Chicken Sandwich with regular French Fries
    Vira P.

I've been wanting to try Ember Grill for awhile. Since it's Friday, I decided to treat myself to a fried chicken sandwich and onion rings. They had run out of onion rings, so I got regular fries instead. I got my order to go and they came packed in a 12oz cup. The fries are hand cut and on the softer side. I ate about half because the chicken sandwich was pretty big! The chicken is very juicy and very crispy. It comes with pickles and their Ember sauce, which is creamy and tangy. I'm not a pickle person, but I actually would've liked more pickles in the sandwich to give it more acidity. But I like my foods more on the acidic side, especially with fried foods. Not sure if a tomato would work, too.. but fresh lettuce would also be a nice addition. Granted, fresh veggies might not hold up for takeout orders (unless packed separately) because of the heat from the chicken. The space is small, but it doesn't take too long to get your order. I probably waited less than 15mins, so turn around time can be quick. And despite the small space, I didn't smell like food so it's well ventilated. The gentleman who took the order was very nice. This space has been vacant even before the pandemic as it was a sandwich pop up. I'm so happy that it's now being occupied. With the way things are in the TL, I hope this place stays and becomes a mainstay for our community. Check out their happy hour from 2pm-5pm where you can get a cheeseburger meal for $12.99.

Saw this spot opened up near work and wanted to try it out! Grabbed the Impossible Burger Meal and throughly enjoyed it! The combo meal came out to about $20 (minus tip) for the burger, fries and drink which isn't too bad for what you get considering you get a whole bunch of fries with your burger. Impossible Burger tasted great. Only potential downside was it took a bit to get my order but honestly not a big deal since it seems like its just a smaller kitchen, just keep in mind if you getting it during work break like I did. Also theres not alot of seating since its a small joint so definitely order togo. Definitely gonna drop by again and maybe next time try the Jalapeño Poppers & Milkshake!

$12.99 deal everyday 2-5pm. Cheeseburger, hand-cut fries, and a drink! So fire!

Excellent burgers! I ordered the avocado bacon one-it was perfect. And the jalapeño peppers were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

We ordered the Signature (vegan) burger and the OG, and both were good. The grilled onions were absolutely amazing and added a lot of flavor to the burgers. My only suggestion would be to offer fresh jalapeños instead of pickled ones, as I think they would complement the burgers even better. The burgers were tasty, satisfying, and reasonably priced. We also tried the banana pudding, which was enjoyable and made for a nice sweet ending to the meal. Overall, a solid burger spot with good food, fair prices, and a clean atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!

It's convenitly located on the first floor right inside the window, so you can miss it. There were a couple other food vendors down there, including a full bar, and they were playing some World Cuo matches, which was a nice touch. Making a burger choice was tough, but I went with the double OG, which did not let me down. The lace was crispy, and the flavor combination of the ingredients was perfect. It was a top smash burger in the bay, and I'd def go again if in the area.

The base drink, basically a frozen espresso martini, was good, but the topper cheese was SOOO salty. If that's your vibe, try it! We switched out for a brut, which was lovely. The apps were excellent! We got the smoked salmon sliders and the 100 layer, both of which were well-designed and very tasty. Our waiter was excellent. The wait on a Wednesday evening was kind of long but doesn't feel too bad when you're with good company. My friend and I waited about an hour around 6:30. The mushroom pizza was very flavorful. The corners and sides were crunchy, it was topped with lots of cheese and mushrooms. It was the perfect amount for 2 people. We also got the olive oil cake which came with a dollop of what I think is whipped cream cheese. It had a strong olive oil flavor, extremely moist and delicious. We were seated at the bar and although it was a little tight, it was nice to be able to look around the decorated area behind the bar. Tons of vinyls and quirky decor. Servers were also very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be returning to try other menu items!

On a West Portal stroll there is a burger place which sells the Cali Burger. The Cali Burger means fresher ingredients usually locally sourced in California. Calibur is the place to get an organic grass fed burger. I got the double cheese burger with Calibur sauce. It was tasty and it had great flavor along with a soft bun. The fresh grass fed cheese burger pairs well to eat with cheese fries in SF. The fries were crispy and saucy and got a bit messy. The woman at the counter was really friendly. I used to work retail and dealing with customers, even at the start of the shift, can wear you down pretty quick. So I gotta give props to her for being positive during this very busy day. I got the crispy hot honey chicken tacos, which is one of this month's specials. It came with delicious sweet corn, cabbage slaw, chipotle mayo, and a cilantro-lime crema. It's basically the flavors of elote with fried chicken and it yummy! The breading on the chicken was even and crisp. And I enjoyed the spicy-sweet flavor of the honey, which complemented the chipotle mayo. I also enjoyed the crunch from the cabbage and the softness of the flour tortilla. I paired with it the fried Brussels sprouts to get another veggie into my meal. Though I do love very charred sprouts, there was a hint of bitterness. I may have needed more lime to cut that. The jalapeño mayo was good. But I think tossing it in pork fat is the way to go with Brussels sprouts to really pump up the flavor. I'm not sure what oil they fry it in. I think I'll stick to their sweet potato fries, which never disappoints. It's always busy there, but it's never too difficult to find a place to sit. It's shared seating, with long tables inside and large tables outside. But my friend and I took it to go so we can have dinner with the show.
