Came here on a Monday morning a little before 9 am and there was a line. It wasn't too bad. And honestly, it's worth it. The line was out the door, but that's because its kind of a smaller line space. When I got to the front, there were 2 people taking orders, so they're trying to keep the line moving. I ordered the bowtie croissant that had blackberry jam inside and an ebbieoche. Along with an espresso for my husband and a blueberry lemonade for me. Once I got my items, I went outside to sit on their front porch/patio area with my husband and pup. The blueberry lemonade was really good. Very sweet. It had like bits of blueberry in it as well. And it js MASSIVE. Kind of a steal. The bowtie croissant was SO good. They make sure its filled to the brim with jam. And it was good jam. The croissant itself was fantastic. It was a little thicker to make sure the jam didn't immediately spill out, and that was genuis. I loved it. It was exactly the top of croissant I wanted with jam. The ebbieoche was delicious. Came here on a Saturday morning at 9:30 AM and waited 45 minutes in line. Ultimately, I was pretty underwhelmed given the craze. A positive is that they had live music while you wait in line, which was cute and charming. We were able to stand in the shade, and there was ample seating. Our savory dish, the mushroom and goat cheese quiche, was delicious flavor wise. The negative is that, contrary to reviews, the line moved SO slowly. The line wasn't actually that long, it just took forever. Second negative was the texture of the pastries wasn't very good. The butterfly brioche croissant was, dare I say, downright bad. It wasn't sweet, but wasn't savory, and there was barely any filling so you mostly had to bite through thick layers of flavorless brioche. The quiche was good flavor wise but crumbled apart and didn't retain its shape at all. The coffee is drinkable, not much more. It came with heirloom tomato, pickled red onion, capers, chive cream cheese, and lettuce on an everything croissant. This was very good. The fresh tomatoes and pickled red onions were the key here. The croissant was not overly seasoned, which was nice. The croissant itself was flaky and buttery. I also felt like the lettuce was not even needed here. The chive cream cheese was a nice compliment. You pay a flat rate for the food where it is a buffet style and you get the option to choose from a full breakfast (hot meal). We started off at the pastry bar, I enjoyed the guava and cheese danishes & a mini chocolate croissant. Their spinach and cheese danish was also so tasty!! Then made our way through the charcuterie bar where there was an assortment of fine cheeses and meats, as well as the option for a fruit parfait which my friend really enjoyed. Sift Bake Shop is one of the highlights when coming to downtown Mystic. It's easy to find off of the main road with street or lot parking nearby. Nice looking bake shop with all kinds of sweet and savory items to choose from. They also offer a good amount of coffee or tea drinks too. It was tough to choose but we decided to have a pastry and a coffee to dine in and take a few items back to try later. We got the Pecan Sticky Bun to try inside and take home the Apple Turnover and a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie. The pecan sticky bun was delicious, good sized and perfect to share. Would get this again when back. Next day we had the Apple Turnover and choco chip cookie, both were equally delicious and nicely made. You can tell they make the classic pastries well! Staff was really nice, they are detailed if you want items warmed up, dine in for some or take some items home. They will pack all that up for you. If I recall correctly, prices seem to be what I thought it would be. Dining area is good sized, we came in when it was busy so we didn't sit in the main area, but we did find plenty of room in their heated patio area. It's enclosed so it's not really like you are sitting outside in the bitter cold. Overall, a great bakery and a spot not to be missed when visiting the area. read more

I purchased their mini vanilla cake a lemon tart and something called a la cherry. I have had their lemon tarts in the past with the merengue torched top. a classic. I don't know who took this spin of creative license to destroy this tart !!! the crust tastless the artificial domed yellow cream and whatever that white decorative cream tasted of Vaseline. The la cherry was extremely sweet .my sister who loves sugar had a hard time even with this one, and the vanilla cake the best part of that was the texture of the cake and the ball of artistic white chocolate on top. the flavor of the cake itself, horrible. Please go back to whatever you were doing prior. Because these colorful highly decorated cakes/pastries look great,but taste horrendous. We ordered 4 chocolate croissants, 2 lemon scones, 2 chicken salad croissants, 2 yogurt parfait, 1 milk chocolate hazelnut, and 4 macarons (1 yuzu, 1 pistachio, 2 of the pink/purple one for the kids). The lemon scones were hard on the outside and soft on the inside, my whole family loved it. The chocolate croissants were good but not as good as the lemon scones. The chicken salad croissant was served on an everything croissant and OMG that is some delicious croissant. My wife and I regret not buying a ton of everything croissants and freezing them for future meals, which is something we will definitely do in the future. The yogurt parfait was creamy, thick, and filling. Although it was good, I dont know if I would order that again as we couldnt finish it. The milk chocolate hazelnut was so pretty that I didn't want to eat it. We finally did, and my kids and I loved it. My wife thought it was too sweet. Lastly the macarons, my wife ate the yuzu and said it was the perfect balance. She said it was not too sweet and would order it again when we return to Sift Bake Shop. We went for breakfast and dessert for lunch. Coffee was great they had interesting syrups they made we got the Paris caramel. The pastry is so light and flaky on both the quiche and croissants. I don't find many rhubarb breakfast items and it was excellent. They were very fast and we got there around 9:30 stood in a short line by 10 it was out the door onto the sidewalk. I went to your Watch Hill location, paid nearly $10 for a 20-ounce latte, and left with a cup that was barely half full. Not only was it essentially a 10-ounce latte, it was one of the worst-tasting lattes I've had. I waited about 30 minutes just to order, then another 10 minutes for the drink, only to get home and realize I'd paid premium prices for an inferior product. Then, after I shared my experience on my own personal Facebook page, the owners had the audacity to suggest that I shouldn't have posted about it and should have simply driven back to have it remade. No. That's not how good customer service works. Customers shouldn't have to spend another hour of their day driving back, waiting in line again, and fixing a mistake that wasn't theirs. The expectation should be that the order is made correctly the first time especially when you're charging premium prices. In my opinion, this business is overpriced, overrated, and more interested in managing criticism than addressing the underlying problem. If you charge premium prices, expect premium expectations and when you don't meet them, expect customers to talk about it. That's part of doing business. read more

While my eyes, were fully fed & satisfied, the tastes of each was ok for my tongue. The other pastries, again beautiful & looked decadent, but didn't give me, wow! This could be due to how much the bakery was hyped up, so my expectations were high. She told me that the "Opera Cake" was an award-winning dessert of theirs. So of course, I got it. It is their take on Tiramisu. And while I enjoyed it, I thought, "Hm, this isn't like crazy unique." I got a blueberry muffin for breakfast the next day, which was awesome! And an oat, sea salt and chocolate chip cookie for a later time. The cookie was probably the best of all three things that I got. It was all good enough that I would go back. Everything looks delicious it is hard to choose. i decided to get a hot chocolate, a savory spinach and artichoke croissant and a sweet white chocolate peppermint croissant. I enjoyed everything. They heated up the spinach and artichoke croissant and it was really good. I liked the cheese. The sweet croissant was also good but it had a little too much filling inside.
