Small cool spot I had seen on DDD. Went in with teen aged boys. Ordered their wings, Cesar salad, paddy melt, burger and their steak they are known for. Wings were on hit, very good, both my boys loved them. They also enjoyed their burgers as I did the steak. Came into town staying at the holiday inn across the street. I was hungry around midnight and decided to drop by. You can tell upon entering that it has a storied past and definitely gives off SF vibes. The service was prompt and the server was welcoming. Was the sandwich out of this world? No but definitely above par. Above basic, and slightly below gourmet is how I'd describe it. The bread was soft with crispy surface, really nice. I would say the melted cheese was a bit overpowering for a traditional French dip. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. No complaints there. One thing that stood out to me is that they are not stingy with the sauces. Each table had a huge bottle of condiments including their own special green chili sauce, ketchup, mayo, and more. We drove by this food network's triple D Diner on Pine street all the time and wanted to try it out. - Their hamburgers were definitely top notch and delicious. They were seasoned and grilled perfectly. - Don't forget to try their milkshake, my daughter gave the strawberry milkshake a 5+ stars for taste and creaminess. - The fries and onion rings were also a healthy portion. - The verde fire sauce is amazing to add to any of the sausage, sandwiches and burgers. We've eaten at, and ordered some, Grubstake every so often. Being a late night option is a plus. What is most definitely not a plus is how they treat disabled people. My husband stopped in the front since there were stairs, and the last time we had eaten here, I was not yet a wheelchair user. So he explained that his wife is in a wheelchair, to one of the employees, and asked if there was another entrance for ADA. The guy said a dismissive "no," and took off. That was it. Rude to my husband, and dismissive of the disabled. It's not a huge loss, but I will never eat at this f**king place ever again. Do restaurants not know how many restaurants have gone out of business in the last five or six years?
