I started going here for my girls and was so happy with Mike. When I realized they were taking adults I was thrilled! I came from a doctor that performed so many unneeded tests and diagnosed me wrong that I felt I finally was in good hands. I was wrong! I showed her the tests that had been done and asked for her to see if she could help me any other diagnoses. She ended up performing the same tests without my approval and it cost me over 400$! ......I contacted her and she told me to take it up with the insurance. And that she was sorry. That's it. I had previously paid over 200$ for the same tests. I was so.let down. The office provided ABSOLUTELY no help to resolve it. Just found his place a few weeks back while looking for a more holistic care provider from my new little girl. I'm really not OK with giving my baby a bunch of vaccines at once and he was ok with it. We got her first shots today and she's doing great! From the moment we met with Mike the first time I knew he was the type of provider I was looking for. He takes his time during your appointment and has a great personality. My little girl had had pretty bad cradle cap on her face and he's made himself available via phone and email. I love being able to get ahold of someone who can tell me if I should be worried or not. I am here to share my very short lived experience with GHT. I live in Fullerton so the drive to Long Beach is a decent one but it was worth it for my baby to go to a holistic and naturopathic pediatrician, although I have to say they are not holistic or naturopathic at all. The first appointment I had gone to was his 2 month check up where I was made aware of the vaccines she recommended and I let her (Nancy) know that we did not plan on it yet, she then felt the need to inform me if he were to get some of these things he would die, she listed them off but I wasn't paying to much attention because I was in shock that someone would tell me that my first time meeting them. My next appointment would've been his 4 month check up but I canceled it after getting a text to confirm in which they said they required anyone over 2 to where a mask, that's their choice that's not required by OSHA or the CDC so it is their own personal decision to mask anyone over 2 and that is not okay with me and doesn't sound one bit like a holistic environment. At that time I called and let them know that we would not be returning and the lady said okay and that was it. The definition of Naturopathy or naturopathic medicine is "a form of alternative medicine. A wide array of pseudoscientific practices branded as "natural", "non-invasive", or promoting "self-healing" are employed by its practitioners, who are known as naturopaths" So tell me why are they promoting your little one getting the flu shot by saying, "The key to preventing cold and flu is to boost your immunity and get your flu shot." Does that sound like "self healing" to you cause it most certainly does not to me. I can whole heartedly say the most "holistic and naturopathic" thing they do there is use diffusers. read more

My daughter and I went here today and had an amazing experience. I have a little bit of anxiety about seeing doctors (after lots and lots of bad experiences), so even though I had heard great things about this practice I was pretty nervous at the start. My nerves melted away as soon as we walked through the door. We were greeted by a friendly face who seemed genuinely happy to check us in. The nurse who took our vitals was awesome and thorough and the nurse practitioner we saw was so knowledgeable and personable. She answered all of my questions and really took her time with us. Love them! As a mother I simply love this establishment. We switched over to them recently and our toddler adores going to the dr! He has had his fair share of dr visits due to being a NICU baby, and I have to say I have never seen him so comfortable as I have seen him here. I am very glad to have switched him over to this place, if he is sick and i tell him we are going to the dr he is excited to go, everyone goes above and beyond to ensure the greatest of quality. Checkups are beyond fun here they really understand children and make it such a great environment for them to be in. For a healthcare establishment my son sure does extremely well during checkups, in the waiting area etc. Appointments are taken in promptly and it is clean, has great toys for the little ones to play with and the staff is amazing. I was really excited and looking forward to mike being my sons pediatrician. Went in for the first time last month. Loved the office setting. Everyone is nice and welcoming. But unfortunately I won't be going back. I'm a huge support of breast feeding over the age of 1 and nursing for comfort at night. Mike insisted we stopped nursing because we as adults do not wake up at night to eat. That's a really odd thing for a pediatric provider to say. Adults aren't growing physically or developmentally the way babies and children are, just for starters... Also said they can become obese. Now as for night nursing, night nursing is absolutely not going to cause obesity. I think a lot of doctors, even breastfeeding supportive ones will say that BASED ON NIGHT TIME FORMULA FEEDING. Breastfeeding supportive does not equal breastfeeding knowledgeable. Taking my son else where they are 100% supportive of our BF Journey. By the way friends of mine recommended me this place and he has never told them anything about nursing their child who is over 2years? all my friends nurse at night as well. read more

We have taken our four week old here twice and been more than pleased both times. Beautiful space, helpful and friendly staff, knowledgeable doctors. You feel they want you to be there and your baby is their sole focus while you are. Their app and multiple ways of communication are key to making any newborn trials a breeze to address. My son recently had a virus with an irritated throat and goopy eyes, but still full of energy. It lasted over a week so I took him to his pediatrician (not at Growing Healthy Together). She basically said "hmm I'm not sure exactly what's going on but since his ears are red and he has the other symptoms, let's give him an antibiotic. Also, bring him back in 2 weeks and we'll give him the flu shot". Say what?? No. I decided to buckle up and drive the 30 minutes to Growing Healthy Together for a second opinion. They'd been on our radar for a long time because they're a vaccine friendly practice. We met with Nancy, who was sweet as can be. She swabbed my son's throat and it came back negative for strep. She noted his ears were red but not from an infection, but because of his incoming 2-year molars!!! She said an antibiotic most likely wouldn't help and to wait it out. She gave a few recommendations for OTC items that would help relieve his symptoms, including salty bone broth (short term) to dry up his throat. HALLELUJAH - finally a health care practitioner that made sense! My son got better in a week without any antibiotics and I'm so grateful! We're never going back to that old practice. I just wish we would have switched to GHT sooner! read more

Don't come here for eczema if you've tried every cream and steroid out there. I payed $100 for a consult thinking let's take the "holistic" approach. I broke out all my creams and ointments and they realized there was nothing they could offer me that I didn't already know/tried. They referred me to a Chinese medicine doctor so we'll see how that goes I guess. Waste of $100 and my time as if I'm not going crazy enough and added more money down the drain to this curse they call eczema. I took my 11 year old daughter in for a back to school physical exam. We are preparing for the coming year and possible sports team try out and participation. I called Mike in mid August and he was able to make an appointment for the following week. Awesome. I called other doctors in the area and no appointments were available until mid September or October. The visit to the office was amazing. We walked inside and were greeted kindly by Mike and his daughter. After a quick introduction and payment we were ushered into the exam room. So cool, no waiting, no cramped waiting room frustration, he actually kept the appointment on time and spent good quality time with us and conducted a complete examination, explaining the process as he went along. Mike was happy to answer questions and engage in pleasant conversation as he answered my questions. I consider my family fortunate to have found this medical practice. We are blessed to have met Mike and know that medical practitioners like him exist in this fast paced,corporate dominated medical industry.We are edified by his caring manner, I felt like we were truly cared for and listened to in an human way. I am so happy I found this clinic, it is truly a godsend. They are extremely considerate of the parents' preferences for vaccines as well as the comfort of the child during the exam. I was able to hold my baby the whole time during the well child visit and when it was time for her to receive two shots, two nurses came in and administered them simultaneously so that she didn't have to endure any unnecessary stress. They were also extremely fast! The shots were over in the blink of an eye, which is completely different from my experiences at other doctor's offices. I was worried beforehand that she would cry hysterically after the shots, but she wasn't even aware anything had happened lol. In a nutshell, these people are kind, considerate, very supportive and easy to talk to. The office itself was calm, quiet, brightly lit, aesthetically pleasing and very clean. My expectations are high and this entire practice never fails to provide my son with excellent, friendly care. Their approach has made going to the doctor a positive experience. Our daughter has been a patient at GHT for the last 3 years. This is the pediatric practice that she has grown up in and we wouldn't dream of taking her anywhere else. Our daughter loves her check-ups and isn't afraid to get her shots. That's largely because the providers take the time to teach her while they perform the check-up and the medical assistants are always very nice to her. Mike not only talked to me over the phone at length about what was going on with my son, he then came in Saturday morning and spent over an hour with us!! My son was suffering from a cold and a pretty bad cut in his ear (caused by his previous pediatrician just two days before we met Mike) and he was very wary of Mike, especially when it came time to look in his ears. Mike took his time and never made me feel rushed our embarrassed that my son was nervous about him! My son quickly warmed up to him, and I can't stop raving about Mike's bedside manner!!
