told her that I was informed by the person who put me on hold and not sure why she was asked to repeat the same thing I was previously told. I apologized for the CSR putting her on the line and that I would rent a car to go where I needed to go. I think if a company provides a service it should be full service and I shouldn't have to pay additional expenses for them to provide this service. I will never use them again. read more

(COLUMBUS LOCATION) The only reason there is ONE star is bc you have to, in order to create a review. I would NOT recommend this transportation. I and two others were looked dead in the face and told we could not board a shuttle. There are about 10 seats and only 2 were taken. (So, obviously, he had enough room.) Let me add that I WAS ON TIME. 10:15PM is the shuttle I paid for and 10:15PM is when I was waiting. Left me two hours away from home, AFTER payment had already been made. I will not recommend this to anyone who asks me in the future. And I don't recommend it to the one reading this. I booked a reservation for my student leaving the University of Alabama for winter break. She was supposed to be picked up at the Presidential Village dorm at 5:10 am on December 14. When the bus did not show up, I called the dispatcher who said that the bus would arrive shortly, but did not know where it was or why it was late. The bus finally showed up at 5:34 am, and then began slowly loading students. Knowing that there were two stops ahead before the bus went to airport, my student asked the bus driver what time he expected to arrive at the Birmingham airport. He said that he did not know. My student was worried about missing the flight, so she had to drive herself to the airport in her own car instead and we had to pay for airport parking for the entire winter break. It took two emails and two phone calls to get a refund, and I did not get an apology. I would not trust this company again. read more

Somebody got on before 1st pu and got front seat. Driver says do it when booking! Ha! The AC is faulty, blasts full on or not at all, no medium. This van stinks of rotten food AND pesticide. My friend lives in Columbus, and every time I fly down to visit her I book a Groome shuttle in advance! I fly into Atlanta, and the fact that the shuttles run so often is extremely helpful! I book a reservation in advance, but I like the fact that even if I did not do that, if there was space available they will still take you. The drivers are extremely safe and quite personable! I have used Groome about 4 times now, and will never use another service. I sometimes like to rent a car, but if it is too expensive, paying for a Groome shuttle is both cheaper and much more convenient to get to Columbus (especially after a long flight)! read more

For all the reviews saying they are never on time, I wish that was the case tonight! Walked up to the boarding area a few minutes before departure to see the bus pulling off. Due to have NO communication from the service/driver, we had no idea which bus to look for as there were at least 4 parked in the area. As we are rushing to ask the drivers where our bus was, we see ours leaving and no one would radio/call and ask them to stop. I called customer service who answers (also realized it was 1 min after the scheduled departure time), and was very apologetic. She put me on hold to see what options there were AND NEVER CAME BACK. I waited on hold for 1 hour before she hung up. I called from different numbers and could get NO ONE to answer. How do you offer "great" customer service when you answer no phones calls and no one can assist 2 paid customers who should have no been left stranded at the airport. I will continue to reach out to get a refund, or will request my credit card company to credit this ridiculous charge back. read more

1st Timer and LOVED IT! Decided to take a day trip to Atlanta for a hair appointment and spa day. Made reservations online for Groome, a car in Atlanta and of course my stylist. Arrived at Groome at 6:20 AM for my 6:45 reservation, gave my name and they checked me in. Only took about 15 seconds. Got on the shuttle and we're off at 6:45 SHARP. After taking the on-ramp to 185N the shuttle makes a noise which sounded like a bump, the driver pulls over and radios for another shuttle; transmission problems. Another shuttle arrives in less than 15 minutes and we're off. Luckily for me, I didn't have a flight and I had planned for delays in making all my reservations. Apparently others didn't and they were not happy. One woman voiced her dissatisfaction, but not to the driver...LOL Nevertheless, we were off and made it to Atlanta in one piece. My return reservation was set for 6:45 PM, but I was at the p/u spot early. I asked the driver if he had room, could I take that shuttle back. He was very friendly and accommodating and already knew it wasn't full. He took my info and I boarded and again, we were off. The driver (for the trip to Atlanta) was cautious and took his time. The return driver was no joke! He was on a mission and he obviously accomplished it by getting us back to Columbus early, which I thoroughly appreciated, cause I was pooped! read more

I was asking about their hours that they will take you to the airport due to not being able to book online, since I got message saying my time was unavailable. Friday April 12th around 2am my luggage was stolen from the Groome office and the thief was caught on camera deliberately taking my luggage. It's now going on almost 2 weeks since my luggage was stolen and Groome hasn't done anything to compensate me what so ever. Initially when my luggage was taken the manger Tom blamed me for not getting off the shuttle van to attend to my luggage. But why would I when that wasnt my stop and I wasnt asked to by the driver. Josh the driver asked some guys loitering around was my luggage his and the guy said yes and took off with it. I was told Justin the operations manager would contact me at 9:30am when he came in. Justin never contacted me. I called him and he said he couldn't offer me any help but would look at the video to see what happened. I asked who could help me because after all I was thousands of miles from home and left with nothing but my purse and the clothes on my back. Justin said his district manager Jeff is who could authorize any compensation for my stolen luggage due to Groomes neglect driver Josh. Justin refused to provide Jeff's contact information to me and said he would have him call me. After more hours of getting the run around from Groome's employees I got a ride to the Columbus police department to file a police report. Then I didn't want to leave Columbus without documentation/incident report from Groome. I went to the Groome office and was told Justin would return from lunch in 15 mins. I asked the associated how long is his lunch because I gave been told that he was out to lunch the last 2 hours I called to speak with him. In the meantime I asked Malcolm the on duty manager for a corporate contact, he would leave and I could hear him on the phone asking someone permission to provide me the information I was requesting. Malcolm never came back and provided me with anything. After waiting 45 minutes Justin finally shows up and he seemed very annoyed and eventually ignored my questions. Shortly after Jeff shows up defending the behavior of the driver and Groome's normal way of doing things. I wanted to know how Groome was going to help me. At that time I had been in my same clothes fior 24hrs; I traveled from Los Angeles to Atlanta where I took the Groome shuttle to Columbus. I had to show up to my nephews graduation in my travel clothes and miss out on my time with him at the police station and spending hours at the Groome office. Jeff ended our conversation with the promise Justin would follow up with me daily, would he never did. He also told me to save my receipts for any purchases I've made. Jeff stated after looking into the video and investigation he would provide all that was lost. I was confused and put off, everything was documented in their surveillance video. Emotionally drained and my family was waiting on me to travel back to Atlanta I left because it was clear Groome wasn't going to provide me immediate help. I have written a detailed complaint to Groome's corporate office on their website over a week and a half ago. NO RESPONSE! I have emailed Justin an itemized accounting of all that was stolen and monies spent to recover items during my travel. Justin acknowledged receipt of the email and copied me on the forwarded email to Jeff. A week later NOTHING! NO, CALL, NO EMAIL AND NO CHECK! It is evident that I was targeted by the Gromes driver & other employees. They was fully aware of person who stole my luggage, when they took it and the car they was driving. The bus driver kept me distracted the entire trip and weeks later no one has made any effort to resolve the issue. I would never use this shuttle company that condones stealing from their customers, treating them with complete carelessness and a very bottom level of tact and professionalism. read more

I would give Groome Transportation 0 stars if that was an option. Be forewarned, this company is inept and unethical. My daughters were returning to Auburn, having landed in Atlanta an hour late. They missed their scheduled return bus due to that flight delay (which is certainly outside of Groome's control). But Groome was unable to re-book my daughters on any other bus for the entire day. They simply asked my daughters to wait at the airport for space available. After waiting for hours, seeing multiple buses come and go with no space available, and no indication of an opportunity to get on a subsequent bus, they called Uber. I expect transportation companies to be able to handle these situations as they are common. The airlines do it, Greyhound does it, even Amtrak does it. Why can't Groome? Because they are inept. And, here's the unethical part. Groome failed to provide a refund indicating their policy against same-day or post-trip refunds....even though they failed to provide the transportation for which they were paid. On top of it all, they were rude and asked me to call back later to talk to a manager as apparently no manager was on duty....even though this was probably their busiest day of the year. What a load of crap! Stay away from Groome. Use Uber....for a group of 3-4 kids, it's even cheaper. read more

I would like to start this off by saying the guys at corporate were great, this review applies specifically to this location. Long story short, I was unable to take my service animal and my pet along with me even after calling ahead days before to ensure that this would be kosher. The manager was one of those guys that still seems to be seeking revenge on those that wronged him in high school and essentially told me I was SOL and that he wasn't going to help me at all. I called an Uber, paid $29 more, and got there in 30 minutes less than expected. From now on I'll be catching an Uber, and I'd give the same advice to you. read more

I have used this service several times over our 3 years here in Columbus, Ga. I have never had a bad or even mediocre experience. The station is spacious and clean with more than adequate bathroom space. They have recently upgraded fleet of transport vehicles which provide mich more room than the previous vans did. The drivers are always sharp, kind and courteous as well as prompt. The other day my wife was headed to ATL and when she arrived at station there was a tornado warning and they took good care of her and didn't leave until the all clear along the whole route was announced. Perhaps they sometimes drive a bit too fast, but all in all I am a very satisfied and return customer! read more
