Really convenient nail trimming, but had to get an appointment for a full groom. Very friendly and my dog had no issues.

I can not believe how well my experience was with this business. My Great Pyrenees as been groomed before by several other groomers and is always sore and runs at the sight of a brush. BUT not only did they completely groom my Daisy they also got out ALL the matts she accumulated (because she hates being brushed and only lets me do so much) with out leaving her with a "baboon butt" like the other groomers. A gentleman took my chow/shepherd mix and silky cairn terrier (Brad) in for a groom. My chow mix (Fred) needed to be shaved. This was the first year I kept his undercoat to help with cooling. It was difficult to brush and shave after a pregnancy and birth. They gave me very reasonable quotes. They took Fred as a medium dog and Brad as a small. All in all, it was around $80. I read the other reviews on here. I am kind of surprised as the pin-striped shave looked bad but was not my experience with my groomer. However, if you are looking for a groomer who keeps to showman standards, Companion Animal Clinic recommended Sandy Paws Pet Grooming. Some of us are just looking to keep the sand out of their coats and aim for desert-standard clean. I like a groomer who can return my calls and is open regularly, or in this case, keeps long hours for customer convenience. Very accommodating and professional. The owner at Groomingdale's is all about the animals. I've taken my dog there just for nail trims 4 times now, and every time the owner goes out of his way to greet my dog, give him some pats, talk to him, and make it all about him. Humans are secondary, he is still nice, but you can tell he just loves the animals and that is fine with me. There are two other popular groomers in town where my dog doesn't even want to go in, but at Groomingdales, he feels safe and cared for from the beginning. Took our teacup yorkie here. Our experience was horrible!! She is extremely used to getting groomed but our groomer relocated. Groomingdales yucca valley bruised my dogs bladder, cut her full yorkie coat to look like a schnauzer and she had thick clipper lines all the way down her back making her look like she's wearing a pinstriped suit. When I picked her up she was terrified because she was on the floor with a bunch of strange dogs. NEVER AGAIN This is a terrible groomer all the way around!! read more

Joe was absolutely wonderful with my very reactive dog. He's perfect throughout the grooming until you get to his nails and then he becomes aggressive. Joe spent at least 15 minutes before the bath bonding with him and calming him. It was the least traumatic experience we've ever had with a groomer. He is our new go to! read more

Took in my Westie for a "Westie Cut." The person who clipped my dog completely removed the "skirt" which is always left on a Westie and left a semi-bald patch the shape of an electric clipper on her back. He tried claiming that it was a thin spot on the dogs coat, but it wasn't thin hair there, jut hair clipped too short. I will NEVER GO BACK and strongly recommend trying one someone else. UPDATE: They were finally willing to refund the cut. It still doesn't help that much considering we were going to show her and it will take a few months to grow her skirt out. We have a Bichon Frise mix (Mopsy) which is a difficult breed to groom properly. These guys have done a remarkable job grooming him - show quality. Now if I could only keep him from running free range here in the open desert his snow white coat would stay white. read more

On the referral of a friend who is a happy customer working with one of the young men, I had taken my rescue senior Boxer, Buster, to Groomingdales, the first time for a nail clip, and the second time for the works - nails, bath, etc. Buster loved the day at the spa and the two young men that took care of him. A few months after Buster passed away, I called to schedule an appointment for my new dog - a senior rescue part Boxer and Rhodesian Ridgeback, Chaco. I explained to the young man that Chaco had been confiscated by animal services, lived at the rescue, and had been with me for two months and desperately needed a pedicure. I also explained that he didn't seem partial to men and was very loving and protective of me and that I didn't know how he got along with other dogs. He suggested that at a quiet and new environment Chaco was likely to respond differently. The young man suggested we make an appointment at 1:30 p.m. the day after Christmas. Because I am almost 70 and on a walker, and Chaco has a bad ACL (we both walk funny, I explained) he thought it would be quieter then and that I should call when I got there to have them help us. I got there five minutes early for the appointment and called. A woman answered the phone; I think her name was TJ. I explained that I was there for our 1:30 appointment and the first thing out of her mouth was "We're too busy." I said I had an appointment. She said again that they were too busy. I responded by saying that I wished someone had let me know because it's quite an ordeal for me to get us out, and her reply was, "You didn't give us your phone number and we have an appointment for Charley." I explained I always leave my phone number because of just such occurrences and his name is Chaco, not Charley, and I wanted to figure out what we could do. I gave her a brief synopsis of my conversation with the young man when I made the appointment. The conversation with TJ - it was actually a tirade on her part, went downhill from there, and she hung up on me. I managed to get my walker out of the car and get to the door and get in, and she met me, red-faced and belligerent. I told her that while I didn't appreciate being hung up on, that I wanted to work this out. All she did was assume what I was going to say and start attacking. I started to say that my dog was suspicious of men and that he would settle down - she started yelling at me when I got to "suspicious of men" that I couldn't bring a dangerous dog in there, as if that is something I wanted to do. I found her to be someone who did not listen, jumped to conclusions, responded abusively, was thoroughly unpleasant, and most importantly, someone I would never trust with my animal. I finally just turned and left. I was so upset that after I had driven away I had to pull over because I was shaking. I burst into tears, and I can't remember the last time that happened. I went there June 16,2012 it was about 10am, when i got out of the Vet, and my dog needed a cut because its summer time so the place that i was going to was not open so Groomingdales was next door to the VCA hospital I decided to take my yorkie there, the lady was nice she squezed us in, she told us to come back for him in a hr. So we left, we came back for him about and hr and half later and they were still not done but no complaints i didnt had an appoinment so i waited there about 30 more mins. when i recived the dog he had a 3 by half of inch burn like when u scrape ur knees, and a few more little cuts all over his body that looked like sratches and on top of that it was very uneven haircut patchy. After i examine him in my car a lil. more i started to nocited more burned spots under his lil. arms and legs when i say arms and legs from his armpit to wrist, to put in perspected. So i decided to confront the lady about the situation and she started to say that it was my fault. And she was a PROFESIONAL and if she was an alleged profesional my dog would not have this scrapes and burns and cuts she also said it was unavoidable. This is not my dogs first haircut he's been to sevaral from Brenda's paw to Petsmart Grooming just to name a couple and with worse hair than when he went to this place and never had this happen to him. He's a small 8lb yorkie. seeing burns this size shouldn't be taken lightly. After confronting the lady i headed back to the hospital to get him check out and they agreed with me that it was bad he got seen by the vet and prescribe him some mefication for his cuts and burns. And they informed me that this was not the first time that this had happen. BEWARE !!! Ps: Any more time with this lady i would'f lost my mind. I take my 2 poodles to Gromingdale's Paw Spa every 2 weeks. They are wonderful with my 2 and with all the dogs I have seen come in and go home. My dogs cannot wait to get out of the car and go in and see the staff. I have never had a bad haircut from any of the groomers working there. I like that they do the dogs from start to finish before they start another one. My previous dogs always had to stay from 8:30 till 4 pm. When my dogs go to Groomingdae's they are ready in 2 hours or less. This really keeps the stress factor down and send me home with happy pups. I would also like to add that the photos of the brown dog are not Groomingdale's in Yucca Valley shop. They do not have granite counter top in their shop. read more
