We are so excited to support this new local coffee shop. It's really cozy and appealing inside and is such a nice alternative to Starbucks. Their large black coffee is only 16 ounces however and with tax was $3.69. A little too expensive for us to go daily - I hope other locals disagree and can visit often and take some of the market share away from Starbucks and Dunkin...downtown Frankfort needs more relevant small businesses, we're glad grounded is here and hope their pricing and product strategy works for our market! read more

I think with some changes this could be something really great for our downtown area, and I hope this reviews gets out to management. I would have liked to have reached out to someone directly, but the website is incomplete and doesn't have any area for suggestions. First, coffees should be served in real coffee cups for patrons dining in. I ordered a latte and it was served in a paper cup (I was not asked if my order was to go or for dining in). Next, coffee drink options are limited. I hope once the shop gets going they will expand their menu to feature signature coffee drinks and more variety in their offerings. As said before, the coffee is good, but it's not special enough to go out of my way to get on a frequent basis. Finally, the pastry display was lackluster with a small selection of items. Again, i'm hoping the will change as they become more established. There were limited offerings and the items in the case were not presented in a way that enticed me to want to purchase. It was 9:15 when I went, so maybe they were sold out of items, but I did not get that impression. Unfortunately like a few of the establishments in downtown Frankfort, I fear that Grounded is banking on their location as being their main selling point. I do think that a coffee shop is exactly what the downtown area needs, but I think they can do better and I hope they do. read more

Very good coffee& they always make it right which is nice. My only problem is that they only have a small menu hanging up with limited items and no prices. I found out by my next visit that there is a very small framed menu on the counter with more food items and drinks. There should be a bigger menu with prices. read more

Frankfort has been desperate for a cute and delicious coffee shop for a long time. This place feels like home. The cold brew is delicious and I've yet to try any of their food but I can imagine it's great. Definitely a family friendly place. The real coffee lovers know this is the best place around. Aside from the great tasting coffee, they have an extremely friendly staff that will be more than willing to help you with anything you need ( if you're a regular you know what I'm talking about), Aya pastries and DO RITE donuts that the owner drives to Chicago EVERY morning to go get and brings to the shop. I see that people are complaining on here that their drink was $5/6 ..but isn't that what everyone pays for when getting a typical latte at Starbucks anyways? This is REAL coffee people, not some burnt garbage! Also I know they have barista oat milk which is better quality than Starbucks anyways, so spend your buck here instead! And it's downtown Frankfort which if you plan on shopping around there then you should be prepared on how the prices are going to be. Bathroom is in a hallway a door over which they now have a code for so you don't need a key anymore! Bottom line is the place isn't Starbucks, so people need to stop expecting it to be like it. It's a real authentic coffee shop that you would find in Chicago which is exactly what they promote that they strive to be like. Support local businesses especially when the owner is as dedicated as Sheila who has built the place from the ground up and has came so incredibly far since first opening!!! read more
