Disrespectful toward Veterans and Service Members, very poor reviews for a reason. I initially received an estimated pickup time, but when I called back to confirm, they refused to do so and seemed like they just took the job not knowing when they could fulfill it. I explained that I needed the tow urgently due to military obligations to get my vehicle repaired, and was told, "well just go to the military then" even though I obviously couldn't do that without my vehicle getting towed for repair. I recently had a very troubling encounter with a GRUMAN TOW driver that needs serious attention. The tow truck (plate **9462213**) was being driven *recklessly*--cutting me off at night during one of the worst heavy downpours the city has experienced in years. Noting that that I had to slam on my breaks and actively control my truck to not loose control. Visibility was already extremely poor, and this kind of driving was completely unsafe and irresponsible. To make matters worse, this happened on Ventura Rd between Doris Ave and Gonzalez Rd, a stretch of road already known for frequent accidents. The driver's behavior showed zero regard for the safety of others on the road. I truly hope the company reviews this incident and addresses the driver's conduct. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend GRUMAN TOW. Safety should be a top priority, especially for a company operating large tow trucks in hazardous weather conditions. read more

I needed my car towed and told them not to try to start it. They didn't listen, and they blew the head gasket trying to drive it onto the tow truck instead of towing it. Car doesn't run at all now. read more

we needed our truck to be towed for a smog check so we could get the registration handled. we called Grumman towing on wednesday midday and he said he could get to us by 2pm. 2 pm came around and he never showed up. called again and said he was stuck in traffic that he would be there by 5. 5 pm came around and again we had to call to se where he was at. finally we agreed with him that the next day at 9am would work. Well what do you know, we call at 9 am and he says he will show up at 930. it is now 9:37 and I have decided to go with a different tow company that is more reliant. read more

Just, WOW! Our 5th wheel RV was stuck in the mud during the pouring rain. Our tires just kept spinning. We called (through AAA) and Gruman Tow was the only one who would come out! We were refused 2 times because the other drivers thought they'd get stuck in the mud, too. Then, the superhero arrived! Relentlessly he tried with a regular tow truck (in the pouring rain and thick mud) to help us. Finally, he said "I'll be back in an hour with a flatbed" and he WAS! He got us pulled out and hooked up IN THE POURING RAIN! And all of this with a smile and optimism! Cheerful, expert service with a positive attitude!! Today one of your employees driving a white fifth wheel which was parked across four parking spots in front of harbor freight in Oxnard off of Channel Islands, stopped me to tell me I was not disabled, and I shouldn't park in the handicap parking which is weird because I had my disabled veteran plates were clearly displayed on my truck; I even pointed them out encase he missed them. I thought he was joking but he kept being condescending and making comments as he was walking away. What he doesn't know is I was blown up by a IED in Afghanistan in 2012, fracturing my back in 6 places. It took me several years of therapy and surgeries to be able to walk again and I don't appreciate your employees trying to degrade me about a condition he has no idea about or how it happened. I don't think any employee walking around representing your company should be making claims about disabled veterans while simultaneously taking four spots. Driver was very unprofessional. No customer service skills. Agreed to pick up vehicle in ventura. False estimated times with zero communication with my husband. My husband waited 5 hrs for a tow! 5 hrs! Upon arrival driver was told to decline because dispatch over heard my husband saying something he didnt like. What??? This is absurd. Nothing about this company is professional. No communication.. the manager told driver to leave. Honestly i believe it was late and declined the job because they are incompetent and lazy. Any excuse not to pick up vehicle. My husband was stranded and they did not care. I called the company and manager was extremely rude and i felt i was attacked verbally for trying to get answers.. he replies with this he doesn't pick up from the ghetto. Horrible experience, our car is still stranded and manager hangs up on me during conversation but we also missed work. A huge inconvenience when we pay AAA insurance for these services. AAA will loose buisness with many people if they continue to use gruman tow in oxnard. I do not recommend this company to anyone!!!!! They will leave your loved ones stranded and go about their day.
