My husband and I decided to visit Ketchum for Memorial weekend and when we arrived, a burger sounded good and this was the highest Yelp rated burger place in Ketchum. Honestly I'm not sure why. It's obvious this is a gathering place for the locals to enjoy a beer, but that's not what we were here for. The service was friendly and our food arrived pretty quick. As for the burger, it was really bland. We had to add salt to give it some sort flavor. They presumably use frozen meat you get at Sysco food supply. There's nothing special about the burger. The fries were good and made just right, but again, a little salt would of made them better. If you want to place to hang out and have a beer with a friend, then Grumpy's seems like the perfect spot for that, but if you're hungry and want a good burger, for me, not so much. ‍ read more

Still our favorite year after year after year!!! Ketchum and SV wouldn't be the same without Grumpy's at least 3-4 times per trip. The burgers and fries and corn dogs and salmon sandwiches and slaw are still all amazing, with the addition of the grilled ham and cheese this year!! Killer! We love you, Grumpy's!!! read more

When a juicy burger, fries and a cold one are on the agenda this is the place. Get a big workout in beforehand to lessen the indulgent remorse, smile big and enjoy! The lively banter from the staff is free of charge. No wonder Bruce Springsteen rents out Grumpys for his holiday party! read more

Almost no seating available but it is worth the wait. We ordered the burger, fries and even a corn dog. Drinks are just gigantic. Service was really good from the guys that were working today but the lady waitress was super angry (or perhaps GRUMPY) at something. If you are in town.. Go to Grumpy's. read more

Trying to find vegetarian food is also a little harder in Idaho. Definitely a spot where the locals go. We were rather surprised by how good their veggie burgers were! A lot of the restaurants were closed as we were looking to eat something between lunch and dinner time. We got 1 to split (just in case) but ended up getting 2 after we tried the first one. I cannot speak to the meat dishes, but the veggie burgers are great! read more

I consider myself a bit of a veggie burger aficionado. I don't personally care for "fake meats" like Beyond or Impossible. This was the best veggie burger I think I've ever had. Grumpy's has Garden Burgers and they actually put in effort to make them actually delicious. Think, grill marks, smoky flav and all of the condiments you could hope for. Big big big fan. My husband got the regular meat cheeseburger and said it was in his top 5 favorite burgers of all time. The staff was SUPER cool and everything in the order was perfect. Well done, y'all. We'll be back 100%. read more

If you end up going to Grumpy's ONLY come here to drink. Drink Prices are great , But I went for lunch and it was the most unsanitary food establishment I've ever been to. The cooks and bartenders are handling cash and cooking without washing hands right in front of you. Our hamburgers were super chard like other reviews has said they would be. If you do come here, you will most Likely leave Grumpy. We did. read more

A rare five star give. This place is great if you want an awesome burger and a beer! A big beer...schooners to be exact. At least 8 beers on tap. The atmosphere is very local. Down to earth and unpretentious. It's nothing fancy, but interesting decor. All over the walls are beer cans from everywhere, some no longer made I'm sure. We walked in and sat down, we obviously didn't know how ordering, etc worked. Instead of being an ass because we were tourist, the guy just said this is how ya do it...let me know when you're ready. I'd definitely go back for a great burger, fries and beer. Don't forget the fry sauce. It's good stuff. read more

I am from out of town and would NOT recommend this place to anyone. As soon as we walked in, we heard the manager yelling expletives to customers and being extremely disrespectful. I understand the times however, treating others with respect is not something this business does. In uncertain times, this business will fail because of terrible customer service. read more

I love coming to Grumpy's, It's one of my favorites!!! No froufrou goo-goo politically correct bs here! It's a great local hangout with a great friendly staff and a fun clientele where you can set back have a beer and a great burger and jus enjoy it all! Who doesn't love Grumpy's? It's a Ketchum institution. You've got to go there for a schooner of beer after a long mountain bike ride or a day on the slopes. While the menu is very limited, the burgers served in a basket are above average. read more

Burgers and fries are all really good. Took awhile to get our food and it wasn't very busy. My issue is with the employee wearing a 49ers hat who yelled at my kids who ripped up 2 napkins and told them that they were killing trees and went on and on staring at them telling them to clean it up. First off, we were sitting outside and there was maybe one other family there. They weren't bothering anyone. It was keeping them entertained until the food came which was taking a very long time and it's not like it's the classiest place. We were sitting on plastic chairs and tables while a dog walks around. I don't think 2 napkins are going to kill you lady. read more

I like the environment of this place, and the large drinks are fun just to look at. The veggie burger (and beer) is both significantly better and cheaper at Lefty's, however. I can only go by look and smell, but the actual burger's seem like they'd be quite good, especially by how many they seem to sell! This place definitely has charm and is worth a stop if heading through town for sure, especially if they happen to have something interesting on tap that doesn't have at the moment. Sun Valley isn't exactly nirvana for craft beer, and divey bars having craft beer is probably already technically a win, so set expectations accordingly. read more

Been coming here for years. Last two times the burgers were cooked medium at best. Went back today 3/13/2022 and specifically asked for well done. Again maybe cooked medium. Even saw the guy write well done on the ticket. 40 bucks for 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 3 beers is pretty steep to not get what you asked for. Sent mine back and it returned still pink. Come on guys you can do better than this. read more

You have to know what you're coming for with this local joint... conversation, self deprecating jokes, a dive bar like atmosphere, and good burgers. Arguably the best burgers in Sun Valley and one of the best tap lists to boot. For the adventurous, the 32 oz goblet and 1/2 burger should set your day to vacation mode. Patio seating is an excellent spot for people watching and to see the tourists and locals mingle. Definitely a must visit when in town. read more

Served on a pretzel bun, it was a unique and delicious twist on a classic. * The Fries: You can't have a pub lunch without good fries. These are those "just right" beer pub fries--crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Easily my favorite style. Verdict The atmosphere was great, the service handled the crowd well, and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back for lunch on our next trip. Plus flavored yogurts in individual containers and whole fruit like apples, oranges, and bananas. * humidifiers in the room. The hotel is so dry. We live at elevation in Park City, UT but Ketchum is drier! We ran the humidifier on high constantly but it was so great they offered this in the room. * they have a parking garage. It is $30/day AND there are easy access free spots around the hotel, but I imagine during peak season the offered parking is best. And it's covered so your car will be snow-free! * the heated pool for year round enjoyment (and two hot tubs). The air was too cold for my liking (because you have to get out eventually). * pretty decent gym with peloton bikes. * oh and the restaurant happy hour seems to be a hit with hotel guests and locals. The one huge downside was because it's so dry and they don't have a humidifier installed for the hotel, we got static shocked every time we touched the elevator buttons or unlocking our room. And it hurt! And when you're in town, I recommend the city museum, the wolf museum, the library, and the cemetery. And if the pedestrian paths are snow-free then head down Sun Valley Road.
