    A Caramel Latte

I gotta say. This is one of the best coffee places I have been to. So much better than Starbucks. The service never disappoints, and the atmosphere is so chill. Coffee is delicious and I can't get enough of this place.

Grounded in a cute small coffee shop in downtown Willimantic! Staff is always friendly and warm. The hot caramel latte is worth a try! It's for sure my go-to drink at the shop! Bagel options are unique and delicious. You'll find some indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating options on the back patio area.

Hidden in a 1800s house in downtown Windham (Willimantic), Common Grounds is a serious coffee shop. They don't offer a little bit of everything to everyone. They are serious coffee drinkers offering just a handful of carefully curated light food. I met a client there the other day and ordered breakfast and an espresso. The espresso was provided with a side of seltzer. This is the classic preparation and it made a great espresso even better. The poached egg on a fresh bagel with tasty greens and a spicy spread was an excellent complement. The shop in a historic building is decorated in a modern fashion which contrasts the hewn floors. In the back, a sizeable yard includes several picnic benches to enjoy your coffee and breakfast. The frog watches over the shop and its patrons.

Delightful coffee spot with strong coffee and great food. The salmon bagel was one of the best I've ever had.

I was in Connecticut for a wedding and found this place when I was craving a morning coffee. They open early in the morning and have the oat milk as an option for an add cost. So that's a plus for anyone who is lactose sensitive or vegan. We also tried their bagel sandwiches which was great. I really liked their Prosciutto bagel sandwich.

Finally tried this local coffee place. It's such a cute building and I am so glad I went. The girls inside were so kind and helpful. They recommended a honey latte and their drip coffee. I got a small of each and they were so good. I highly recommend coming to this place. So glad it's close to my house and can g wait to go back! I miss having Starbucks nearby but this is even better.

I just moved to Willimantic and have already been here twice. I love this place. The first time I tried their (fairly large) croissants, which were so buttery and flaky. Definitely worth the cheat meal. They toasted it so it was nice and warm, which made the butter taste stand out even more. The next time, I had an everything bagel with prosciutto, cream cheese, greens, and pickled onions, which I thought was a really delicious combo. I wish the bagel was a little larger/denser, but it was still good nonetheless. The shop has a cute atmosphere and I love the outdoor sitting area. Definitely is a nice place for a Saturday coffee date.

I was craving an oat milk latte and this hipster place is the only place that could deliver ;) I stopped in for my first time over the winter and had a hot oat milk latte after never having seen oat milk on a coffee menu before. Try it. It's like a drink that is also giving you a hug. Since that visit I have only seen oat milk at 2 other places-- one in Philly and one in NYC. Willimantic is hip. I went back recently to do some work (hello free wifi!) and have that hug drink again, but this time iced. Served with a stainless steel straw, too, so you can feel like the environment AND your drink are hugging you! Also opted for the delicious sesame seed bagel sandwich, highly recommend. I'll be back-- especially when I need that oat milk latte.

On my pursuit of a cute coffee shop, I found this one not too far from campus. It's a cute, trendy, modern, yet rustic looking coffee shop. I mean there was a cowboy there.... can't get more rustic can you? I think because of how small it was, it's more of a quick stop rather than sit in place - for me at least. The iced coffee was overall pretty good, I was hoping for more matcha flavor in my drink but I definitely enjoyed it. I'd probably get the mocha iced coffee next time because my sister loved hers. The guy working there was nice and helpful with any questions about our orders. They use cute metal straws so for all my environmental peeps, that should be enough to make you stop by haha. It's definitely a place you should try if you haven't. The prices are typical coffee shop prices, pretty fair. Gave it 5 stars but it's more of a 4.5, will revisit.

What prompts me to write a bad review is their "Black Lives Matter" banner where you can't fail to miss it AFTER you have given them your money. That organization is disgraced for a lot of reasons including embellishment, fraud but its their central message that is rotten to the core. The BLM -- and those who support the BLM -- say that some lives are more important than others. That isn't true. They also imply that the lives of police officers are worth nothing at all. ALL LIVES MATTER! These banners with the fists in the air are implying that violence against police officers is OK. They are saying that any officers (even minority officers) who shoot in self defense against a minority suspect is racist. I guess even the Black Cops are supporters of this white supremacy movement that we hear so much talked about but see zero evidence of.

This reminded me of a smoothie I got in the Dominican Republic- so FRESH & so delicious. The place is small- but ADORABLE! It was IMMACULATE in terms of cleanliness. I didn't see a speck of dust anywhere and the toppings for ice cream- appeared out of a magazine- it looked that picture perfect. They have a little swing against a wall- with a neon sign that says the name of the establishment. It appeared functional- but I didn't want to break it- if it wasn't so I didn't try it. Lol. Service was great! Friendly and personable staff and my smoothie came right out. It took under 4 minutes for me to get this delicious smoothie!! Good doughnuts, basic toppings, great owner…read more Came here because we knew the owner from a local pizza spot that always looked after us when we would stop by. He decided to branch out and make a tiny donut shop, so we wanted to swing by and give him a try. The shop is small, designed more for your pick up and go crowd. The signage is a little small, so you will need to know where to go to find it. The selection of donuts is akin to specialty cookie shops. They keep a standard selection of doughnuts on demand but also rotate out a few types to keep things fresh. You order your doughnuts with the cashier, and then get to watch your doughnuts get dipped and packed right in front of you. We got a dozen of these little doughnuts. Took our pics then dug in. As a doughnut, they are good. They are a cake doughnut with a little vanilla in the batter to give it a mellow buttery floral flavor note. Not majorly noticeable, but just enough to make it better than just straight up cake. The best bite was the strawberry shortcake. Fresh strawberries with a light whipped cream gives that flavor profile one would expect from a very solid strawberry shortcake. The rest were of varying states of okay for the toppings. The maple bacon was good, the local maple glaze was very maple forward and tasty. The bacon crumbles needed to be cooked more. They were a little too soft and chewy for that style of doughnut. The doughnuts with chocolate syrup needs a better chocolate syrup. Would probably replace with a chocolate drizzle instead. Would hold up better if not eaten immediately. Some of the glazes were not made in house, and were a bit too strong for some of the other toppings on them. They will need to figure out a way to tweak these glazes to not be overpowering. As a destination spot I would expect an elevated product, and this shop is not set up to be elevated just yet. It's set up to be a local morning doughnut place, which is valid but will need to fight to get people to see them. There's some promise to this business idea. They will need to commit to either a boutique tiny doughnut shop or a local pick up and on demand delivery spot. Either one could work, but they need to find their footing first. For those interested in trying this place, it's a good spot for a little sweet treat. Stick to the non-chocolate flavors, get enough to share, and enjoy!

These small freshly made doughnuts are fun and creative. With gluten-free, and made-to-order options the staff can really accommodate every palette. Great for families and the college crowd. While the toppings may not be gourmet in quality - they are not trying to be. I am very interested in seeing where this business goes. There are so many options and directions for the owner to go with this concept. Excited to see the future!!
