So I came here...and 'checked in' to get a free upgrade on my drink...went from a regular sized mocha chiller to size GIGANTIC. PROS: 1. Free wifi...password is 'groundsforcoffee' 2. Second floor balcony is cute 3. Delicious mocha chiller 4. Cute atmosphere CONS: 1. Closes at 8pm 2. Hard to find power outlets on the ground floor 3. Require key to go to the bathroom 4. This is the second location I've tried, with the Clearfield location the first (that location is just a drive through...which I walked through, and they were very accommodating). The Ogden location was super cute and had great coffee. I'd give 5 stars except our order wasn't exactly what we were told it would be. There was only one girl at the counter doing both cashiering and coffee making, and I don't think we were charged for what we didn't get. I have clients in the area and stop at this Grounds for Coffee every morning I'm in town. The staff is friendly, the coffee's delicious, and they always remember me and my order, even if it's been awhile. This is the only Grounds that's also half-restaurant, so there's usually an interesting group of people hanging around to chat with. I also used to go to the bikram yoga upstairs, so I basically lived in this building. Make sure to try the yummy vegan cookies. read more

Plenty of cutely mismatched, clean, and comfy seating choices, unlike some other small coffee houses where the furniture seems to be a result of dumpster diving. I have come here a lot in the few months I have lived here. I filled up my punch card once and look forward to doing so again. One of the most notable aspects of this location is actually the baristas. They are so nice! It must be a requirement because they are all very charismatic and kind. The atmosphere is nice and the wifi ks pretty good. I have done homework here on multiple occasions. Also, it's a good people watching location. You can sit in the window area! I like chai - they serve Oregon Chai, which is pretty standard and nothing special, BUT in the summer I love to ask for a Chai Chiller (frozen, blended Chai) - it is out of this world amazing. I'm not sure why I chose to go to this particular coffee shop over the several other choices in the area, but I totally made the best choice. During the 48 hours I found myself in Ogden I made 3 trips to Grounds for Coffee--first time just for coffee, second time for a snack, and third time for coffee and breakfast. The only thing better than the espresso is the staff, who are extremely friendly and very accommodating. I had some kind of specific requests for the oatmeal I ordered and the barista was not only able to hook me up, but did so happily. Definitely not a too cool for school establishment. My only regret is that I probably won't be back anytime soon and won't get to learn the baristas' names. read more

Honestly, this location of Grounds for Coffee sucks -- don't come here if you have a choice. Be prepared to wait - a long time - in line before you can even place your order during peak times. The staff does their best to serve customers but the way it is set up, it is extremely slow, and when management has literally only one person on a busy day making drinks and taking orders -- it is hopeless. The bathrooms are disgusting and in bad repair. Soap dispenser ripped from wall, broken tiles everywhere, barely any paper, and a grimly looking floor from when the toilets overflow. The menu board doesn't even display the correct prices. The prices apparently changed in August of 2017, but now well over six months later, the managers haven't been bothered to update the prices, other than leave a small, easy to miss, message about the new prices. There is an upstairs seating area that has a carpet that looks like it is barely ever vacuumed -- often lots of leftover crumbs ect. The coffee scene is becoming a lot more competitive in Ogden recently with new cafes opening up around downtown. There is no reason to come to Grounds for Coffee in the shabby, ghetto state it is being run. The Grounds for Coffee on Harrison Blvd. is nicer and better run. read more

I was in there a few days ago and a an older gentleman walked in, clearly exhausted from the 95 degree weather, and asked if he may have a cup of water. The boy behind the counter DENIED him. The older gentleman stated that he was 65 YEARS OLD and a LEUKEMIA SURVIVOR and is a regular customer there. Now privy to the new information, the portly child behind the counter further denied him WATER and stated he was going to call the police on him.... For what? This poor, thirsty, cancer survivor simply wanted water, and this disturbed little boy behind the counter denied him this human right on a dry 95 degree day in Utah. SHAME! read more

This is a totally chill little coffee shop that I always seem to wind up in whenever I visit Ogden with my hubby (about once a year). The plan is he drops me off on 25th Street and then goes out to make calls on his customers, and I roam around and end up spending most of my time right here, sipping on some good coffee and relaxing either upstairs or downstairs.
