Wow! What can I say! Every time I've come here I have had a great experience. The ladies who work there are so kind and patient. I took my fur baby this morning to get her nails trimmed and completely forgot that it was cash only. I told the kind woman behind the counter I would be right back as I had forgotten. She then tells me that she can take my little one to start the process of nail trimming while I'm at the bank and not to worry. By the time I got back my fur baby was already done! The kind lady brought her from the back and she was so happy and smiley! Oh my goodness so I tried this new place. This groomer was great. She listened to what I like. We like our dog with his hair more bushy on top. She listened and did a great job. Her prices are very reasonable. I'm glad I found this place because we had another dog rumor. And the husband took over the business and he is extremely rude at the old place. Not much, been going here for awhile I have 6 dogs , the grooming is not that great, usually I have my dogs shaved for the summer, they can't even do that right, feet to me are the most important things I need to get done and told them plenty of times, they still can't get that right, yes they are reasonable but not great groomers, I use them because they are close, my dogs do not like driving in cars, I will drive miles now to go to my new place for sure. I called and left a message to get my dogs groomed, asked them to call me back, no call, called the next day, still crickets!!! I just picked up my dog from this groomer. I looked him over before I paid and noticed that there still was hard clumps of fur right around his mouth (food residual). I asked that his face be washed again and it was. I was belting him in the car and I noticed both of his inner ears were still caked with dirt. i asked her to come out and look at this she did, said she was sorry and then proceeded to walk him back inside to wipe out his ears. I took my puppy Marley in for his first grooming ever! I was nervous and did not know what to expect. I actually walked into Happy Dog Grooming in West Hills on Woodlake Avenue without an appointment. Yajana was super helpful and advised what the entire procedure would be like and suggested how much of Marley's hair to cut. She took my information and told me she would call me when she was done. When I picked up Marley he looked so different, he looked sharp, and clean. She did a great job on his face, paws, ears, teeth, I mean everything! She had him all ready, smelling great, and wearing a cute basketball bandana! It was a great experience, and I hope next month when I take him in again, we receive the same level of customer service. We live a couple of blocks away so the location is very convenient and would love to make it our regular place for Marley's grooming. read more

I really hate writing bad reviews especially for new neighborhood businesses. I have a 13 year old Persian cat that I get groomed all of the time. I was very satisfied with our previous groomers with the exception that my cat comes home exhausted even though she is there for the minimal amount of time. I assume it's because she is usually one of the only cats amongst several barking dogs in a small area. So I decided to find a place closer to home- Happy Dogs seemed perfect. I was able to get a same day appointment which was extremely helpful. I requested a lion cut. I was a little concerned because of a language barrier but thought we were both on the same page. She understood the lion cut and showed me on the cat where she was going to cut. I agreed and said that that is what she normally gets. Well, I was EXTREMELY disturbed when I got there and saw my beautiful cat looking like an alien. The fur that was supposed to be the mane is uneven, shaved WAY too high, and looks just weird all around. They left the tail full which I requested so I was glad about that. Everything else is just awful to say the least. I've never in all my years of having my cat groomed been so disappointed and upset. The only good thing was that she had a sore under her leg and they notified me about it so I could look at it. I don't think this is a sore that had anything to do with the shop and I appreciate them showing me. Needless to say, I will never go back and will not be recommending them to anyone!!! read more

As I mentioned on Saturday I was going to give an update to my review. First off, I don't like that yelp adds a comment next to the number of stars the business gets rated as "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" I never said that and now would definitely not say that. I've been to this groomers twice for full service. The first time was good enough to go back a second time.I'm all for supporting neighborhood businesses. The owner was nice and polite but there was a language barrier and unfortunately I don't speak Spanish. Thankfully the owners very young daughter was their to assist and has been each time I went. I took my dog for a full grooming on Saturday. Wash, cut, nail trim and anal glands cleaned. When I didn't hear from the business 2 and 1/2 hours later (I think normal wait time) I figured she was probably ready so I went to pick her up. They seemed surprised that I was there and hurried into the back to bring her out. She came out looking startled/skittish and she kept trying to lift her back paw and tucking her back side in and running around the store as if uncomfortable. I want to mention there was another groomer there a female who I hadn't seen before. I asked them what was wrong they said oh nothing she is fine. She wasn't. I could just tell in her eyes that something was off. I took her home and looked her over and didn't see anything visible that could be causing her pain and she didn't react to me touching her anywhere. I did notice they cut one of her nail so short it bleed and they put the stuff on it to stop the bleeding. She had dried blood on her paw. I found another nail that was split and may have been poke back into her paw. She kept doing what she was doing in the store and then ran and hid under the bed for the rest of the day. She is a puppy (8 months) and normally very activate running around the house causing a humorous chaos and annoying my other two dogs. So running and hiding under the bed was very odd behavior. Today she is getting better but still seems a little traumatized. I don't know exactly what happened but what I do know is there is another review of this business that had a similar complaint to mine. This is enough for me to say I WILL NOT be using this place of business again. If anyone decides to use them based on the reviews they should keep in mind the review that customer Melissa and I have stated. read more

We brought our Miniature Schnauzer in there today for the first time and they did a great job! We had been going to Petco for 12 years, but as our dog has aged she has become a bit too hard to deal with when it comes to grooming. She did not behave herself with the Petco staff today, so we had to move on. That's how we ended up at Happy Dogs Grooming. We took our two chocolate labs there, one is 60 pounds and the other is closer to 100. They did a great job, including nails, teeth, ears and their coats were shinier and softer than we have ever seen. The dogs smelled better than ever, including their breath. I discovered Happy Dogs Grooming about two years ago while driving by. I decided to give them a try since they are walking distance from my home. Once I tried them, I've never gone back to my previous groomer. My neighbors also take their two dogs to this place and are happy with their services and convenient location. Jose is super nice and gentle with his care of my dog. This place also is very careful with my dog's belongings (collar and flea collar) which have never been misplaced when I drop her off. So I had to try this place out for my dogs! It's very convenient for my family and I to take our dogs to get groomed. We took the dogs last Saturday, very clean and friendly employees. We leave the dogs for two hours and we come back to get them (they looked great and smelled fabulous). But my little dog hasn't been acting the same since. When we went to pick her up she came out of the back room with no leash on. She has been walking differently, she can't seem to jump up and is keeping to herself. She wasn't like this before we brought her in. She cries when we pet her. I will not be giving this place my money ever again!! Also, my mom brought the little pup back in on that following Monday to make sure they fully extracted her and the first thing that came out of the guys mouth was "I didn't hit her" (really buddy because, no one accused you of that but now that you brought that up) I'm very disappointed read more
