Bartenders are always great here!. It does get really busy as the night goes on. But no complaints.great bar !service is always excellent!!

Going to Growlers while I'm waiting for my table to be ready at Front Street Brewery is one of my favorite pastimes. The entrance is hard to find your first time there, because it is located in a basement. It has a chill vibe and is very spacious. Their draft selection isn't amazing, but they have a fair number of bottled domestics. They do standard mixed drinks, but this isn't the place to go if you're looking for craft cocktails. The service at the bar has been very speedy, though I'm usually there during off-hours. One time I came here during a Bloody Mary bar crawl and the drink I got was good, not great. The reason I like to pop in here is that they have Skee-Ball and pool. When I'm there in the early evening, the games are usually available to use.

I feel like a lot of locals may be judging me for this but I think Growlers is a pretty rad spot and usually my go-to downtown joint, at the end of a night out. First of all, it's "underground" which I know is common here but I'm still amazed by. Second, they've got games! Bring your quarters because they've got a pool, skee-ball and foosball table here, folks! The bar is in the center of the venue, usually with two bartenders roaming the sides and people crowded on top of each to get their attention... It's kind of hard to get a drink quickly here, at least after 10pm on a weekend. Their drinks are typical bar beers, cocktails and shots, though I've heard they do special creations for certain events. The bar itself doesn't have flashing neon lights or anything amazing but it's got spirit. The walls are brick, there's a since of American pride, some man-cave style decor and did I mention it's "underground?" Honestly, I can't explain why I like this place so much, it's kind of your average dive bar, but I always have a good time so why shouldn't you? Oh, and there's no cover charge, from what I've experienced! It's located on the main strip of downtown, Front St. with free street parking on the side streets and paid parking in garages a couple blocks over. Give it a shot, see what you think!

I was not really into the vibe of this place. It was a underground bar that I believe used to be Ortin's poolroom which I did like. Bartender was good but this wasn't my scene. All different kinds of people and a creepy looking stairway leading down.

Overcharged. I guess the guy behind the bar decided to double our tab for his tip. Definitely wouldn't go back.

We started walking around and my wonderful wife suggested Copper Penny. Absolutely! There was a short wait for a table, but we didn't mind. The inside is almost like we remember it. We did notice the menu is a lot smaller. The last time we dined here was around ten years ago. Definitely plenty of options. We went with the onion ring appetizer, Cobb salad, and the BBQ Burger. The atmosphere of Copper Penny is the same. Definitely missed this place. After a short wait our food was brought out. Everything was delicious. This is just an update, but we still love Copper Penny and will continue to return.

Very good and the fries as well. 3. Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich was very bland and had an excessive amount of spinach. Even the Au Jus couldn't rescue this sandwich. 4. The famous onion rings. Well they must of ran out of seasoning because these were more flour than flavor. Very doughy with no spices. Not worth the $9 * The alcohol mix drinks are pretty good. Definitely taste the flavor of each. Will give you a good kick.

Two staff members, juggling orders with grace, kept the taps moving and the vibe relaxed. We had the Oatmeal Porter (dark, smooth, layered with chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel) And the Brook's Mulberry Lemonade (a blend of house-made lemonade and beer, fermented with mulberries hand-picked from Brook's garden). Both were super delicious. Flytrap Brewing sits tucked in a quiet Wilmington neighborhood, and it feels like it belongs there. The server was friendly, hospitable, had great recommendations, and was happy to let me try a few beers before I decided what I liked. The free popcorn was a nice touch too. It's a bit off the beaten path, but not a long walk from the River Walk or Main Street at all. I did miss the bigger fly traps in the back, and the ones inside were smaller (and a different kind) than I was expecting. Still, this place has a really cool, chill, and fun vibe. Highly, highly recommend.
