I can't say enough good things about Tech Automotive in Charlotte. I first brought my car in for a…read moreradiator issue and water pump replacement, and the service was quick, affordable, and professional. A couple of days later, my car started overheating again. I called them, and without hesitation, they told me to bring it in right away. They quickly diagnosed a completely different problem--my thermostat and a faulty sensor. Even though this was unrelated to the first repair, they covered the cost entirely. That kind of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction is almost impossible to find these days. Not only do they have some of the best prices in town, but the team genuinely cares about their customers. They took the time to listen to my frustrations, treated me with kindness, and even gave me a hug before I left. It's rare to find a shop that blends top-notch mechanical work with such compassion and honesty. If you want skilled, trustworthy, and caring professionals to work on your vehicle, Tech Automotive is the place. They've earned a loyal customer for life.

I had a terrible experience at this shop. I went to Chris for a labor only brake job for rear…read morebrakes & rotors (I bought my own parts prior). I was quoted 158 for this job the day prior over the phone and I confirmed at the start of the appointment if that would be the price. My brakes were in poor shape, missing a brake pad on one side and the mechanics spent an extra 15-20 mins working on my cylinder. At the end of the job, Chris informed me that they got air on the line and would have to bleed the brakes. (I've always had my brakes bled at the end of any brake job so this is standard for me to have done whenever I get my breaks done. They told me this would be an extra 120 dollars at the end of the job. My father is a mechanic and said that price was a little high just to bleed the brakes and was very familiar with the procedure. He told me "go call your dad and ask him to send you more money." When I asked if they could take 20 bucks off and knock the price down to 100 from 120 he asked me to tell him how old I was which I thought was rude and uncalled for. I told him I was 30 and he proceeded to say "wow you look 18" and said "one day you're going to have to learn that everything in life isn't free sweetheart." When I went to his office to pay he also said I'm going to have to buy him lunch because they spent extra time working on my car than they planned. Disgusting behavior. I would not recommend this shop to any woman (or really anyone) unless you want to be taken advantage of and upsold. They ended up bleeding one brake so my car would be somewhat drivable. My interior dashboard was also scratched up when I got my car back from them.

I left my car with him and told him…read moreexactly what I wanted him to do including a written list left on the front passenger seat. 1. Replace radiator fan with the one in the trunk. 2. Check the transmission fluid and replenish if needed. 3. Find electrical short in the driver door that controls the alarm that reminds you that the ignition key is still in the switch. Weeks later he called to tell me was still waiting on the "fan" to arrive so he could put it in. Also, that he had to flush out the transmission and replace all the seals due to the fluid "being burnt up". And that after "hours and hours" of looking he could not find the short. I called him back to remind him that the replacement fan was in the trunk, the transmission fluid was fine when I drove the car to him, and I had told him exactly where to find the short. He then said that the fan would not fit (two separate auto stores said it was an "exact match"). He stated that the fluid was "gummy" and he still did not know where the short was. When I paid the bill, He had charged me $1100.00 for labor alone, not counting parts. He is either completely incompetent or a crook, OR BOTH!
