Soft opening 411 8th ave. The best Philly style cheesteak sandwich I've ever had. I got half sandwich. Classic. The sesame bread fresh out of the oven. Steak so digestible carmelized onions provolone cheese. I'm afraid once word comes out expect lines when they have stuff going on at Madison square garden

The food and service were amazing! We were looking for something quick to eat before heading to the airport and came across this spot. It wasn't really packed so we didn't wait much for the food. We enjoyed it very much!

G's Cheesesteaks 6 Avenue B New York, NY 10009 Cheesesteak The bread is perfectly toasted and the cheesesteak is well seasoned. The sautéed onions were caramelized to the perfect color. "G" this cheesesteak was amazing! #cheesesteaks #cheesesteaksandwich #gscheesesteak #GsCheese #nyccheesesteak

First time visit, went to the counter, sorry we ran out of bread...it was in the early afternoon.....was instructed to come back in 30 minutes. Ok to help a new business , I came back 30 minutes later. Then the new new wait began, the sandwich finally arrives 20+ minutes later, the bread is not oven fresh, it's stale and nearly non edible, the sandwich had no flavor, oddly enough. Even after adding my own Maldon salt, it still had no flavor. And I ordered it with lettuce and tomatoes, and they had no tomatoes and never informed me just sent it out with lettuce.. sandwich was as dry as an old boot. Sorry I tried to love G's but it was like bad chain food not a yummy local spot.

stopped here on the way to the subway heading home & i'm so glad i did! ordered the classic cheesesteak & it was amazing!! the beef was spectacular with the cheese & onions. a big cheesesteak for the price, 1 is enough to share for 2 people. awesome decorations inside & staff were friendly! would definitely recommend to anyone! thank you

Truffle Wiz Wit. $16.99. Very nice. The truffle wasn't overpowering. A richer option

I was here with a friend a few months ago where we shared a couple other excellent cheesesteaks. I'm not exactly sure the reason why this place hasn't gotten the press some of the other cheesesteak places but they should definitely get it eventually as the quality is great, the portion sizes are more than large enough to justify the price point, and they have enough variety in the menu even for a place that specializes in cheesesteaks. The people in front were friendly as well. As there were two of us, we decided to split two and take home whenever was left. The former, which was my choice under G's Best, was the Prime Rib Steak with portobello, brown gravy, marsala sauce, and melted provolone for $17.99 making it I believe the priciest of the cheesesteak options. We got it with cooper sharp instead as I heavily prefer cheddar over provolone and it was excellent. The steak was thick but tender and the mushrooms added some texture. The marsala was solid with more flavor coming from the brown gravy and the mixture of brown gravy and cheddar was delicious though I think it would also work quite well with provolone also. This was excellent and I would order it again. The other person went with the Truffle Wiz Wit with fried onions, cherry pepper mayo, cooper sharp, and black truffle wiz on a seeded roll for $16.99. I was happy that the truffle flavor was present but not overpowering as I usually dislike most products made with truffle oil for this reason. This instead had a good balance with a light flavor of truffle along with the richer cheese flavor, mayo, and onions. This was also very tasty with the steak again having good texture though I preferred mine slightly. This was an excellent cheesesteak place and miles better than most others I've had before. I would probably get the onion marmalade steak next time or go back with the portobello but most of the option sound great. Go here before there's lines as there definitely should be.

Absolutely amazing cheesesteak! I got the classic which came piping hot completely smothered in cheese. I love that they cooked the steak with the cheese because it all melts perfectly together. The bread also held up well and didn't get all soggy. These are definitely on par with the cheesesteaks found in Philly, just a little more expensive because it's New York. There are also plenty of tables inside with a clean bathroom and quick service!

G's has a solid classic cheesesteak with the wiz cheese and the Cooper sharp. They don't skimp on the cheese. I wiaited a bit for it to come out, 20 mins to be eaxct but it came out piping hot. It was worth the wait.

These have to be the BEST!!! Philly cheesesteaks in NY. We ordered from G's for lunch at work. Most of my coworkers got the classic steak which is a can't miss. Since I had the classic previously I ordered the Cooper Sharp steak. The meat was seasoned perfectly not overly salty. The bread was magic, lightly toasted and holds the cheesesteak just right. The hidden gem at G's that you must get is the cheesesteak egg rolls which they cut in half and are perfect for sharing.

The Classic Steak: 4.5-5 stars Cheese Lover Fries: 4 stars stopped at G's Cheesesteaks on Halloween night to pick up a late dinner. G's Cheesesteaks serves up a menu of cheesesteaks (beef or chicken); cheese fries; chicken cutlet sandos, burgers, and more. located in Alphabet City on the corner of Avenue B and Houston St. it's a fairly new spot in the neighborhood. the interior is colorful, well-lit, and clean. there's a good amount of tabled seating, considering it is a medium-sized space. beverage wise, there are soft drinks and several beers on tap. ordered a Classic Steak (chopped Ribeye, fried onions, Cooper Sharp cheese, Cheez Wiz, on a roll) plus Cheese Lover Fries (Cooper's Sharp cheese, Cheese Wiz, bacon crumbles over French fries). the cheesesteak is legit good and made-to-order on the grill. really thin slices of grilled ribeye steak that has melted mix of cheese wiz and cheddar cheese and grilled onions--all sandwiched up on long soft roll. honestly, the cheesesteak is excellent. you can taste grilled seasoned beef (not dry at all, full of savory juices) melding with the sharp melted cheddar, the smoothness of the cheese whiz, and the caramelized softness of the grilled onions. beyond that, the rolls is so good--it's soft yet firm and absorbs all that beef, cheese, and onion goodness. the roll has to be freshly baked bc it really takes the cheesesteaks to a higher level. the cheesesteak being made to order makes the cheesesteaks also excellent because they come hot off the grill , get wrapped and bagged, and then ton you. there's is a bit of wait bc nothing is precooked but that is also why everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. Cheese Lover Fries were good. basically it's cheese fries with bacon crumbled over it. the French fries were super crispy and soft inside. the melted cheese sauce of Cooper's sharp & Cheese Wiz is rich, smooth, and what you want smothering the fries. tbh, i am a fan of bacon (ALWAYS) but it adds way to much saltiness and kinda takes away from the goodness of the cheese fries, themselves which are tasty by themselves. between the fries getting season plus the bacon, it makes it a little too salty for my preference. if i had to order it again, i would do so without the bacon. the service is very chill and hospitable. when i was there to pick my takeout order, it was clear they were getting ready to close up but my cheesesteak and fries were not rushed or anything and the quality of it was really good. I i could feel the heat of the sandwich and fries outta the bag. it was still plenty hot when i devoured both! great addition to Alphabet City and a delicious one at that. if you're a fan of the cheesesteak and are unwilling to drive to Philly...you have a quality option in NYC.

Their cheesesteak is top tier. Kind of out of nowhere. Should get more publicity. Haven't tried anything else, but will soon.

Also, an obvious side note- You wonder how a place that's been open for, I believe, a year and a half has 1500 Google Reviews? It's because they give you a free soda if you write a 5-star review, so I guess if you have a palate for Polar sodas, you can give them a five on that site. If you're going to get anything, go for the tender combo, as their sliders, burgers, and buns are bad. Anyway, it's nice to find a Zabiha Halal spot that serves burgers and other American grub in this neighborhood. I used to frequent somewhat similar spots back in the Arabic neighborhood I lived near in Brooklyn, and it was nice to see this place open a while back. I have tried a handful of things here, and honestly, it's gotten worse every time. The first time, I got the tenders consisting of six pieces for $14, which is honestly very reasonable. The thinner pieces were a tad dry, as the batter had become overly fried, but it's hard to complain about the price point. They also came with a perfectly alright sauce called Mambo, which they list as spicy but is as hot as a spicy McNugget or similar with a light sweetness. The second time, I had the Slider Combo for $7.99, which came with two chicken sliders (spicy if wanted,) fries, and a Polar soda. The fries were honestly nice and better quality than those at any nearby fast-food place. The sliders were dreadful, however. They were dry with overly breaded chicken with no pickles or anything else to help, so I guess that's why it comes with a soda or water. This doesn't help the even worse bun, which was dry as well, and makes a Martin's potato roll look like a Rolls-Royce. The Polar drink was, as expected, a worse Diet Coke. The last time, and the last time I'll ever stop in here, I got the Classic Burger, which is their smash patty with American cheese, holy sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion. This was the worst burger I've had in ages and easily the worst smashburger, with the meat somehow being dry. I guess the bun was different as it was larger, but also as the top was charred better than the burger meat. Maybe the signature burger for $4 more is better, but I'm never going to stop for it if they're careless enough to burn a burger bun. 3 stars for the chicken tenders due to the deal. 2 stars for the slider combo, as the fries were decent. 0.5 stars for the burger. 2/5
