This is a grumpy chicken bowl which consists of everything a chicken sandwich has without the bread.

The food was excellent. My husband ordered a Grumpy Burger, and I ordered a Grumpy Bow. Both were great. Service was smooth, and the young man who took the order was kind to us. They have two tables outside for you to sit with your puppy . Inside, it is clean and is a cute little place to stop on your road trip and relax.

Traffic down to 1 lane due to an accident on the I-10 near Madison, Florida. Pulled off and went approx 1 1/2 miles into Madison, FL. Cute downtown area and lots of cool historic courthouses and stately homes. Found Grumpy's Diner and Pie Shop. Restaurant has charming decor antiques, signs and crafts. We had been hungry for a good BLT but our waiter, Elias, suggested The Mile High Club instead so we ordered Fried Pickles to start and the Mile High Club and Sweet Potao Fries to share. Pickles came out first, very hot and fresh with ranch dip but the Star was the Mile High Club! The Mile High Club had turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese, mayo AND RASPBERRY JALAPENO JAM! Just the right sweet and spice and the sandwich was delicious. The other highlight was the steak cut Sweet Potato Fries. Crisp outside and perfectly soft and sweet inside. I highly recommend both! Saw pies and desserts on the Menu but no room for dessert so we took 2 jars of Raspberry Jalapeño Jam and headed back to the interstate. Back on the road again. Grumpy'Diner. Great Food, Great Customer Service! Would definitely come back here to Grumpy's. The breakfast menu looks amazing! Kate the Artist

The food is really a wonderful find when you don't want to have the usual chain restaurant food. Like going home to Moms! Well worth the 7 mile trip of the freeway. The service is great! Anything you want she gladly brought us. Now anytime I go near Madison I will stop at Grumpy's and so far it has been twice. The ambiance is really cute and fun. My brother found an idea to work on his next design project. Plus the waitress kindly took our picture! Grumpy's is a really special place.

We ate before taking the picture. Did not leave hungry. :)

Welcoming atmosphere and we were served right away. Elias took our order and food came out quickly. We had burgers that were cooked perfectly and will definitely stop here if we pass through again. Loved it.

So good, forgot to take a picture!

Traveling from South Carolina to Panama City our family stopped for some local grub! So glad we stopped here! We ordered cheese curds, Grumpy's Burger, Grumpy's Cheesesteak, and Mile High Club Sandwich. The cheese curds were a delicious snack that were flavorful and nice and hot with marinara sauce. The Burger was everyone's favorite, again hot and fresh with so much flavor and spice with the jalapeños, absolutely scrumptious! The cheesesteak was nice and peppery with loads of cheese, and the club came with a pleasant surprise and twist with some yummy jam layered in the many layered sandwich! All in all everything was amazing including the sweet staff! Highly recommended! We will be stopping again in our future travels!

We were in the area after visiting Madison Blue Springs State Park and needed to grab a bite to eat. We decided to swing by this local spot and give it a try! Inside was much smaller than expected and fairly full; however, we were still able to sit right away. Our server was incredibly kind and did a fantastic job. We ordered the burger with fried pickles and a bacon jam on it and the BLT which had a jalapeño jam on it. Both were surprisingly delicious. The burger flavors complemented each other way beyond what I would have though and the BLT flavors were very good as well. Particularly on the BLT (as the jam flavor stands out a bit more here), just make sure you are okay with sweet flavors as it is fairly strong. The BLT didn't have that much bacon on it compared to other BLTs I've had which was a bit disappointing, but the flavor was good. Had I been extremely hungry that could have been an issue but it was fine for the day and the price point was fairly low. The fries were also delicious and a great side. Overall, we had a great experience here. The service was kind and fast and the food tasty. If you're looking for a low-key local spot to try out, this is a good one!

We came by at the recommendation of our air bnb host. We came in and there was only one other table occupied. We sat and ordered coffee and looked over the menu. We ordered the Grumpy Scramble and Veggie omelette and had to try the homemade cinnamon roll. We did not have to wait long for the cinnamon roll. Our breakfast came out just as we ordered it. The grumpy was good with the gravy and sausage. The omelette was good along with the biscuit. We enjoyed the cinnamon roll very much with our coffee. It was soft and delicious. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is small quaint with pretty good food and service. They sell tshirts and jams and sauces also. We would stop by again if in the area. The only con is the people with their dog who barked a few times at people and the staff talking about pest control.

Right there in Madison, FL. If you're within twenty miles, you should stop in. Cute restaurant, nice people, good food, funny sayings and home cooking.

I have only been to one other Smallcakes before and I didn't realize they were the same bakery…read more This one is so much cuter and cleaner and cozier. The interior of this Smallcakes is 5 stars. It has nice touches including free birthday candles. It feels so much more upscale than the other Smallcakes I visited. I appreciate the cupcakes here because the flavors are simple and I'm a purist when it comes to cupcakes. Just give me simple flavors, no crazy toppings please, and Smallcakes delivers. The cake itself is very tasty. I could personally do with less icing on my cupcakes than what they do here and ended up scraping almost all of it off. My boyfriend (who surprised me and went with the pink chocolate cupcake...he's cute) ate more of his frosting than I did, but eventually had to say uncle and eat just the cake. If you have a serious sweet tooth, than you'll be in Heaven. If not, like us, you might want to just go ahead and cute the frosting by at least half from the beginning. What we threw away in frosting alone felt like at least a pound...yikes! Otherwise, when it comes to a sweet treat, this is a great go to place. And compared to the other popular cupcake chain, I find this one to taste more homemade.

The presentation of the store and the cupcakes were adorable. The cupcakes didn't taste like good…read morequality though, but more like store bought cupcakes. I was expecting quality, creamy frosting for how expensive the cupcakes were (as I've had at other bakeries), but it was met with a frosting that tasted like the pillsbury cans of frosting you can get at the store. Not great. Tasted cheap. Girl at the front wasn't nice either.

Somewhere on a lonely stretch of US Highway 129 sits Busy Bee, a gas station that looked at…read moreBuc-ee's and said, hold my beef jerky. Now listen... this is not Buc-ee's. Let's not get reckless. Nobody is confusing this place with the Disney World of gas stations. But Busy Bee absolutely wants you to know it studied the Buc-ee's playbook in great detail and copied enough homework to pass the class. And honestly? Respect. After hours on the road, I pulled in needing gas, caffeine, food, a restroom, and probably some emotional reassurance from the highway gods. Busy Bee delivered on most of it. First off, the bathrooms were clean. Not "gas station clean." Actually clean. That alone immediately moves a roadside stop up at least one full star in America's travel grading system. Then came the snack exploration phase. They had homemade jerky, specialty snacks, random road trip impulse purchases, and enough "well I wasn't planning to buy this but here we are" items to keep me wandering around longer than intended. It's the kind of place where you walk in for a drink and somehow leave holding candied pecans, smoked sausage, and a giant bag of pork rinds you'll later regret in silence. The overall vibe was solid too. Convenient. Clean. Easy stop. Good energy from the place itself. The employees though? Let's just say the staff had the collective facial expression of people who may have originally applied at Buc-ee's and ended up here after the universe made other plans. Nobody was rude. But there was definitely an emotional support shift happening behind the counter. Still, for a highway stop, Busy Bee absolutely gets the job done. It's a good place to refuel both your gas tank and your stomach before heading back into the chaos of interstate survival. This is probably a true three-and-a-half star stop if we're getting technical about it. But Yelp refuses to acknowledge the beauty of nuance, and I'm feeling generous today. So four stars it is for the little roadside gas station that looked at Buc-ee's empire and said, we can absolutely make a run at this thing.

This place is so good! My only regret is not buying more macarons. They are absolutely delicious.read more

Sweet Cacao recently relocated from their former Jackson Street location to a new and larger retail…read morespot on Broad Street. Every trip I make to Thomasville includes a stop at Sweet Cacao. My companions and I have sampled the sipping chocolate, which is a small hot cup of exactly what you think...sipping chocolate. It's more dessert that hot beverage to warm you up. But it is utterly delicious! There are plenty of dessert offerings from gelato to sorbet, to colorful macrons, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, milkshakes, and coffee drinks galore. If that isn't enough they put themselves over the top with hand crafted truffles, each with their own design and flavor profile. The staff will package them in a 2, 4, 8 or 12 count box for gifting. I dare you to leave without a box! They also offer a small caramel filled or dark chocolate bar for about $3.00. They are delicious! You may just have to eat it if it's a hot day outside. You wouldn't want this melting before you get to enjoy it! This is one of my personal favs! Now parking is a bit tricky. There is angled parking in front of the store and on both sides of Broad Street, but this is a busy area for shoppers, diners, locals and tourists. So, if you just venture around the corner to East Jefferson Street, there is more parking. On a busy Saturday, we found plenty of empty spaces midday on East Jefferson Street, where Broad Street was full! It is wonderful to see a local business thriving like Sweet Cacoa! The line out the door proved just how popular this dessert haven is! If you need a gift for a hostess or just a sweet treat yourself, this shop is a must-stop location and is on my regular Thomasville routine shopping destinations.
