Good selection of food on the menu,we had The Crispy Parmesan Garlic Mushrooms for an appetizer. They came out of the kitchen quickly and the are the Best battered fried mushrooms we have had. They were not overly breaded or too crunchy, they were easy to cut with a fork and the aioli dipping sauce that accompanies them is excellent too. My wife had the Mushroom Burger which has sautéed garlic mushrooms, Swiss cheese and a herb aioli sauce. I had the Bleu Burger which has a bleu cheese bacon, onion sauce. Burgers are 1/2 lb cooked a wood fired grill. The meat is a blend of Chuck,Short-rib, and Brisket. You can order your burgers to temp of your liking and ours came out perfectly cooked, very flavorful and very juicy! Get extra napkins you will need them. We upgraded to a Premium Side and we choose Parmesan Garlic Fries which were great , had bunch of flavor and cheese. Our server was great and made sure were we taken care of. My husband and I went to the Groovy Goat at OWA yesterday to use our BOGO coupon. It was awful!! The place is huge, and there was only one other couple in the whole place. Our waitress finally waited on us (what was the hold up?) and when she brought our beers she asked us if we wanted straws. Huh??? We ordered the shrimp platter, and the food was awful! The shrimp could have come out of a box. We also ordered some kind of Mexican corn that was bland and tasted like it was weeks old. Our server said it was good. After we told her it was awful, she said a lot of people say that. Why didn't you say so earlier? Anyhow, the food was bad, the service was so slow. Never again!! read more

We visited this restaurant last night after a night in the park. We are with a soccer team so we had a big group of 16, BUT we told them if was fine to split us up when we asked if they had space for us. They said they did and started walking us to our table. The hostess stopped at a booth right by the hostess station and the kids sat there together leaving 9 adults. The hostess walked us to another booth and that was it. There was no way 9 adults could fit at this one booth so she said some of us could sit at the bar. We did that and it was fine. Until 30 minutes passed by and no one had checked on either booth. They had not been greeted or anything. I will pause here to say the bartender was great and working his tail off. We were at the bar to start with and we got drinks pretty quickly. He was great. Because the two booths had not been greeted at all, two families decided to leave because they didn't even have drinks yet. Since they were leaving, my husband and I got up from the bar to go sit at the booth with our daughter WHO WAS ALREADY SITTING THERE because we had been seated there as one of our tables. But now she was there alone and we obviously didn't want her to sit at the bar with us so we moved to the booth with her. At this point, I see the hostess glaring at me and talking to the other hostess. I thought she might not realize we were part of the group at that table so I explained that half our party left because they still hadn't been greeted so we just moved from the bar over with our daughter. She says with an incredible attitude "well we were going to use that table." I again explain to her that it wasn't an open table. It was literally the table she just sat our daughter and her friends at. It wasn't an open table to use. She again repeats that she was going to use that table, rolled her eyes, and walked off. My husband walked over from the bar where he was trying to pay our tab and asked me what happened because he could see how she was acting from across the restaurant. I explained what happened and at this point you can see her staring at us and talking to another employee. So my husband walked over and asked to talk to her and she said "I have nothing to say to you" so my husband asked the other employee to get the manager to come to our table. My husband worked in a restaurant as a general manager for 25 years so we are understanding of pretty much everything but the attitude and disrespect this employee was giving was the worst experience and at this point none of us wanted to stay there anymore. The manager came over and was very nice and comped our drinks. At this point, now almost 40 minutes in, we still had not been greeted by a server at this point. Attitude is everything in the service industry. The lady was so rude the table next to us was coming over and talking to us about how they couldn't believe she did that and how it was our table and our daughter had been sitting there the whole time WHERE THE HOSTESS SAT HER. Anyway, bartender was nice. Manager was nice. Atmosphere seemed cool. Hostess ruined the night. We left without eating so I can't review the food. read more

This was our first time here... a party of 4 adults. Decor and vibe was kinda cool. Server came right away to take drink orders. 2 of us ordered a salad with steak (wedge and Greek) and the meat was overdone on both. The initial Stella pour was stale and the line needed to be cleared a little so a second was brought out to replace the first. The chili was fine, just a little bland. The waiter did not seem very familiar with the menu and was a little overwhelmed, I assume, since he wasn't very attentive. Amazing happy hour prices & even better food. We got THE nachos & were far from disappointed. First, I want to mention how HUGE they are, I'd say they feed 4 people .. but we weren't aware of that and ordered it for just 2. Seriously one of the best tasting salads I've ever had. Yes, ever. The shrimp was great. Fresh, not frozen, not cooked in coconut flakes or that weird junk. (You might like that, I don't.) It came with eBay the server described as a house made tartar sauce, but better because it has jalapeños and some other things in it. I'm personally not a fan of jalapeños, but man... I asked for the jalapeño aioli on the side so the kitchen interpreted that as deleting it from the order. The chicken was cooked perfectly but the tots were stale. My friend ordered a Turkey avocado wrap on gluten free wrap with vinegar slaw. Of course the wrap was not very good like thick paper but it's gluten free so no problem. First time to visit the Groovy Goat, interesting name got me in the door. I had the Buffalo wings and wasn't disappointed with my selection. We ate outside near the bar. Anthony was the bartender and our waiter he was terrific. He made suggestions on drinks appetizer and gave various choices for our dinner both were very good. I know because after the wings I had some parmesan fries and part of the Swiss mushroom burger. Anthony thanks for helping us out great guy. It was good, but only had a lemon and a lime. So I wouldn't suggest the bloody mary if you are in that enjoys the full salad in your drink. No veggies in this one. We started with the totchos, or tater tot nachos. These are essentially nachos with tater tots instead of chips. They were great, but I wish they had more cheese and added some sour cream. Their mushroom and swiss burger has an aioli sauce that I could eat in it's own. The entire burger was absolutely delicious. Server was attentive and nice but you can tell they were short staffed like many restaurants due to pandemic. Food was ok nothing too exciting. The best thing was the tater tots. Don't waste your time or money. I've given this place so many chances since it's been open. Locals avoid it for a reason. I've never had good service, and food isn't worth the terrible service. The tables are always sticky and gross, along with the floor and seats. Last time we were there, we at 8:30 with maybe 5 other tables in the whole place. We waited over 30 min for our food. Then we went to play some games in the arcade. We paid money for credits on the cards, then about 12 min later they shut off all the games with no warning. I looked at my phone and it was 9:17 pm. Not a normal time slot to be shutting down, especially without any warning. Not to mention they never have the AC on in the arcade so it's just a shit ton of kids running around in a sweat box. We found this on Yelp when looking for a Sports Pub. The inside has lots of TV's and a bar in the middle. I had a fish sandwich recommended by the server and my husband the fish and chips. He really liked his... mine was just OK...the server was attentive and we also liked the crab dip. The chips were stale but I don't know if the humidity affects that or they were just stale. Food: The Groovy Goat is a typical big kid bar hangout restaurant, so they have bar food mainly. The parmesan mushrooms were really good and my oyster sliders were very tasty, I did not think I would like them at all but decided to try them anyway. I will say that one of the guys I came with got Mac 'n Cheese as a side and, I agree with some of the other comments, it straight up looked like Kraft mac 'n cheese. That would have been a put off for me. Do something original, put bacon in it and use your own recipe. Atmosphere: It's a bar, so it's a little noisy inside. They have lots of goofy groovy goat stuff for sale and the decorations are all very odd. I like that it is connected to an arcade, I'm a nerd like that. It's fun, hip, trendy and I am sure the karaoke gets pretty bumpin... Price: A little on the pricy side for bar food, I thought. Gonna be about 25$ for a meal and a drink. If you want a steak or seafood, it'll be around 35$. It's not the most expensive place, but I thought bars make their $$$ off drinks, not really the food. Then again...I base that assumption on absolutely nothing so...moving on! Service: Our waitress was nice but a little saucy with us, which we didn't really pay any attention to.
