This is a gluten free review. Grub Burger Bar is a good find in BCS. The burgers are delicious! They are owned by Hopdoddy's so they take similar precautions with food sensitivities. They use a dedicated fryer so you can enjoy the fries too. (And their buns hold together better than Hop's.) The last time we went it was over 100 degrees in August. So a long time ago, I went into the restaurant and they had the best Greek chicken sandwich. Well, they don't have that on the menu anymore which makes me very sad lol. But I've recently DoorDash the Wagyu burger. I cannot tell you how amazing it is. I have also ordered the brussels sprouts which are perfection. And the barbecue mac & cheese. I really like this place, and I've only scratched the surface. The Cuban Burger was worth every penny, but I'm pretty sure I'll like some of their other burgers even more. The fries were fine, but not worth the north-of-five-bucks price. Spiked shakes? I'm having one next time for sure! Was within walking distance of my hotel and they do just meat patties upon request so I walked on over at 6:30 pm. It was not crowded and service was quick. Ordered three 8 oz meat patties and a drink. Total was $15 before tax. Will have to see if these are really 1/2 pound each. Inside was nice and some music I did not recognize playing at a good volume. It was also clean and well lit. They also have a bar that I did not get anything from so I cannot evaluate. The burger patties were juicy and flavorful. They did appear to be 1/2 pound and three was just enough. I would visit here again. read more

Excellent. Hamburger as delicious - my husband kept that so it must be true! I had a black bean burger on gluten-free bun. It was tasty but a tad salty for me, but I enjoyed it! French fries were thin and crispy. Great. Food was made to order. You walk up to place order and then you are assigned a table. We found that interesting but not off putting. They have a bar with beer on tap so that was a plus. Iced tea was good (bar has lemons and you'll need to ask if want thrmand they have typical fountain drinks. Biggest mistake of this place is they should have asked me if I really wanted two patties. OMG! See the picture. If i had known, I would have just done the single. I actually removed one of the patties and saved it for later. The burger was delicious. Probably because TX beef. There was a Wagyu burger that was twice the price. If you are here in TX, don't bother with that, since it is all marketing and the standard burger using TX beef is succulent. I will be back to this place every night I am here. read more

There where quite a few things that went wrong with my visit to "Grub Burger Bar". The most alarming issue that we noticed was the restaurant was empty at 5:00 on a Saturday. That should have earned us about what we would encounter. We ordered and got our food, other reviews gave the impression the meals having good portions but they were wrong. The chicken on the chicken sandwich was about as thin as one of their fries, and was tasteless. The fries were quite possible the saddest thing I've ever seen. They looked like McDonald's fries if you let them rot outside for a few days. On our way out we saw a bug in the building and that was the most appatizing thing I saw during our stay. A nice flour tortilla that is stuffed with soft scrambled eggs, small diced potatoes, a high quality chorizo that isn't greasy, diced bacon and a few onions that don't overwhelm the other well proportioned ingredients. It's about 3" to 4" in diameter. Comes with a creamy red sauce and the chile cheese dip. Some crispy tortilla chips are included. You'll probably take half of it home. It's huge. The burgers kick ass too & the drinks are stout. My wife loves the ice cream drinks at the full bar. read more

Everything!!! We literally were trying to find a quick bite for our son who was participating in a basketball tournament. We were trying to stay away from greasy foods as well. When we got there we found something for us as parents, but my son was disinterested in the menu. Then DAWN (manager) swooped in and saved the day. She literally went to the back and came out with the perfect spread of grilled chicken breast, sliced oranges, boiled eggs, and a leafy salad. It was perfect and my son tore it up!!! They were the sweetest people ever and I brought a dog from the shelter to eat and they welcomed her and brought her treats, water, and pet her and we felt so welcome here. Had gone in with a burger in mind, that is until I pulled the door handle and saw the salmon burger pictured. Ordered it instead of a burger, fries to go with and because it was happy hour I ordered chicken wings boneless I think (my son ate) and onion rings $5 each. It was a little messy and part of my bun got soggy and had to take off. Salmon itself wasn't super flavorful with seasoning, but great to have a salmon option when wanting a healthy option. I had my pickled onions on the side. Fries were great and tried the onion rings in the air fryer when I got home-delicious! Manager/owner said was originally on the menu pre COVID, but then added back as a temporary item, but it has been so popular that it's still available (not on the menu though). The first time I was here I ordered the Mac 'N' Cheeseburger, which is exactly what it sounds like - mac & cheese, cheese sauce, & bacon on a burger. Not the best burger in college station. Having said that, there were two factors that could be influencing my opinion. I went there on National Cheeseburger day (9/18), so maybe the burger wasn't as good as it usually is. Secondly, I got the basic Front Porch burger. They had a national cheeseburger day deal where that burger was $5 only. However, the patty was quite perfectly cooked. The only downside were the toppings. The toppings were a bit too much and this shifted the focus from that patty. The ambience is super hip and really cool. Service was quick in spite of being packed with people. It was also happy hour. We visited Grub for lunch on a Friday after a college visit. It was quiet and very clean. I ordered the Maverick burger - a plant-based or vegan option - without the Swiss, added sprouts, aioli on the side, and without the bun. Also ordered sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the Guacapotle burger with regular fries. Service was good and friendly, and the food came out quick. The Maverick came on a bed of iceberg and spinach, a marinated tomato slice, and topped with a mound of sprouts. I give the Maverick a thumbs up. It was well-seasoned, but this was also my first plant-based patty ever. I'm glad I added the sprouts.! My husband rated the Guacapotle 7.5 out of 10. Said it was kind of small. The food is amazing! Burgers and fries are very well seasoned, the shakes are delicious, and the other sandwiches are good as well. Service was amazing, besides being prompt, attentive, and overall cherry my daughter lost her wallet and not only did staff take it to a safe area but they also ensured nothing was taken from it and returned it to us safely. The videos played on the TVs in the store are fun as well, during our time there we saw many clips of people enjoying different types of food and doing activities such as rollerskating but there was also a TV playing Bob Ross. I had the Front Porch burger and fries. This burger did not skimp on the beef. It was thick and well done (but not dry) like my momma would make at home when I was a kid. All the ingredients on the burger were fresh and delicious as well. As I've said in other reviews, I've never met a French fry I didn't like. Grub fries are the thick, crinkle cut style and I did not leave one in my "to go" box. The cashier was friendly and read back our orders to insure they were accurate. All around a yummy experience. Super cool atmosphere and amazing selection of burgers !! I ordered the jive turkey bar which came with free fries and a drink since I used a hooked offer.
