I took my Pomeranian in for a bath and cut. She came out looking like a completely different dog. The literally shaved her to the skin. If that's what they thought they needed to do, I'd have expected a phone call before. I would never have given permission for them to shave her. They even shaved her tail. UNACCEPTABLE. I called Fran the owner today. I told her what happened. Her first response was "So, was it a misunderstanding?" How does "My dogs need a bath" get misunderstood to mean "Remove the defining characteristics of this Breed, and oh; injure them in the process?" Then she tells me my dog was not injured, had received no wounds I am a nurse. I am certified in Advanced Wound Care. I have received Professional recognition for my wound care skills. I did my time in the military as a Medic. In a war zone. I know a wound when I see one. No wonder the employees do not take responsibility for their actions, they lack a role model. read more

TERRIBLE. I took my 6 pound toy poodle to get groomed at this place. We went to pick her up she was shaved uneven and looked terrible. Worst ever! For the shave, not even a groom, she charged me $75.00 for a six pound little poodle! I called the owner and told her my dog looked terrible and uneven, she said come back to the shop and I will give you $10.00 back and that she would give me a free grooming note for my tiny poodle next time. I sent someone to get the $10.00 and a note for the free grooming since I was so unhappy. We live 2 minutes from the place, when we got there she was locked up and gone! I really had high hopes for Grooming Studio and have come here a few times before writing my review, so I feel really let down. First of all, their customer service is AWFUL. I was waiting by the door to speak with someone and the owner (blonde European woman) was chatting away with someone for a solid five minutes. Finally, she tells a groomer "I think there's someone waiting, can you go check?" DEAR, YOU SAW ME WAITING AND DIDN'T GIVE A CRAP AT ALL. Secondly, their work is not consistent. They barely cut any hair off my pup (it just looks like they brushed his hair). And then when they do cut his hair shorter, it's very very patchy. Because my dog is so anxious, I always ask for the first appointment and a day that isn't too booked because he needs to get in and out (he has lots of anxiety about being in a kennel). Of course, he's always waiting a good amount of time in the kennel by the time I pick him up. Whenever I ask a question I just get the runaround from the employees or owner. I feel that they don't care about the dogs and they don't care about the dog parents either. They just want to overbook and make money without personability or customer service. My Bichon "Zoe" has been going to Fran at The Grooming Studio for almost ten years. I need to qualify that Zoe lives a very charmed life and we're basically inseparable. I'm extremely over protective and she's rarely out of my sight (you probably get the point that I'm a little crazy). When it comes to The Grooming Studio I completely trust them, Fran and all the ladies are fantastic. Many groomers don't want to work on bichon's because they require a lot work. Fran's attentional to perfection is obvious every time she grooms Zoe. One of the terrific things Fran does is use unique bows. Besides having all the color combinations of bows you can imagine, she even has bows for seasonal times of the year. Zoe has always been ready when promised, and she even enjoys going to get groomed. I take my Australian shepherd here twice a month ..love the treatment he gets..he's been groomed by many different groomers and this is the best I have ever seen my dog..his sent last a while and he stays clean with the oil treatment they offer..and he's a ranch dog so him staying clean is a plus ..with the oil treatment I just give him a wipe down be fore we go home from working on the ranch and he's back to clean ..I love Fran and her care for animals..it's amazing place. read more

I have been taking my two dogs here for a while now. I have to say they look great after but they are so rude to us and our dogs. I have a rescue dog who has bitten people before and the owner snatches the leash from my hand and with such rudeness goes "this one bites, you have to muzzle him" to her assistant. My dogs are TERRIFIED of going they get such bad anxiety. We since have taken them somewhere else and they have been fine. Sad because they do look great afterwards. read more

Fran is a professional -- just look at the walls in the shop with Champion Standard Poodles. We have show dogs, and have brought them a great distance to have her and staff get the job done correctly. I see bad reviews from folks --- probably who brought their dogs in horrible condition and expect a miracle for $ 50. Stick with the pros at Grooming Studio, stay away from amateurs such as Petco. However, keep up your dog at home --- just like kids, the responsibility is with the owner. Dogs with hair take alot of work, take some responsibility for your pets, it cannot be cured by a simple grooming shop visit. I have seen dogs in horrible condition being dropped off by Bentley owners --- get with it HUMANS !! (P.S.- she has been in business for over 20 years , and I have seen satisfied regulars who have come in for all those years with numerous dogs. if you saw the condition that very wealthy people bring in their dogs -- if they were humans, they would be calling Child Services.
