On our way home from picking up Leo from daycare - Tired out puppy after a fun filled day at JT pet resort!

We took our puppy Leo here for daycare while we explored JTNP (pets are not allowed on most hiking trails). Leo had such a great time getting all that puppy energy out of his system and playing with the other dogs all day. Christina was great and I loved seeing all the videos she recorded of Leo having a blast that day. I could tell she loves dogs and they all love her too. We will definitely bring Leo here again next time we visit Joshua Tree!

We already posted a 5 star review on Google last October, we boarded our cats here for 3 weeks, and it was a great experience for our cats. We boarded our dog Nai Nai here for a week, and Christina was great in taking care of her, and she was responsive to my daily checking. Nai Nai had a great time and made new friends here too. Highly recommended.

Late review from Nov. 2023 Christina was very helpful and answered all my questions. We dropped off our pup for doggy day care and he responded well to Christina. Normally, he is hesitant towards strangers but he must've felt the good vibe and was comfortable to go with her. We picked him up and he was happy and looked like he had a good time. We are so thankful to have found this amazing place in Joshua Tree! The owner (Christina) is incredibly friendly, professional and just plain old awesome! When I bring my tiny pup here, I can rest assured that he is safe and in good hands! I am very particular about who I trust with my lil pup and that being said, I can't recommend JT Pet Resort enough! We are so so lucky to have them in Joshua Tree! :)

I recommend this pet resort 100%. The owner is so caring and wise with the dogs. She also helps re home dogs that have been abandoned in her area. She took care of my huge lab/Great Dane mix LEO who she rescued nursed back to health and made sure he went to an appropriate home which turned out to me me!!! This is how we got a new fur baby LEO. Thank you for giving LEO a safe space.

Our sweet Patuna after being in doggy daycare in Joshua Tree!

Traveling and needed a one day doggy daycare so we could take a tour of Joshua Tree National Park. Dogs are not allowed on the trails and we wanted to take the Creative Soul Scavenger Hunt. Christina runs a dog rescue and was the only doggy daycare willing to help out tourist traveling with their dog. We used the VIP dog service and our pup was so happy! Christina has a good schedule where the VIP dogs have playtime, then on the couch cuddle time. Hours later we collected our dog who had been cared for. Traveling with your dog? Call Christina! Christina kept me informed by text every step of the way.

Twilly stayed here for (2) nights and she didn't want to leave!! When picking her up, she wanted to go back in the house many times and gave a bunch of goodbye kisses to Christina before she left. Christina took pictures and updated me on Twilly when I was hiking/away. Highly recommend this place.

We are Joshua Tree locals and we needed to board our. 8 month old Labrador overnight. We opted for the "in house" boarding and are very happy we did. Christina was very professional and thorough with Luna's vaccine records and even caught one that needed a booster which she was able to do in-house. This means a lot because it means our dog is protected as well as having peace of mind knowing the other dogs are current with their vaccines. Christina's communication was also excellent and responded quickly to our inquiries as to how Luna was getting on. Luna came home VERY tired after so much play with the other dogs and we we are happy to have such a conscientious and professional local option when we need to board our girl.

Joshua tree pet resort is THE place to drop off your dog for the day while you enjoy and get the most out of the park. It's conveniently located near the park entrance/exit. Christina was very easy to communicate with and seemed to genuinely care for all the dogs in her care. Wrigley was so excited to be at Joshua Tree Pet Resort, she didn't even want to leave when we came back to pick her up. Would definitely recommend bringing your dog here if they're joining you on a trip to Joshua tree.

We came into town for a couple of days and couldn't keep our dog Judy with us at our hotel, so this place really came in handy! She was short one of her shots as well and I almost panicked!! But they were able to give her the shot during her stay, literally a lifesaver and so convenient. Great service, you can tell they really love dogs!

We trusted our 8 months old Australian Cattle puppy to Christina while we went to explore Joshua tree. It was our first time leaving her at doggy day care and we were a little nervous at first. Especially because there is no cell phone service in Joshua Tree national park. After we came to pick Poppy up, Christina gave us a very detailed overview of how Poppy did at the day care which was very usefull to better understand our dog's behavior and needs. Such a great find! We were in Joshua Tree for my daughter's 7th birthday when she begged us to get sushi for her special meal. Unable to bring our dog with us or leave her at the campsite, we called up Christina desperate to see if we could drop our dog off for the day. She was so friendly and accommodating with our last minute request! It was convenient that they were able to get our dog the vaccinations she needed while she was there. River (our dog) had a fantastic time and came back to us happy and healthy, while we were able to take a hike that we otherwise couldn't AND enjoy a happy birthday dinner. Our dog had a great time at JT pet resort! We had a short trip to Joshua Tree and needed a place for our pitbull mix to stay while we explored some of the trails. Took my two pups to JT Pet Resort when I traveled out of town for my daughter's wedding. I was apprehensive because I have never boarded them. They did great thanks to the caring and competent Christina Mills. My small dog is anxious but she did great as did my golden retriever. I cannot say enough good things about the way this professional business is run. Great communication and attention to detail. And they genuinely loved and cared for my fur babies. Anyone with a dog knows that a dog is more than a dog--they're family. When looking for someone to take care of your family, you want the best of the best. Christina took the time to get to know Ellie, ask questions, and gauge what her comfort level was all before taking her in for the day. She was also super responsive texting throughout the day as I checked in on Ellie. It was our first time dropping her off at a day care so I was nervous, but Christina helped ease that so much! She even sent several cute photos of Ellie bonding with her and her mom that was visiting for the week. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. read more

If you have a doggie that's used to staying in your house, DO NOT take your dog here. My 9 year old dog messed on his bed,.... And that NEVER happens. I can only imagine that because the caretakers were "scared" of my 12 pound dog, that he is turn did what dogs do and didn't want to be touched by them. He is a well adjusted dog. One week here was almost $300. Ridiculous!! These are NOT dog people. Something was wrong that caused my dog to behave the way he did. He has been boarded NUMEROUS times and I've NEVER had the issues I had at this place. It also smells horrible. Edit: I was reading the response from the owner of this "kennel". I could not decline "VIP" services if I didn't know they existed ‍ so THAT is a bold face lie. This is BY FAR still the worst "boarding" facility I've ever seen and the owners have now proven themselves to be liars. read more

Highly recommended! Christina is a true dog whisperer. Our American Bulldog Duke had never been boarded before. He's friendly but kind of a loner when it comes to other dogs. We were worried he would be sad and lonely for the week he stayed at the resort. Also he was diagnosed with an ear infection a few days before we were scheduled to leave so Christina had to deal with his medicines. No problems whatsoever....everything went very smoothly... he became fast friends with Christina's son and was only slightly excited to come home. read more

We always are nervous when leaving our pup at a new place. Christina and the JTPR staff really get it - we received updates and photos, and Sammie got a great social and care stay. My family was visiting Joshua Tree and couldn't bring our dog on the trails with us, so had him stay at day care for the day. Christina made registration and drop-off super-easy, and shared some photos and tidbits about our dog's day with us. Thank you to Christina and staff for taking care of our pup Deebo! We were able to make a last minute reservation for him for the daycare service so the humans could go hike the national park. Christina answered all our questions as we were nervous leaving our 5 month old puppy somewhere else for the first time and she responded quickly too. Deebo was so pooped by the time we picked him which was nice for us because we were equally as tired lol. I could tell Deebo loved it there and loved Christina because when we were taking him back to the car he turned around and ran to Christina to say one last goodbye! This is one of the best doggy daycare we have been to. It's super spacious and the staff cannot be any friendlier. Our goldendoodle baby Waffles had a blast while we went for a hike at Joshua Tree. When we picked her up she was so happy and tired. Christina is amazing, so patient and helpful. Months later when we need to check Waffles into another daycare, they required a recommendation letter from other daycares she has been to. Christina answered my call on a Christmas day and immediately provided me the sweetest grade score for Waffles. 5 stars service! Highly recommend Joshua Tree Pet Resort! read more

My pup, Enzo & I spent a month in Joshua Tree working remotely to escape the gray Portland rain and Enzo went to the JT Pet Resort Tuesdays & Thursdays the whole time. He was SO happy there! Christina was lovely; very professional, checked vaccines, easy to communicate with and Enzo adored her. He never wanted to come home! Highly recommend for doggy daycare. Joshua Tree Pet Resort is based on the belief that our 4-legged guest's needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to make sure your cat or dog's boarding experience will be fun and memorable. Everybody gets love and attention daily. Every guest is unique to us, so our individual assessment lets us know exactly what pet care your beloved cat, dog or pocket pet will need while staying at our pet resort. We offer Doggy Day Care, long or short term overnight Boarding, with two options. Our most popular option is what we call our VIP and that's when the dog stays inside our home vs the kennel facility. This option is great for dogs with separation anxiety, dogs from shelters, seniors, dogs with special needs or for any pooch that wants the comfort of a home away from home experience. The other option is our indoor, temperature controlled facility that offers large, individual suites. Both options include outside play and socializition. All dogs and cats have to be current on the following vaccines: Dogs; DH2PP, Bordetella and Rabies Cats; FVRCPC and Rabies. We offer them here if needed. This service is offer to the public as well, but you do need an appointment.

Established in 2004.

The Mills Family Welcomes You To Joshua Tree Pet Resort, The Kennel Above The Rest. They are conveniently located 1 mile west of the Joshua Tree National Park enterance. Dr. Mills is a veterinarian and Christina has worked in the veterinary field for 10+ years. Together, the Joshua Tree Pet Resort team has plenty of pet care experience. In 2003, the Mills Family moved to Joshua Tree and, soon after, Christina started the pet sitting business. Her dream of having her own kennel facility came true in 2007. Growing up around animals taught their kids, Emma, Sara and Daniel to be responsible, caring and sensitive towards all creatures. However, they're now off to college, pursuing a carrier within the medical field. "The dogs, themselves are Joshua Tree Pet Resort's Best referrals". That shows by the many Happy dogs, that show their excitement every time they come back. The Mills Family's number 1 goal is to provide a 5-Star experience for both owner and pet.

Meet the Business Owner: Christina M.

I grew up in Sweden, but I moved to the states after I finished college. I worked in the Veterinary field for many years. It was through work I met my husband. We have 3 teenaged kids. Growing up around animals taught Emma, Sara and Daniel to be responsible, caring and sensitive towards all creatures. Between school work and sport activities the teens still enjoy giving a helping hand with the resort. My dream of working with animals while caring for my family, was fulfilled thanks to the many people that trusted me with their pets. The happy fur-babies are the best testiment, to the fun and loving care provided while in our care.

My husband and I recently had to leave town for a week, and this time we did not have the option of having a friend watch our two big dogs. We were a bit concerned about finding a trustworthy kennel in the hi-desert that would provide good care. Luckily, I had come across Quality Pet Sitting and Boarding by chance a few months earlier and was impressed by how clean the kennel was, as well as the owner Christine's knowledge and expertise. Not to mention the prices were a bit better than any other local kennel! When I dropped off my dogs, Christine took her time getting all of their information including their emergency contact info, vaccination records, health history, any medications, feeding schedule, and playtime needs. I was fairly surprised at just how roomy and clean the dog runs were; the building was cool, smelled pleasant, and everything had a place. More importantly, each of the dogs seemed peaceful and content - with almost no barking!! I have worked at a veterinary kennel before and have never before seen such a happy facility as Quality Pet Sitting. I was a little concerned about how my Boxer would behave, since he is a protective high-energy dog who overreacts occasionally when other bigger dogs get in his face. Christine took time to place my dogs into an end-run that was a bit farther from the main hubbub, and promised to give him his own separate playtime. My Basset Hound had some tummy troubles/anxiety the first day or two, but Christine gave her immediate medical attention and she bounced right back! I also wondered about how much personal attention they would receive, since both my dogs are extremely sociable and love people. I was not disappointed - it seems that Christine's younger daughter took a great liking to them and they had plenty of fun playtime together. I have been using Qualitiy Pet Sitting and Boarding for the six years that I have living in the hi-desert. I have been so satisfied and confident that my babies will get the best treatment possible. First, Chris, the owner, is extremely well- educated and compatent. She has been working many years with animals in a professional setting. In these settings she has been trusted with treating a wide varity of situations. Not only does Chris know what she is doing, she does it with her heart giving them all the affection and love that nourishes them while they are in her family-like facility. She has been flexible and willing to accomidate my three senior babes which all have different needs. She gave daily medication faithfully. She allowed two of my babes to stay in the same kennel. She also arranged to place one dog in a quite small area which he loves and feels safe in. Chris is always on time when pick up time comes. All of my little ones seem healthy and happy to see me. I do not ever see any anxiety. They too trust her to be reliable and debendable to take care of them, just like they are at home. Chris also encourages me to call her to check on the status on my kids when I have been gone on trips, long or short. Quality Petsitting and boarding is a wonderful place. All of the dogs here are cared for the rescuing and the boarding. Why you say? Because I was searching for a wonderful dog luckily I found her. I looked online at Quality Petsitting on http://Petfinder.com when I saw her picture on there I knew I had to get her. She fitted my life style. When I went to go get her she was healthy and happy and wanting a place to call home she knew that I wanted a best friend for a long time. She ran up to me knew that we have a bond. Her name is Lucy she is a wonderful dog. She loved playing with the other boarding dogs. She also liked sharing toys. She is kid friendly. She also knew if I said "Want to see your friends at the Petsitting." She gets all happy and waits by the door. She Loved going to Quality Petsitting. My first look at Quality Pettsitting it was this place looks wonderful. All of the dogs looked happy want to play more. It has plenty of room to have dogs roam the yards to play. There were plenty of toys for them to play with. Every dog gets exercised. I even volunteer at this place. I love playing with the dogs. Playing rug a war with them, through the ball, playing fetch the sticks and give them dog treats. I help out walking the dogs also. I also help clean after them. I absolutely adore this business! Christina has always been a pleasure to work with. The first time we boarded with JT Pet Resort was about a year ago, and our pup experienced some anxiety at night in the kennel. Christina kept me updated on my dog's emotional status, then finally suggested we opt for VIP services. What a blessing that turned out to be, because Christina followed up with me the next day to say how great our pup did in their home. Since then we have used JT Pet Resort several times, both for extended periods of time and short weekend stays. Every time I drop off my dog I know she is in great hands with Christina and Zeke. Caring for animals is truly Zeke's calling. (Obviously Christina's, too.) I can tell he enjoys forming bonds with the animals based upon my doggo's reaction when we leave: nothing but kisses and cuddles on the way out the door. I highly recommend this business if you are dropping your animal off for the day while you visit the park, or if you are heading out, long-term, on vacation or business. I have had Christine take care of all 6 of my kids for 7 years now. Half of them stay at her kennels and the other half stay at home. She makes the visits to my home twice a day for medications. I talk with her at least twice a day to see how everyone is doing. And once I get home it's like I never left, everyone is well adjusted and no trauma. When I've been to her kennels it's always a fun atmosphere and not alot of nervous barking-probably because the dogs are all able to run. I've looked into alot of places here in the Morongo Basin, but this place is it-it's their second home. And as far as the comment about dog's being loopy and/or drugged-well, I leave my "Kids" with Christine once a month I have never seen a dog drugged, loopy or not happy. Quality Petsitting and Boarding is Fantastic and nobody else compares to their top quality and well maintained (very clean!) service in the entire area. Quality Petsitting and Boarding is board certified and fully licensed; which I have learned is not always the case for other facilities (i.e. 29 Palms). I sincerely appreciate the care and patience that Christine extends to my family. Knowing Christine is there offers me the peaceful satisfaction of knowing that I can take time off without worrying about the safety and care of my Ginger. My heartfelt gratitude to Christine! On the paperwork, one of the questions if you want your dog to have a treatment. It doesn't say what it is though. I checked ok. I dropped my two dogs off on a Friday night. On the following Tuesday, she text if she could give my dogs a treatment. I said ok. She said my lab and boxer mix were stressed out. Came home Sunday night. Asked her what a treatment was. She said it wad "ACE". What's that??? She said "Your vet will know". Called my vet. A "treatment" is Acepromazine, a prescription tranquilzer for dogs!!! So if you don't want your dogs tranquilzed, go somewhere else. FYI, I should have asked more questions and not trusted so easily! Also, read contract carefully and get a copy. She doesn't give you one after you sign it! read more

We took my dog to this daycare in Joshua Tree while we went on vacation and had a really positive experience. The location is incredibly convenient--on the way to NP entrance, making it easy to drop off my dog without any hassle. I have been impressed several times that I've kenneled my pooch at JT Pet Resort. The variety of services and special touches exceed any other pet kennel facility in this area. Christina and Zach have an organized, methodical and well thought out approach to pet care and services provided. My pooch enjoys the VIP option - where you can have your pet stay in the house vs. one of the outlying kennels. Great for dogs that need a bit more one-on-one TLC and afraid of some of the larger dogs that are kenneled there, etc. Highly recommend JT Pet Resort - to anyone that wants to keep their dog at a placed that does not feel like a typical kennel. read more

I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciated the service from the Joshua Tree Pet Resort and the keeping of my dad's dog for over two weeks! On a last minute emergency, Christina was able to take Princess in and give her the necessary support. She checked backgrounds for the safety of animals, worked with individual dietary needs, and checked to make sure she was cared for daily. She and Zeke made my dad completely comfortable while he was away, the the pricing was super reasonable. If you need to have someone watch your pet, it would benefit you to use Joshua Tree Pet Resort and feel comfortable in doing so. read more

Being in the military, I'm constantly traveling. I almost felt too bad bringing my dog to the high desert, but since I live alone here we are!!! I'm so thankful to have Christine when I go out of town. The prices are reasonable and my pooch gets to play while I'm gone! The facalities are clean and well kept. Christine ensures she takes all your dogs information (shot record, feeding schedule, etc) to keep your pooch on schedule. Plus you can bring your own dogs bedding, this is huge for me since my dog is very spoiled and sleeps in the bed. I always feel bad dropping off my pup, but he's always happy there! read more

Of all the kennels I have stayed in Quality Pet sitting is by far the best. What I like most if the fact the kennels and yards are clean and well cared for. Peoples pets that are borded there not only are cared for with food and shelter but also have a play yard and people ot attend to their needs. If I needed a place to care for our two dogs I wouldn't hesitate to have them stay at Quality Petsitting. All the dogs seems very happy and they get a lot of play time. We have boarded our Chesapeake Bay Retriever here many times, and have always been happy! They treat our dog as if he were their own! We know that our dog loves going to Joshua Tree Pet Resort, because he is always so happy when we pull in to drop him off! Paul and Angela M. We absolutely love this boarding facility! We feel at ease knowing our 1.5 year old liter mates are in a safe, comfortable, clean, climate controlled environment. I have been taking Shawnee to Christine for about 5-6 years. Shawnee loves to run and play and would be heartbroken in a kennel where she could not do this. She always seems happy when I come back to pick her up. Christine takes wonderful care of the pets that I have seen there. We leave our dog Indy with with Chirstine when we can't take her. I especially like the fact that her husband is a licensed Veterinarian who works currently for the ASPCA. We arrived at Joshua Tree State Park unable to take our dog on the trails. After reading a review, we left little Cookie with this sweet family for 2 days. The kids played with her outside and inside and she was treated like one of the family. I am very fussy when it comes to leaving my dog and they went beyond all expectations. We have brought our dog here twice now and have not had any complaints. I love that you can text to check in on them throughout the day and get pictures. We have a Rottweiler mix with severe anxiety and he seemed to love being there.
