The price might be a little bit higher then other mid-level hotels, but I think this is a great option if you're looking for a place with easy access to the Sun Valley resorts and downtown Ketchum. We stayed during ski season and here are the things I was most happy with (in no particular order): * The said it was a continental breakfast so I wasn't expecting all they offered like fresh local bagels and pastries, fresh berries, cut up pineapple, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a very high quality granola, oatmeal with all the fixings, a pancake machine, juices, coffees with syrups and milks, lots of high quality tea choices, scrabbled eggs allow and with some mix-ins sometimes cheese or veggie, hard boiled eggs, meat like bacon sausage patties or links, sometime or potato like hash brown patties or shedded hash browns, roasted veggies, and on the weekend days they offered salmon with capers and onions. Plus flavored yogurts in individual containers and whole fruit like apples, oranges, and bananas. * humidifiers in the room. The hotel is so dry. We live at elevation in Park City, UT but Ketchum is drier! We ran the humidifier on high constantly but it was so great they offered this in the room. * they have a parking garage. It is $30/day AND there are easy access free spots around the hotel, but I imagine during peak season the offered parking is best. And it's covered so your car will be snow-free! * the heated pool for year round enjoyment (and two hot tubs). The air was too cold for my liking (because you have to get out eventually). * pretty decent gym with peloton bikes. * oh and the restaurant happy hour seems to be a hit with hotel guests and locals. The one huge downside was because it's so dry and they don't have a humidifier installed for the hotel, we got static shocked every time we touched the elevator buttons or unlocking our room. And it hurt! And when you're in town, I recommend the city museum, the wolf museum, the library, and the cemetery. And if the pedestrian paths are snow-free then head down Sun Valley Road. read more

The Limelight Hotel in Ketchum has turned into a very run down hotel with a lobby/bar that reeks of stale beer; old, stained and dated furnishing, very mediocre food for dinner and a dismal breakfast bar with no espresso, lattes...offered. The small rooms were average hotel fare with dated carpeting and decor. And the cost was too much for the lack of quality including unprofessional help, no valet for parking or bags. They just seem like a cheap hotel chain that doesn't care. Did I mention that it was empty at the height of the summer season. Should have been a clue. read more

The one star review is for service. The food was good. The ambience good. Have not been there for a couple months. I do not drink and drive, especially when driving family and friends. Last time I was at the Limelight I asked for a latte. Our server said "I'm sorry but we don't have lattes." I said "then I'll just have a cup of coffee." Server said "we don't have coffee either, we only serve coffee at breakfast." How can a 4-5 star hotel not serve coffee at night? If you are a full service hotel, then be full service. If you are visiting our town and not staying at the Limelight Hotel, a visit to the bar/restaurant is a must any time of the year. The food and cocktails are delicious and wonderful, seating inside and or outside depending on the season. Beautiful seating spots on couches and or tables along with TVs to watch games, play games and a kids play room all available in the lobby area. Also live music year round is available. Really enjoyed our stay at this gem in Ketchum. Rooms were spacious, bathrooms perfect, nice hot tub and pool area, very nice gym and ample common space to hang out as kids (or adults). All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed seeing all the friendly and well behaved pups around. Conveniently walking distance to get around Ketchum and a shuttle up to the mountain also makes it easy (wouldn't need a car if you fly in). Breakfast was pretty good with a couple simple hot options, and standard cold options as a buffet with plenty of seating. Would definitely stay here again! read more

This evening me and my friend came into limelight to enjoy some desserts and a drink, we could not be more disappointed by the customer service here. first we sat down inside and the front desk said hi to us, however the actual servers did not even look at us. we then decided to go outside, we sat down and again were ignored for a while by the waiter, Lucas. he eventually came to our table and asked if we wanted a menu, of course we do, it's a restaurant. After he told us what time the bar and kitchen close, we quickly made our decision of what we wanted to order. When he came back he walked right past us and SAT DOWN with two other girls at a table to talk and flirt with them for about 10-15 minute. we decided to go to the bar to order becuase he was chatting away and there was no bartender. the cooks were very nice though. FINALLY he came over to us when we were standing at the bar I told him that we just wanted to order before the kitchen closed, and he awkwardly took our order. When my friend asked if they had decaf coffee, he said they "don't really have that" BOY what do you mean a hotel does not have decaf coffee?! so I ordered what I thought was a rhubarb crip pie. I thought it would be worth it, boy was I WRONG. I can handle bad service but after spending $15 damn dollars on a dessert my ice cream was old, we could taste the crystals and some was a little chewy, in case you don't know that's not how icecream sound taste. and when I looked at my "Freshly made" pie it was literally rhubarb filling with some soggy stuff on top. NOT freshly made, and I couldn't eat it, I was so sad. Also we never got an apology, so that sucked. as Gordon Ramsay would say, " apologies to your customers and shut it down." Was here Sun 12th. The food was expensive but decent. But the service was horrible. Sitting at the bar and it took forever for a bartender to take our order. Then, when we did order, they brought no water no, silverware, no plates. Again, then it took forever for the bartender to even come over and acknowledge us so we could ask for it.Then, we wanted a side of fries and he said he couldn't do that, but there was a couple on the other side of the bar that had an order of fries. WTF! This is a very expensive hotel. I can't believe the service or the worker's attitudes at this place. Would definitely not eat or drink there watery drinks here again. read more

One of the newer (if not newest) hotels in Ketchum/Sun Valley. My first time there it felt a little too modern for the Sun Valley vibe, but seems to fit right in. I haven't stayed here so can't comment on the rooms and service, although the pool looks lovely and the location is very centrally located to town. I also noticed they have vans to the mountains to try to make it as convenient as possible for their guests. For me there's something special about the Sun Valley Resort so I always recommend people stay there, but this is a great option too. I have enjoyed a lunch and dinner here at Limelight Hotel over the years. During our last visit we made a last minute reservation for our party of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids) in the couch section. There was live music and the kids enjoyed playing shuffleboard while we waited for our food and enjoyed some wine. We did learn at the end that shuffleboard should not be played when music is playing so we'll keep that in mind for next time. Oops. We ordered a variety of apps and entrees for our table. The pizza was a big hit with the kids, the hummus app was enjoyed by all and I ordered the kids salmon entree (seemed healthier than most of the adult menu) and thought it was really good. It's a fun, casual atmosphere perfect for families and we plan to add into our dinner rotation when visiting. read more

The food was fantastic. We had the double cheeseburger and the blackened halibut sandwich--both perfectly cooked and delicious. Wait staff were very friendly. We ate on the patio and our only suggestion is that lighting is needed for after dark diners. It was hard to see what we were eating and all the tables were using their cell phone lights to see. Maybe just some inexpensive overhead rope lights or table LEDs would solve the issue. The patio was a wonderful place to eat otherwise. read more

Beautiful, unique lobby. Large, clean, well appointed room with a balcony and view. Excellent, hot, varied breakfasts, including pastries, eggs, bacon, juices, coffee, etc. Very good Old Fashioneds, created by a conversational and friendly bartender. Shuffleboard, cornhole toss, and ping-pong tables are avaiolable. The pool is heated and quite small, but the large outdoor patios are attractive and shaded. The $20 nightly fee for garage parking was reasonable enough, but I was charged $50/day for my pet, which seems exorbitant, even in Ketchum. The second night I was there the room immediately adjacent to me was rented to a group of rowdy, drunken, loud-rap-music-playing teenagers or college students, which cheapened the experience considerably. Finally, I decided to leave one day early, and though the garage and pet fees were supposedly reversed, I was still charged for that day. read more

This hotel is great! We stayed for 2 nights on business in a queen terrace room. The room was spacious and well thought out. A mini kitchenette, beautiful bathroom, comfortable beds, a nice tv and even a desk/table area. The patio had a beautiful view of the mountains. There is underground parking available for $20 a day. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. This is a pricey hotel but it's completely worth the price! Loved our stay here! read more

This is a favorite of mine in Sun Valley! They have great food and lots of variety so there's really something for everyone. My favorites include the Brussels sprouts, any of the pizzas, and the Shepards pie was great as well! read more

Nice, clean, comfortable, modern hotel. Parking is $15 in underground garage which is nice when it is dumping snow all week. Can't park on the street overnight or you will get towed. Big communal vibe in the lobby. Gets kinda loud and rowdy in a family friendly way after 5. Training the next gen of Ketchum partiers. Live music is nice to see in a setting where kids can dance too. Pretty good margarita for happy hour. Pizzas looked ok. Will try next time. Room 221 seems like it should have access to the balcony but it does not. ADA compliance or small child protection? Not sure why. Be sure to use your iPrefer reward number so you get credit. Even though I logged in when I reserved direct, my member account wasn't applied to the reservation. Resolved at the front desk. Very nice folks work here. They are saints for dealing with all the tourist mayhem. We were here on a busy holiday weekend. read more

I will admit I rolled my eyes when I heard we were going to a hotel bar. But after the night was over this ended up being my favorite stop of the night. This place felt like a bunch of grownups hanging out a recess. Shuffleboard over there, giggling over here, all with drinks. At some point in time a dog was hanging out next to us being cute. You can listen to live music (when it is playing of course, I would suggest that the live music play later into the night because the artist ended pretty early), you can watch a game in tv you can even ditch your kids in a kids room OR you can be an adult kid in the kid room and play Wii or read a book. Our service was awesome and our server had some fun with us. One of the drinks was wrong and he fixed it right away and didn't make it a big deal. There was a point in time where I was running around standing near things that I matched and ended up with a lamp shade on my head. (See image- I wore a lime green sweater and I matched the decor.) Absolutely loved this hotel in Ketchum. Ambiance was mountain chic, staff were wonderful, and there were dogs all around - a treat for me as I was missing mine. They had courtesy bikes (and helmets) for guests to use, a delicious breakfast buffet, and happy hour in the evening. The views were beautiful, the pool and two large hot tubs perfect! There were families enjoying the pool and patio games (corn hole and ping pong) and couples enjoying the restaurant and bar. Would not hesitate to come back. I rarely write reviews but in this case it would be a sin if I didn't. My research indicated that this was a 4 star hotel in Ketchum Idaho Whoever rated it a 4 star is out of their mind. This is a 5 star hotel in every sense. The ambiance of the lobby, patio and room was just beautiful. I sit here writing this review on our last morning drinking coffee and enjoying the beautiful mountain view's in front of us. The lobby is beautifully decorated with a couple of modern design fire places. The complimentary breakfast is everything you could ask for including omelet's, eggs, bacon, sausage and anything else you would expect. The red salsa that I used on my eggs was especially tasty. The service starts with the hotel manager Denny. He treats you like a person would treat a guest at your home. As we were enjoying our coffee this morning he came out and greeted us. He remembered we were leaving and came out to say goodbye. His staff really understand what great customer service is and everyone one of them from the housekeepers to the wait staff to the bar tenders to the front desk always have a smile. They are all so genuinely nice and attentive. Limelight has probably been the most enjoyable hotel stay we've ever had. Book a stay. You won't be disappointed. read more

We were just there last week with a ski club group of about 40+. EVERYTHING was A+, especially the service. Everyone from the shuttle drivers, front desk personnel, bar tenders, dining room servers, house keeping, etc. were very pleasant and helpful. Not one bad interaction/experience all week. As a group leader, it's nice to here nothing but accolades about the property we chose. The rooms and facilities (pool, hot tubs, Fitness center, ski room, etc.) were all excellent. The best hotel my wife & I stay at. It's a yearly thing we do for our anniversary and from the breakfast, to the bar/restaurant, the hot tub & pool and the service is all top notch. Everyone is very friendly & treats our dog so well(he hangs with us in the lobby) and gets a gift bag on arrival. The foot at the hotel restaurant is amazing & they have a great deal on happy hour menus. The car shuttle to the spa is also a plus, super friendly driver. For such a pricey hotel- you'd expect 2-ply toilet paper and tissues, for starters. $350 more on a Wednesday night, vs a Tuesday night. Outrageous. 7 day cancellation policy and they charge you the full amount of your stay at this time. Unheard of. Curtains along the windows in a suite on 2nd floor had water stains at the bottom, as if the room had water damage. A/C BLASTS over the pullout couch, but is barely felt in the bedroom area. Water came out of a handheld nozzle in the shower, instead of the nozzle on the wall. And... in this day and age- who uses SCENTED laundry products for sheets/blankets?? Not cool for those of us who are allergic to fragrance. I would expect a LOT MORE for the price we just paid for 2 nights stay. Just saying. Not to mention, our room wasn't cleaned until we called 3 times and requested it- which wasn't until 3:00 pm. read more

4.5 stars. I come to Sun Valley every year for business, and was so glad to have a new option this year. While our usual, the Sun Valley Resort, may be more high-end than the Limelight, I had a much nicer and comfortable stay at the latter. The hotel is fairly new so everything was so clean and the amenities were good. The best feature would be its location, being right in the middle of town and walking distance to all the bars and restaurants. The room was very functional and streamlined and just perfect for a business trip. They are even pet-friendly!! Definitely my new Sun Valley go-to. read more

Service at the bar for dinner. Nisa was the bartender and seemed overwhelmed. Ordered pizza and it came out of the oven and sat there 15 minutes. Fun space and actually really good food but WHY must they have a cutlery/service table in the middle of everything? It's so weird. Really cheapens the place to have that in the dining area next to the bar. It's an odd layout in general the way they've structured the dining areas. Flew to Boise and then drove 2.5 hours where we originally had a reservation for the entire weekend at another hotel. We arrived later than originally planned due to unforeseen circumstances and the other hotel we booked had no 24 hour front desk like it stated online. We were stranded in Ketchum and no where to stay. Luckily limelight was one of the only open hotels that time of night and Chase was able to get us a room right away. He took good care of us and made sure we had a place to stay for the night and we will gladly we back! 5 star customer service all the way around. read more

Not worth the $$$. Stayed last week and was very disappointed. Paid more for the fireplace and it didn't work, coffeemaker didn't work and the bathroom sink was plugged up. The managements remedy for the situation was a $40 refund on a $350 a night room. What an insult...save your money. read more

We visited towards the end of Feb. '21. Most people on first impression would like the atmosphere. However, it can get loud bc it's just a huge open space. No big deal, unless the music sucks, which it did. And sucks is an understatement. My friends and I support amateur musicians but come on! Two guys on guitars, one that can't play acoustic or sing. Rock, rap, chill, not sure what to call it other than terrible. Food was fine but not if we had to listen to that while we eat. My friend said burger might be the best in town. Wish I knew the name, actually I don't, but for this review.....'Moon...something. Headed to Whiskey Jack's to wash the bad taste out of our ears. read more

I have been to the hotel a few times; astounded that everyone seems to recognize me, even the housekeepers. An outstanding venue, but this time they really stepped up when I needed it. All was well during the stay, when my Type 1 diabetic son came down with severe gastrointestinal episode. The staff jumped into action: they located medical facilities, lent me a car, cancelled my dinner reservations, and extended our stay. My family and I are eternally grateful for the gracious help extended to us in our hour of need. read more

Out with friends and decided to try the Limelight for dinner. It has a large outdoor eating area and live music and water fountains and was very pleasant atmosphere at the beginning of the evening, however, once it got dark, there were very few lights and no candles provided on the table, so we had to use our phones to see our food. The food was good, we shared Lamb and steelhead and pizza. All three were very good. The service was awful and it was not that crowded. Drinks took a long time to come out and one had to sent back, which the waitress forgot about and had to be reminded. No candles on our table and when we asked for a to go boxes, the never brought them. Willing to try it again, but no excuse for such bad service for an expensive restaurant. read more
