Terrible customer service! And I agree with the other reviewer, when you go in, they do not acknowledge you for a long time, which really comes across as rude. We're new home owners in the area and I stopped in during the fall and talked with Andrew about creating a very special arrangement for my foyer. He seemed helpful and said to come back when I was ready to move forward with the project. I liked the idea of patronizing a local business. So, I called the first week of February to get going, realizing it may not be complete until late in the month. He said he was busy with Valentine's Day and that I should come in the following week on a specific day when he would be through the holiday and back in the shop. I didn't want to wait a week to begin, but agreed. I asked if there was a certain time I should come in on that day; he stated, no, that he is always there. I went in on the day he requested and discovered that he had taken the day off. I looked around at plants and containers with the women who was working, but she advised that I really needed to meet with Andrew, apologized for him not being there as scheduled, took my info, and said he would call me. She also stated that he is usually in until 2:00. Well, I waited for the call, which never came, so I went in to the shop again to meet with him specifically coming in before 2:00. He had left early she said, this time apologizing that he hadn't called after the last no show. She said to call next time before I come in to ensure he is there. I couple days later I called in the morning to let them know I was coming in to get moving on this project. I was told Andrew was out to lunch and would be back in 30 minutes. I said I would come in then, when he returned. The women stated that I shouldn't come in, but instead he would call me when he returned. Over an hour passed, she called back rather than him, said that he had come in early that day and decided to go home at 1:00, maybe I could come in tomorrow! At this point, I've wasted a month trying to do business with this shop and I am done. Their service was frustrating, insulting, disrespectful and just plain rude. I do not recommend Growing Wild to anyone and I look forward to building a relationship with a business that values their customers. read more

My husband and I walked in here one day thinking for sure they would be way out of our price range for our wedding. We explained that we were on a budget- and Andrew worked his magic. The arrangements they came up with were absolutely breathtaking. They also worked with us to help educate us about which flowers could be sacrificed to save on costs but not sacrifice the overall look. I drove all the way down to Growing Wild where I bought a bamboo plant a few years ago. I remember explicitly them telling me I could bring it back anytime and they would clean it out and repot it. So I go in and the woman working tells me "oh no we don't do that anymore. It's too much work. ". Seriously super disappointing. And she stands there and watches me hold the big box I brought in with and doesn't offer to help or to put it down. Come on Lady! Why would I be a loyal customer? You really need to differentiate yourselves and customer service and customer experience is the name of the game. And........ there was no one in the shop and she wasn't busy at all. Booooo Growing Wild! I won't be back. Disappointing. The least you all could do is honor your word from when I originally purchased and follow through. read more

I ordered a boutonnière for my daughter and in my haste to get her ready for her formal, I forgot to pick it up! I love their new website. I recently ordered a Soft Fall Wreath to spice up our home for the Halloween/Fall season. Even though we live in sunny Manhattan Beach, I miss seeing the leaves fall off the trees. This wreath helps me recapture my childhood raking leaves in the Midwest. The second item I purchased from the website was my staple Radiant Beauty Collection. Radiant Beauty instantly brightens up my mood and is a nice centerpiece for the island in our kitchen. I described my dad, mentioned his love for the ocean, and gave them an idea of what I wanted. 9/30/10 My boss, PJ Murphy at Platinum Capital in Manhattan Beach has been using Growing Wild for years!!! I have been talking to the staff almost every day and finally had the opportunity to come in to the store today and met the staff. I can't say enough how happy we are with their service. Holly, Derick and the rest of the staff were sensational! They have been going out of their way getting the flowers to be delivered on time at the exact address (very reliable). The flowers looked like it was worked on for hours with a special care and a delicate touched. Their store was impressive and looking so lovely. My experience with this shop is very similar to Mary C. I rarely experience any shop that wants to do business being so icy cold, rude and dismissive. The owner seems so afraid someone will "steal" their ideas without paying for them that she misses out on real sales opportunities. I moved in within their block, let them know I was a neighbor and was looking forward to having a good working relationship with a local business. I called them wanting a smaller arrangement to be delivered in Manhattan Beach, and they wanted over $80 for it. Fantastic Flowers! Very classy floral shop. I have been going to this flower shop for years and they do great work. They have a really friendly staff with helpful advice.My favorite arrangement is from the Mindful Intention Collection called the Joyous Arrangement. The shop is really cute, in the heart of Manhattan Beach, 2 blocks from the beach. Next time you are near Manhattan Beach Pier, definitely stop by the shop to see all the arrangements, wreaths, and unique seasonal items they have to offer. I had a bad experience with this place and posted about it here on yelp. In trying to make things right with them, they actually made it worse. The manager at Growing Wild (while I was trying to explain the situation), came out and told me my comment on Yelp was inappropriate....hmmmmmm really? I think you selling someone else's property without their approval is inappropriate and then blaming them for posting it on YELP is even more inappropriate!!! I was simply stating the facts, and almost couldn't believe what he said. Let me articulate. Inappropriate yelping would be attacking how someone looks, their race, gender etc, swearing, or posting something that is offensive. Simply stating and letting people in this world know what they experienced at a company is not inappropriate, it is informative. This is by far the best florist in Manhattan Beach. They worked with me when I wanted to have special arrangements done over the years. I recently had several silk arrangements done and was so happy that I had them design them for me vs. trying it on my own. From the very start I should have been wary, called approximately 10 times before I was able to reach anyone at the store. The staff who answered the phone was apologetic and took my order for an orchid to be delivered the following day for a birthday. The flowers were never delivered, despite the fact the delivery address is approximately a mile away. The next day I called the store and spoke to the same staff member who took my order. She had no idea what happened or why it was not delivered. For flower store who advertises as a Bloomnation partner, this is pretty disappointing although not as disappointed as my girlfriend who did not receive flowers on her birthday. This place ROCKS! I have to admit, I was a little hesitant on walking into this place at first because it looked expensive. I was pleasantly surprised that there were a variety of arrangements and gifts depending on your budget. So, I've been a loyal customer for the past 4 years. Growing Wild consistently exceeds my expectations. My primary reasons for going to Growing Wild are that it's close to my office - but more importantly they design arrangements that are far more sophisticated than I can find in most other florists. I expect to pay a little more for that taste level and quality but recently my expectations have even been exceed on price! I ordered three small "inexpensive" arrangements for the support people in my office and what was delivered was out of this world. They looked far more expensive than I expected and each of the three arrangements were very different, so each recipient felt special.
