I loved this adorable coffee shop! I came here for the first time to study, and it was a really comfortable atmosphere. Soothing music, super friendly staff, and the coffee and bakery items were great! The only suggestion I have (and the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5), is a suggestion for them to switch to paper products or use recyclable products. After a national coffee chain (yeah, that one) gave me a caffeinated drink instead of decaf for what feels like the millionth time, I swore it off -- just in time for Grounded to open! The coffee is great - I've been twice in one week, despite it being a little out of my way - and the staff is super friendly. I wish there were more seating options (I work from home and would love to set up here for a change of scenery sometimes), but I'll take what I can get. This is a really adorable coffee shop in a great location. The decor and light coming in from the front window is fantastic. The staff is really friendly and I've been waiting for a locally owned coffee shop to pop up around here. Unfortunately, they miss their mark with their drinks. I've been four times and have had the cappuccino, iced latte, hot oat milk latte, and the chai tea latte. Overall, I would say the main issue is that they are too heavy with the milk in their drinks. The cappuccino and two lattes both mostly just tasted like milk with only a smidgen of espresso coming through. The cappuccino and hot oat milk latte were also served way to hot. This may be because it's a new coffee shop and the baristas haven't had a lot of practice yet, but the milk is being heated too hot. The iced latte was obviously not too hot, but again, too milk heavy. The problem with the chai tea latte was that it didn't have a good spice to it. It could be either that it was again too milk heavy, or that they need to adjust their spice blend. I'll still be trying this place again in the future in hopes that they can figure our their drinks. I haven't had their coffee yet, so I can't say anything about that. read more

Very disappointed in the ownership at Grounded Coffee Bar. I went to the New Lenox location to have a nice afternoon coffee date with my child and after I had ordered my food and beverages, I gave them a $20 gift certificate that I had received from a friend and the worker there said she was not for sure if they could accept my gift certificate because they were from the original owners. She reached out to the person in charge via phone and she said they could not accept those. I went ahead and paid $22 for my order but I do not feel this is right. Because my friend bought this and now that's just $20 wasted? So because they would not accept this you basically stole $20. When you take on a business it's your responsibility to honor those even if it's prior to previous owners. Example: Agave Azul in Manhattan took on new ownership and they honor previous gift cards that were purchased. And that's how you run a good business. This should've have been honored. And now because of this I do not want to come back and will tell others. This is not good business. Also the person in charge that was not there when this happened that told her worker they couldn't take it asked for my information but I have still not received a call. Very disappointed. read more

This coffee shop is the perfect little place ! The coffee is great! As well as the baked goods . Has seating to be able to get work done as well as outdoor seating to enjoy the weather . Only draw back is it is a bit pricey but personally it's worth it ! read more

Ordered two coffees and two bagels through Grubhub. The coffee was okay, one of the bagels was not the correct type (that's whatever, maybe they ran out of the type I requested), but the other bagel I received was moldy. Unfortunately I didn't really look at it before eating a bite, but the mold is obvious. It's insane that this even got to me, because they clearly sliced and toasted it beforehand--how could they not see the mold? This was my first time trying Grounded Coffee Bar, but I wouldn't try it again. I have no faith in the quality of their food or drinks. read more

Love this cute coffee bar! They have great coffees and tea! I have ordered a latte and love the taste with the oat milk. I have never tried oat milk until going to Grounded. It's so good! Always a friendly staff and I would rather purchase locally from a small business then Starbucks any day. The only drawback is that I wish they had more seating. It's a perfect hangout if you are looking for a good atmosphere. Plus Frankfort has a lot of amazing downtown shops!!! read more

This is such a cute coffee shop! I really appreciated the short menu! You don't need to spend several minutes reading and making decisions. Intelligentsia coffee is perfect as is and should not have much added to it beyond a splash of cream or sugar (if that's your thing). The staff was really friendly and I look forward to returning. I happened upon this coffee shop today, did not know it existed previously! Man I am glad that I found this place. There is just something special about a well-decorated, non-chain coffee shop that makes me so happy. I could not wait to try it. I ordered the cold brew, which was so tasty and the flavor was so bold it was perfect. My boyfriend got an iced vanilla latte which was good as well. I felt the prices were comparable to Starbucks, but the cold brew here was much better than Starbucks'. The inside was adorable and well decorated. Unfortunately seating is limited, I expect due to COVID19 regulations. I definitely would go here again and I look forward to it! read more

Happy the area got this small, independent coffee shop, but man, their pour-overs take forever. I think I waited almost 15 minutes for one without so much as a "Sorry this took awhile". I understand 5 minutes, but 15 is silly, especially when it wasn't super crowded. Hours are also a little weird, closing at 3pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. read more

To my disappointment they only serve it from big batch, commercial brewers and it just doesn't taste the same. Not nearly as good as Intelligentsia should be. I've recently made this my go to coffee place for my weekend morning coffee. It would be my everyday go to coffee but I leave for work at 4:30am and not many places are open at that time. I'm giving grounded coffee 5 stars without a second thought I've never had a single problem here. The employees are always super kind and hard working never had a long wait for my coffee. Also the atmosphere here is wonderful great for studying or doing work on your laptop or tablet and etc. they also have free WiFi which is a plus. Did I mention the coffee is the best coffee I've ever had by far! if your worried about the price it's cheaper than starbucks for the most part even when I leave a 20% tip it doesn't cost as much as my drink at Starbucks. read more
